I doubt the Colombians will appreciate it mind. They state that they see the World Cup as an opportunity to shed the cocaine capital image.
Is it feck. It's just more front page trading in national stereotypes and insulting to Colombians.
No doubt put together by some sockless cnut with a coke habit himself.
It’s offensive indeed, but we really see that front page as a bad joke. I have lived in England, has many English friends, and been treated respectfully in this forum so far. What the Sun says, isn’t representative of England. Media in Colombia is also awful.
About this being the chance of changing the cocaine Capital imagery; we have left that in the past. Colombia is known for its artists, sportsmen, coffee, water reserves, eco tourism and literature. We have many good things going about us since turn of the century, and hopefully are leaving that damn narco stereotype behind.
Sadly productions such as “Narcos” have put that damned SOB Pablo Escobar on the spotlight again... absolutely despise that murderous piece of shit. The day he was killed by police was one of the best days in our history.
Probs to stop people writing columbia
Please stop calling us Columbia. As I told
@ivaldo , it’s offensive to us: The fairest and easiest show of respect is to spell someone’s name correctly, and when people in Europe or USA call us Columbia it’s seem as if we are so insignificant they didn’t even try to learn the correct way of spelling our name.
Calling Colombia Columbia is one of the worst offenses to us, after name dropping cocaine or that SOB Escobar.
well you are because you said that only one and its only because they scored in the 90th min, but argentina done the same but you never mentioned that ? James is the only player who would defo start for England, Sanchez maybe for Mcguire at the back and even thats a big if, James brings the best out of the Colombia team and will be the best player on the park,
We have no striker as Kane, that is the truth, Falcao isn’t what he used to be (although is still a competent striker).
But I rate our defense as better than yours: Davinson sanches, Yerry Mina, and Arias are better than Walker, Stones or Jones. And our GK is better than Pickford, without him being a world beater.
Columbia are pretty average this tournament. They were in the easy group of the tournament and it made Belgium and England's path to the quarter finals less difficult. Of course, Japan were also underwhemling in the group stages and played very well against Belgium.
I'd say England are the favourites, but this world cup has had many upsets so it won't be an easy game.
It’s Colombia not Columbia.
You say we were in an easy group; but it actually was competitive. We lose a layer early against Japan, and managed to give them a good match without James (for most of the game), and with 10 men.
Against Poland we destroyed them.
Against senegal, it was a close match, with their speed and strength they gave us trouble, but we managed to defeat them without James.
With all due respect: who have you beaten? Tunisia, that is worst than either Poland or Senegal, and Panama: a pub team that is coached by Bolillo Gomez: a Colombian coach so bad, that he makes Moyes looks like SAF (not kidding, when we fired him and hired Pékerman, was the best day for Colombian NT)
When you beat us on 98, we were coached by that dreadful Bolillo Gomez. He is an outdated coach, who thinks it’s more important to not revive goals than to make them; and who only uses one formation during his whole terms as head coach. He is awful. Heck! He even asked south gate to stop scoring goals: pathetic.
Its not arrogant at all for England to be glad to be on this side of the draw. If anything its the opposite, England fans are saying there's no chance they'd make the final in the other side of the draw.
This is the easiest side of the draw for all teams involved. There’s nothing arrogant in saying that.
Its called a pun. A play on words, a joke.
I knew the Colombians wouldn't be happy about it though. They think the world thinks they're nothing more to Colombia than cocaine.
Considering the countless deaths that damn drugs have brought my country, it’s not as simple. It’s a bad joke and is a sensational media as “the Sun”, but is insulting a country with something that mid 80s, early 90s almost destroyed us.
It’s the sun, so I really don’t care, they are mediocre. But most people not familiar with them are offended and have every right to be.
