Lol panama did well
They do lack cohesion and it’s a disgrace they haven’t addressed that yet over the years. Don’t rate Martinez at all. De Bruyne playing so deep makes absolutely no sense. That doesn't excuse them from not looking like a decent side. Just because Argentina, Brazil, Germany ballsed their games up? My issue is that Belgium don't play like a team, it's kinda like the Hazard show, which is very frustrating to watch.
That's because the team play for RonaldoAll the star players are playing only for themselves so far, except Ronaldo. No surprise he's the standout performer so far.
You realize central forward can be the position with less touch in game? In certain system their job is not getting involved. Even fecking LVG a possession based master, described his ideal CF as having few touch, but occupying CBs, and expected to put away most of the chance coming his wayThe others arent doing fine either. I still think it's up to lukaku to get involved more. So often for United he doesnt get involved and you barely notice him. Not a single player on the pitch has fewer touches then Lukaku does in this half so far, not even the keepers. No matter how the others are playing, that's on him.
I noticed this, he dont seem to like passing the ball to him on goal scoring situations.Hazard definitely hates Lukaku.
This is another referee blowing every time a player hits the deck. Is it only the European refs that have a concept letting play go on?
Agree. The only time I've seen De Bruyne is taking corners to be honest. He's not supposed to be playing so deep and by the time he's sprinted up the field, Hazard has already tried to take on 3 defenders or done something else that doesn't involve him. They do lack cohesion and it’s a disgrace they haven’t addressed that yet over the years. Don’t rate Martinez at all. De Bruyne playing so deep makes absolutely no sense.
Playing KDB as a 6 is like playing Carrick up front. Why would you?
Lukaku's problem is that too many times he is just static in the box waiting for a ball to be played onto his head. Games like these you need the striker to be more involved, drop deep sometimes, try to mix it up but he just doesn't move.
Is LvG managing Belgium?
VAR. It's there to review penalty incident. There is no point to book divers when they ain't tricking anyone. You can try but you can't diveAlso why wasn't this wanker Mertens booked for his dive in the box earlier on?
Sack Bobby Martinez right now and Belgium will win this, and the group as well.Playing KDB as a 6 is like playing Carrick up front. Why would you?
Just look at lineup. They're playing 2 men midfield with KDB and Witsel. Since when KDB plays in 2 men midfield in a box to box way ? Mental stuff to just have all the big names on the pitch.
The problem with belgium current generation players is they are going for individual glory. Look at Hazard. He must learn to pass and be a team player
Bit like the Netherlands really. Though they ve clearly done a bit better the last few decades but similarly have suffered from having star stuffed teams without a lot of cohesion. I've often wondered how much that has to do with a perhaps perceived lack of national pride. Playing for the country rather than just playing for glory.Unlike the other big teams, Belgium have always been that underwhelming despite big names in every big competition. Zero chemistry between players.
They're focusing on collecting as many big names on the pitch rather than building a balanced coherent lineup.
They have the desire to win the world cup because individually, they are players with battle-hardened mentalities and trophy winners. But when I said they lack the motivation, I meant that their skills are not properly utilized and so they don't really seem to have the confidence of the teams which are WC favorites.
I don't disagree with all of that. All sensible points.Italy's biggest problem was the coaching and the Italian FA deserves all the profanities you can throw at them for sticking with Ventura for so long. Having said that, the squad was more than good enough to be in this WC, definitely better than some of the teams we've already seen.
That's because the team play for Ronaldo![]()
League wasn't significantly better in 2010/14 either.Netherlands have more problems than the manager. Their league is now below the Belgian league. Not many players in top teams now.
Belgium just reminds me of England when they were searching for ways to shoehorn Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes in one lineup, ending up with Scholes not in his favorite position, instead of building a balanced team on the pitch.
