England Discussion | Finish 4th

In a neutral venue, I think England would win 8 times out of 10. 99/100 is ridiculous though yeah.

Clearly they would not. The biggest favourites in this WC so far have been Belgium with a full two-goal handicap start against Panama (closely followed by Uruguay vs Saudi Arabia, Brazil vs Costa Rica and England vs Panama). And even in those games the favourite was only expected to win ~80-82% of the time. England vs Sweden would obviously be nowhere near that. People need to get some perspective.

I think Pat Nevin meant THAT Sweden that just played against the Swiss not Sweden in general

Hopefully for England Man Shitty Sterling will actually show up today for the first time this tourney. Don't see any wc glory without him kicking it into high gear.

Not sure how to decipher this.
Is it "Hopefully for England, man, shitty Sterling..." that's harsh on Raheem, couldn't be that shitty if we need him to win the WC.

I fear that Falcao might rip them apart... hope i am wrong and England does turn up for the games which matter.
It will be awesome in any case, I am so excited... Come on Lingard !

James out makes us favourites but I do worry about Falcao's movement vs our centre halves.

Columbia have been a steady 3-1 all week with England coming in at 1-1 odds on (90 mins), I don't know why Columbia have such high odds but the bookies are never that far off the mark

This question has probably been asked in this thread, but why is Sterling starting? He's been pants so far for England.

Cuadrado really reminds me of Redondo. Of course the later had a much more rounded game, but still...

Adele Ali And Sterling shouldn't have started this game

When Messi and Argentina do nothing for a half, it is news and a drama. Plus we get the bonus of watching Maradona get wasted in front of the whole world. When Kane and England no nothing for a half, it is just plain boring. I am falling asleep here!

Why is Cuadrado on the left today?

I thought he was on the right?

I thought England have looked good, certainly more passion and workrate than Argentina mustered.

Because some players always play for England, regardless of how crap they are. It’s been going on for decades.

Falcao is very isolated and Quintero too surrounded.Colombia don't give too much feeling of danger.
I think Alli should play more in the middle and try to get more prominence in the play.
Not the best minutes for Sterling

This has got heartbreak written all over it.

Nah, Colombia are playing daft - the ref will watch the replay of the headbutt at half time and then they'll get someone sent off by the 70min mark.

I'm very disappointed in the Colombia side that has turned up thus far.

England are the better team and will win this.

More workrate yes, but it’s been similar to watching an LVG team. It’s just boring.

Neutral perspective, so I am sure if you are English you are more entertained by this s game.
