The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

I'm struggling to find any details of any 'deal' being made.

It just sounds like Trump has backtracked from his plans to start a trade war with the US's closest allies. They have also talked about working towards zero tariffs, zero tariffs being a free-trade deal, y'know that thing that usually takes 5-10 years to negotiate the finer details of before implementation.
Yea, I can't find any details on an actual deal, that's why I was wondering if he actually made some sort of deal, thus had an actual success, or if it's just Trump chickening out on his big words again.

"“Our behavioral ranking doesn’t make judgments based on political views or the substance of tweets,” a tweet posted to his Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon said. According to Beykpour, Twitter began addressing “healthy public conversation” through a variety of changes earlier this year. “In May, we started using behavioral signals and machine learning to reduce people’s ability to detract from healthy public conversation on Twitter,” he said."

Not sympathising with republic cnuts, but this sounds Orwellian as feck. "Healthy public conversation"

Why is the American right so obsessed with pedophilia and sex-rings?

Trump's latest tweet refers to this incitement-to-murder garbage:

Twitter is limiting the visibility of prominent Republicans in search results — a technique known as “shadow banning” — in what it says is a side effect of its attempts to improve the quality of discourse on the platform.

The Republican Party chair Ronna McDaniel, several conservative Republican congressmen, and Donald Trump Jr.’s spokesman no longer appear in the auto-populated drop-down search box on Twitter, VICE News has learned.
They've sorted it now.

He looks like he really needs a massage. My neck and shoulders are aching just looking at him.

What‘s the instrumentarium the govt. has v. Twitter? Can only see a way through anti-trust law but that road sure seems adventurous at best. Probably going to be public pressure only but not much can be done if you‘re relying on it yourself like Trump.

Imagine Twitter messing with his account. Like shutting him out during Fox & Friends.

To distract people from scrutinizing them for the same thing?

Historically, it is figures from this end of the spectrum who end up being found doing crystal meth with male prostitutes in seedy motels.

Would tend to agree, but Twitter is a private company, and I think they are within their rights to introduce any rules they like to their platform.

Trump with his "illegal practice" line seems to think it's a public broadcasting system that is duty bound to let any wanker say anything they like on there, but I'm fairly sure it has no obligation to do so.

OOOH I wonder do they have him on tape talking about pressuring one of these women to get an abortion...

Ah feck it, it probably still wont matter to his supporters or the GOP

Fake fake fake! Apart from joke, that's a big bomb if true.
His support won't care as long as he makes the 'right' picks for the SCOTUS and continues to write bills and stuff that benefit them.

Mainly it is about Roe and possibly Griswold but don't think the latter will be overturned.

Yeah, the right-wing pro family hypocrisy.

Turkish response:

QA-51, 26 July 2018, Statement of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hami Aksoy, in response to a question regarding the social media messages by President Trump and Vice President Pence of the United States of America

Turkey is a sovereign state with a deep-rooted democratic tradition and political order which upholds the supremacy of law . No one can give orders to Turkey and threaten our country. The rhetoric of threat against Turkey is unacceptable.

In order to improve its relations with the United States, our country has displayed necessary political will and did its part more than enough. It is impossible to accept the U.S. Administration’s threatening messages, which totally disregard our alliance and friendly relations between our countries.

As regards the Brunson case, necessary information has been provided to our U.S. counterparts on various occasions and it has been clearly expressed that this issue is totally within the competence of the independent Turkish judiciary.

We invite the U.S. Administration to leave aside this wrongful rhetoric and come back to the existing framework of constructive dialogue that we have been engaged in so far.

Basically, Erdogan wants Trump to give him Gulen in exchange for the detained pastor. Highly doubt that will happen or whether anything will come of this given that the US has an important base in Turkey.

Yep, religious GOP supporters have shown they're more than willing to compromise just about every religious ideal they're supposed to hold if it benefits them.

Did people hate him when he wasn't president? Sure he's said some dumb things etc etc but there's no candidate that isn't dodgy to start with. Most nations are in debt for a reason...governments should be able to make their own money debt free. Hillary has plenty of baggage but you get the impression her crap don't stink. Maybe liberals are mk ultra victims...someones got to be. It seems if you go down that line of messing with the human mind, that you had better hope those doing it are good people. But smashing that up and the general hostility of the left is a tad suspicious.

A lot of people liked him and he was someone many aspired to be like.

He was inconsequential to most people's lives before he was president, he played a character on TV once a week and said some stupid shit in the media. I can bet you plenty of people who came into direct contact with him hated him though, and as President he is in contact with all Americans.

Why is the American right so obsessed with pedophilia and sex-rings?

It used to be fornication, adultery, paedophilia and sex-rings. If you saw that panorama programme then soon paedophilia will be of that list. And sex rings for that matter.

A good Christian* is willing to go through the painful path of the devil to reach the Lord.

* I mean the Right's good Christian.

I thought all WH staffers were under strict NDAs? Or were they classed as useless as public servants are under transparency laws?

Sean Spicer and a few others have written books recently too though guessing Spicer's says nothing negative given it is being recommended alongside 'The Russia Hoax'.
