The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

The vandalising incident is exactly what Ben Shapiro means (and in this case rightly so) when he tells the left "this is what got you Trump and you don't see it". The same as Robert De Niro shouting "feck Trump" in front of an Trump-hating audience. Idiots.

I'm still trying to decipher the hidden meaning of all the randomly capitalised words in his tweets. It can't just be his German heritage.

The right can act like absolute fecking assholes and the left have to smile, put up with it and never retaliate.

feck that, the guys a cnut and the more the left fight back against fascist cnuts like him the better.

Agree 100%. The "this is why Trump won" thing is absolute bullshit. The left and the right are not allowed to play by the same rules, which is how you end up with situations where the white supremacists and the people protesting them are equally to blame for a white supremacist killing one of the people protesting them (good people on both sides, remember!)

You think some random acts by people who aren't even politicians are to blame for people getting behind all the "-isms" of Trump, not to mention his character? Sounds like whataboutism of the highest order to me.

Who is Ben Shapiro? I worry for his intelligence if he seems to think that this whole Trump thing can be summed up by something so trivial or even explained by one point. Trump got in for a various number of reasons. However if pushed to pick a particular one then it would be that he got voted in by a bunch of idiot voters who believed his stupid lies about making America great again and actually believed that his vast number of downright stupid policies would make their lives better. In fact the sheer stupidity of believing that a guy born into vast riches would ever truly have the 'ordinary' people's best interest at heart is staggering.

As for the precious soft skinned right, well wrecking a piece of pavement is hardly comparable to backing a piece of the constitution that is directly at fault for the murder of countless children across the US each year. The problem for the left is that it's becoming increasingly harder to reason with a right whose collective heads are delving further up their arses and away from any semblance of reality.

Why do you believe this? Substantiate it...

Imo its a narrative being pushed by the right to shut down and handicap the left. They can condemn all they like and they aren't wrong in doing so, but saying this is the catalyst for the things we are seeing is straight up bullshit. It's the kind of psychology you use on your children to get them in line...

We all fecking know what brought us here, cnuts being cnuts.

And then like you say, to lose their shit over these things that are often side issues while being silent on the big stuff (that they're doing), or even backing it? That's peak hypocrisy...

One of the biggest talking points of the right is that the left hates free speech and values political correctness above facts. It's one of the reasons Trump (ironically, as Trump and facts in the same sentence...) was so successful with his brash anti-PC rhetoric. Sadly the left keeps proving their point by continuiously shooting themselves in the foot. A moron such as Trump should be one of the easiest candidates to defeat in a general election. The vandalism of his star is a minor thing but you can be sure Trump defenders will know how to use it to their advantage. I'm much more concerned about mainstream conservative speakers (I'm not talking about the alt-right) being disinvited or banned from speaking at universities due to student protests. Is your own position that weak that you can't handle someone who disagrees with you or, even worse, being offended by some of the things they say? Hell, even liberal Bill Maher was disinvited from speaking at Berkeley, presumingly for his views on religion.

Boom! Is there evidence of a Trump abortion cover up? Surely that will make the evangelicals heads explode? The mental gymnastics they will have to do to excuse that will be priceless.

Nope, they will say that the fetus gave up it's life for mans sins.

I'm sure the disabled reporter who was mocked disagrees with you. Or the journalists who are vilified for great reporting or the fine Latinos and Hispanic people who work hard making this country what it is or the LGBTQ people whose place in society hangs in the balance or..... you know where im going with this.
feck trump and his supporters. They dont give a shit about anything he does but we should all step back and kiss each others ass because someone took a pick axe to a slab of concrete with his name on it. feck that, I hope everyone that voted for him gets screwed one way or the other by this con man.

They say it wrong though, they say "twot" instead of "twat"!
Not just Americans. My mum does too

It sounds so much harsher...

You just saw what I think, I don't buy it. At all... People have been saying it for a while now and it just seems fishy to me. Sure it winds them up something rotten but did it make someone change their vote? Stay at home? Are you hearing soundbites like "Hillary was my pick until she called Earl deplorable... Feck that bitch I'm voting Trump!"

Championing the right as a protectors of free speech and the anti PC brigade is a bit rich considering how easily they get offended. Michelle Wolf and Samantha Bee come to mind. Or the loonies currently going after comedians on Twitter. And I'm pretty sure Maher ended up speaking at Berkeley.

That was her single biggest mistake (in terms of rhetoric and affecting the election) and my answer has to be absolutely yes! I don't know if that has ever been quantified but I'd be really shocked if it didn't affect the vote.

We're not far away from Trump promoting stuff on tell sell from the oval office are we?

I'm talking about talking points and perception, not reality. Although I probably wouldn't disagree with the notion that it's usually the (far) left which has bigger issues with free speech and engaging with people and positions they disagree.

Doubt it had a major impact, certainly not as much as Comey's intervention.

His very presence in the oval is a promotion of his brand since he has evaded being held accountable to the emoluments clause.

So no then?

EXACTLY. The day after the election people of color all over the country were terrorized by trump supporters and people of a different ethnicity in their jobs are vilified by these cnuts over shit like their order taking too long. People that look Arab are being asked for their papers and threatened with ICE and African american people having police called over meaningless shit.
A very nasty part of this country has been given a voice by trump and a party that continues to be the minority but due to dirty politics find it very easy to keep control. And now a conspiracy theory loon who turned a blind eye to child molestation has the fecking nerve to put his name in the hat for speaker. Lets also not forget that two Republican speakers ago, Dennis Hasert, was a fecking child molester. Republicanism is poison right now and have championed and by all accounts venerate a sleazy cnut that isnt even a Republican. He just hates people as much as them and blames sexual assault on the victims, just like them. Low info, low energy and downright cnuts the lot of them. And in the vein of herr trump, some are ok I assume.
And before the inevitable reply of "this is how he won and will win again", we will see how this plays out with a Dem majority in the house and this ass clown starts to really loose his shit. I, my family and friends chose to fight till the end, not send thoughts and prayers over a slab of concrete on a bodily fluid stained street.

Regardless of whether it affected the vote (i agree that it did along with Comey being too pious for his own good) her comment in full explains our understanding of trump supporters. Half of them are deplorable and the other half are in vast areas of the country that has been left behind and need federal help as their Republican run states cut their legs from under them. Hillary's message was swamped by a shitty campaign team and a media that would rather have a full screen of an empty podium awaiting trump incase he said something stupid while she was in a little box in the corner with no sound. Morning Joe was so far up his ass and screamed over missing emails. Different story now though after the inevitable mocking by trump when they call him out on his shit. America is eating itself from the inside out.

Everytime I read the name Ben Shapiro my day get's a little worse. I'm not a hateful person, but my God, there's just something undefinable about him (it's obviously his voice), that I so very deeply loathe.
This is exactly the type of statement that compelled people to vote for Trump.

Now please excuse me while I go pose for a photo with the KKK and mock the disabled.

Dont do it! I just did, and I cant unhear that smug pricks voice now and his endless strawman arguments.

It annoys me that people mix up “excellent debater” with “purveyor of salient, logical, factual points”.

Just because he can construct a clever counter-argument, is articulate and has developed a technique and tactic which is essentially akin to verbal slight of hand does not mean he’s a source of truth.

By all means study his techniques but completely disregard the content because 99.9% of it is absolute guff.

This perfectly summarizes Ben Shapiro. He's a pointless man, deliberately antagonistic, and I never learn anything from listening to him speak. Hopefully he fecks off from 'public discourse'.

I saw him "debating" about transgender persons and spotted him for what he was in two sentences. A troll by any other name....

In what way would that conversation manifest?

Abizzz: "So, front desk guy, do you think Trump is a joke?"
Front desk guy: "yes".
Nah, the only person I spoke to was the person who I was crashing at, and he didn't like Trump or the tower 1 bit. (Very close to UN building though, which suited his needs).
