Let's all Laugh at England

Hmmmm, not really sure many English fans give a toss about today to be honest.......we've had our fun, time for the Premier league now....

I'm not even watching the game

The only interest for me, personally, is seeing Lukaku overtake Kane and winning the golden boot.

Yeah pretty much on the money. For me there was about 10 days where I thought England had a chance but today is a bit irrelevant. Now we have United players playing for England so hope they do well.

I have no problem admitting that Germany was arrogant this world cup and completely fail to justify it with performances, hence I had no problem with the let's laugh about Germany thread.

Yeah man, it's all good :D

I'm all for this thread too, people can have fun at our expense. I find some of the comments a little odd as there's some very weird undertones to some of the apparent harmless mocking, and the endless debate over a stupid song is possibly the funniest part of all this, but people are free to have at it as far as I'm concerned.

Arrogance

Nah, you really didn't mate ;)

Anyone taking things personally from this thread shouldn't be reading it! All this talk of people's opinions of other and all that being changed is nonsense in the context of the thread, I personally think you are all exactly the same cnuts after this thread as before it.

cnuts.

Today’s performance was pretty laughable. Was a great chance for Southgoat to get a medal for England but threw it away with that line-up.

Ended up losing the only 3 tough games they played. That doesn't sound good at all.

I hope so. The one thing I don't get is that the British media is literally unbearable if you live in the British Isles and you're not English. BBC and ITV had partisan English pundits/commentators backing the team, making the occasional shit joke and deriving positives from our tournament performance, I don't see what's so bad or unexpected about that. As for the likes of the Sun and the Mail, if you've been surprised or especially offended by those rags this summer you haven't been paying attention. I also hope nobody actually thinks the majority of English people were properly arrogant at any point in this tournament, as hand on heart I've seen a fair bit of pride, pleasant surprise and the same old gallows humour and very little else from everyone I've met and watched games with.

The rest from non-English United fans is completely understandable and fair game as far as I'm concerned. I assume the one positive reaction was to Jesse's goal, along the lines of 'well done, that's a good goal, I hope he's doing that for United next season'.
The media stuff I don't disagree with. Media will have their darlings when it comes to national teams. Even Norwegian media speak out about which team they support, yet we're not in it.
If we were in it we would either be hating on our own (janteloven) or we would be as biased as can be within our country.

I don't read or follow English media unless it's something I get linked or comes up here on the caf, and I suspect the same goes for most others who aren't English and don't live in England.

To be clear, I know my reason for wanting England out is both petty and childish, but I really cannot stand Dele Alli. :D

Tactically naive. England deserves a better manager.

England are still clueless in the final third. I have no idea how they finished fourth. I don't think you have made some big improvements actually, except for getring rid of the likes of Rooney, Gerrard, etc.

As good a reason as any :). I'm gald it's over with now, we can concentrate on being dissatisfied with United for a few months now.

Corners, free kicks and penalties. Don't need attacking flair to convert those.

What’s with the “throwing it away” stuff? Apart from Lingard, weren’t the rest of the regulars not featuring all injured?
Alli, Walker, Young, Lingard all on the bench. Playing a back three with Phil fecking Jones? It did not turn out well, and for good reason.

The three times they faced a decent team, they lost. Still the same old mediocre England team who just happened to get a run into the semis that was almost impossible to mess up.

As always, team lacks footballers. Nothing but pace, size, and power.

Any Utd fan laughing at today would do well remember that it's us lot that are stuck with Phil Jones for another season.

We'll be seeing plenty of his style of defending in a Utd shirt soon enough

let's hope any English-based Belgian Waffle Houses close early today - could be another mob on the loose

this game underlines the gulf in class between England and some of the more classy teams who are genuine contenders - serious lack of quality in that England attack

Can play like heroes against Panama and Sweden, scrape past Tunisia and Colombia but schooled twice by Belgium and Croatia

a lot for waistcoat to do to reach the level of a Belgium

Phil Jones
still couldn't be happier with how we played this tournament. We went in with no expectations and come out with a lot of positives.
I just hope some of our talented youngsters can step in now for the euros.
Proud of England this tournament!

Bang average. Come up short against anyone that's good at football.

Blah blah blah.

This is supposed to be a fun thread, not for miserable feckers to bang on about shit that is actually true.

P 7
W 3,panama Tunisia Sweden
D 1 Colombia
L 3 Belgium Croatia belgium

Maybe just exactly as one would expect?

oh trust me I'm laughing - I'll throw a joke in for you too

Southgate wants the boys to bounce back after a disappointing end to the World Cup when everyone started to believe it was coming home.

First up is a game against Iceland and if they win that they will take on a team from Tesco

geddit

The English are salty, but the Irish + the rest are definitely bitter.

You'd be bitter too if you came from Ireland. They have a serious case of short man's.

Yeah, we, all non English fans are idiot for not knowing sense of humour of our English fella. Sorry for all misunderstanding so far.

 True.

People are idiots though if they seriously think anything over a very tiny minority actually thought for one second we had any chance. There's been a lot of prejudice against the English over a fecking song of late, and that's just plain backwards. Just laugh at us for being shit, not for mistakenly thinking we actually believed we were any good ;)
