NBD, they just changed it so they won't be publicly releasing the readouts of calls with foreign leaders. Now they can speak in private, no problem.

Washington (CNN)The White House has suspended the practice of publishing public summaries of President Donald Trump's phone calls with world leaders, two sources with knowledge of the situation tell CNN, bringing an end to a common exercise from Republican and Democratic administrations.

It's unclear if the suspension is temporary or permanent. A White House spokesman declined to comment.
Official descriptions of the President's calls with foreign leaders -- termed "readouts" in Washington parlance -- offer administrations the chance to characterize in their own terms the diplomacy conducted at the highest levels between countries. While news is rarely contained in the rote, often dry descriptions, they do offer the only official account that a phone call took place. Readouts are still released internally.

Note this month’s revelations by BBC’s Panorama programme that Trump behaved like a “predator” at parties packed with teenage girls in the 1980s and 1990s. It included the testimony of Barbara Pilling, then a young model, who recalled Trump asking her age. On hearing that she was 17, Trump said: “Oh, great. So you’re not too old and not too young. That’s just great.” Pilling added that she “felt I was in the presence of a shark”. Again, imagine what similar revelations would have done to the standing of Clinton or any previous president. Yet for Trump, they made barely a dent.
The latest Trump scandal would have destroyed any other president:

Maddow made a mistake again (that's she's no doubt cleared up since), big whoop. Don't understand the forced outrage. Meanwhile Trump and his chronies doing feckries daily and it's a shrug and a 'that's what they do'.

Trump lies: He's just trolling libtards, LoL...

Reporter makes mistake:. Proof of deep state Knights Templar conspiring with the Rothschild's to brainwash the public...!

I dont see the big deal. He spoke off the record with Cohen on a story. Kept ot off the record.

Yep, but there's a tape and we don't know who is in possession of it, so the standard attribution guidelines may not apply if there is info of legal interest therein.

Sounds like i will need popcorn for later

I had no idea who this Maddow person was. A quick search and I instantly recognise her from the “Trump won’t win” and “media meltdown” montages.

Just had a read through this and the bigger picture is starting to come a bit clearer regarding these 12 recordings the Trump team has excused from A-C privilege.

Firstly - It’s the Wall Street Journal, a Pro-Trump publication that has been singing from his hymn sheet for a while.

Secondly, the fact it’s Cuomo isn’t a coincidence. At this stage Cuomo isn’t indicated of any wrong doing however CNN and their strongest anchor have their names dragged into the mud.

Thirdly, there is nuances to the tape that has been released which indicate and downright implicate Trump in campaign funding violations and other illegal activities but that tape alone nor the crimes indicated are likely to stick on Trump. The reason he exempted it from A-C privilege and in doing so facilitated it’s release is the single line where he denies the validity of the claims against him. As if him denying it behind closed doors is proof it’s not true.

There’s 11 more tapes to come by the sound of it. I’d bet good money that there’s going to be 11 more tapes released over the next few months and that there is already at least 11 narratives in place for asynchronous release.

So, he actually made a deal with the EU. Might this be an actual success?
He did but because he banned a reporter from the actual announcement in the rose garden, no ones talking about it.

Trump got a great deal imo. Avoided a trade war and got the EU to buy extra soybeans and liquefied natural gas from the us

For gas that the US can't supply for YEARS! And some soybeans.

It's worth remembering that Trump agreed deals with China twice too before throwing a hissy fit and backtracking and reinstating tariffs. I can see many similarities with this half arsed and very rushed so called deal.

I know people say we're in a libcafe bubble on here but different posters will see/read things differently. It's great and not nearly as bad as those ninja posts make out. I tend to see things more Langy's way but it's good to see the different takes.

I'm struggling to find any details of any 'deal' being made.

It just sounds like Trump has backtracked from his plans to start a trade war with the US's closest allies. They have also talked about working towards zero tariffs, zero tariffs being a free-trade deal, y'know that thing that usually takes 5-10 years to negotiate the finer details of before implementation.

It's an established pattern by now. Trump charging off around the world like a bull in a china shop, making all sorts of outrageous threats and claims.

Then he meets an actual real politician, who quickly fobs him off by reminding him of long-term commitments that have already been made, prompting Trump to immediately call a press conference to tell the world about his "victory".

It's actually kind of comical. Although it's a little unsettling to think of American voters seeing this as evidence of him delivering on his promises to make loads of good deals for the US. All this empty braggadacio could actually see him elected again.

I normally jump into this thread for a catch up every couple of days. Every time I do, I swear there is enough happened that any other politician would be fighting for their career. Every single time. And yet he's happily plodding on fecking the world up. Baffling.

It could very well go the way langster said. But i dont see what trump has given up in relation to the EU. His concession is to not do what he was doing or thretened to do. While he sells the soy beans that they probably dont want. It has potential to be good, but its trump he will probabkg feck it up.

Trump's latest tweet refers to this incitement-to-murder garbage:
NewsWeek said:
ALEX JONES THREATENS TO SHOOT 'PEDOPHILE' ROBERT MUELLER, ACCUSES ZUCKERBERG OF FACEBOOK 'SHADOW BANS'

Infowars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones ramped up threats against special counsel Robert Mueller on Monday, calling him a "monster" and described shooting the former FBI Director.

Jones' nearly 3-hour July 23 InfoWars broadcast ranged from rants about Hollywood pedophilia to social media "shadow bans" to outlandish allegations Mueller was personally involved in a child sex ring composed of left-leaning political figures.

The InfoWars host went on to illustrate a "real world" threat against the former Marine Corps officer and Vietnam War veteran currently in charge of the Russian interference investigation of the 2016 presidential election.
