It's a long established talking point that it may as well be on the islamaphobic bingo card. Generally left leaning voices that want a progressive society also criticise western foreign policy in the middle east. And this criticism of western foreign policy is then conflated with being pro-x or pro-y - in this case, being perfectly fine with the status of women in these countries. It's an intellectually dishonest argument that you'd have to be dumb as a literal rock to buy into.
The reason they say "feminists don't criticise muslims enough" is because it's easy to focus on someone who, say, works on domestic abuse or studies the pay gap and find that they mostly talk about domestic abuse where they're from, or the pay gap where they're from. "see, all she talks about is women in Albuquerque, why don't talk about the women in Qatar? Huh?"
And there's little reason to think Jordan is doing this purely for the money, he seems to believe what he says and his constant attacks on women in particular paint a picture of a man who is little more than a misogynist piece of shit. He doesn't deserve the civility he refuses to half the people on this planet.
