In this set up. The team with Becks, Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes etc would've been, they just weren't set up to control it in such a way.
Basing my opinion on how the team is playing, not on the names in the sheet. That team had so many superstars but never played well, and never felt comfortable on passing. It might be because of the defense, all three CBs are immense on passing under pressure.

Sweden 4-4-2 geting exposed particularly in midfield where England swamping them.

Might have to go to 4-3-3 and move Forsberg closer to the strikers to get a chance of a goal.

Players really should stop appealing for handballs every time when ball hits opponent above the waist.

Sweden are too slow. They need to change their formation or something to get the ball up the field.

Rashford has been absolute shite though.
To be fair, he was quite good in the first two games when he came on – got a mention along with RLC if I remember rightly.
It was the unbalanced game against Belgium that did for him. How anyone can tell anything from the service he was getting that game is beyond me. There were only defensive subs against Columbia before he came on for the last 7 mins of ET so that doesn't count – but he was brave enough to put a pen away under pressure and that alone means he deserves a chance IMO.

this game has the quality of a classic groupstage game where 2 sides are playing for the 2nd or 3rd place.

Let us have our moment lol you've had like 50 years of performing well at the World Cup

They never had such a easy route on a major tournament though.

Euro 2004 probably?
Were them that good? All I remember is Zidane defeating them, and then losing in pens to Portugal, but don't remember passing being something that important for that team.

This is easily the best England since at least 2002.

You know it's England's year when they've concured the penalty shootout and have a error-free keeper

Sterling’s finishing

Why take sooo long to flag?
