Fantasy Premier League 18/19

Pogba and Lukaku are unlikely to play. KdB has just returned from holidays. Cresswell plays against Liverpool. Question marks over Shaw's performances. Don't think Zanka has good fixtures in the beginning.
Yeah I considered that but I can't be bothered transferring players in like that. Only when necessary so might just take the hit.

Sane likely to start for City?
Think Sane, Sterling, B.Silva and Mahrez will all share game time. With that in mind, not sure their huge prices are worth it.

I'm thinking Pedro and Lacazette could be good pieces of business. Not too expensive and seem to be having solid preseason.

Thoughts?

I mean in general. Although I can see arsenal scoring past Chelsea.
The same, personally.

I have Aguero and Firmino. And I am looking at both Auba and Lacazette GW3 onwards so it would be straight swap. But I don't want to touch them for the first 2 GWs cause it can go either way. After that, the fixtures ease up considerably for Arsenal.

Odd one, but anyone else think Lovren is a decent addition? Poses somewhat of a threat, looks a lot better with VDV, and Allison will surely mean more clean sheets/less goals. Also, looks like he's pretty set to play a lot.

Hard to know when world cup players will be back though for the big clubs.

Difficult start ahead, many expensive players and a few returning from holiday late. Unsure over Firmino/Aguero, will follow the news closely before the deadline.

De Gea

Coleman
Alexander-Arnold
Cedric
Van Aanholt

Mane
Sanchez
Sane
Pedro

Aguero
Firmino

Plan is to get in Auba and Ramsey after GW2, then of course look at how Kane is doing. Wouldn’t be surprised if he plays from GW1, Spurs just don’t have anyone else to play. Sanchez would be sacrificed due to his price, making room for Ramsey and Kane/Auba. I always try to play with cheapish defenders. De Gea could be sacrificed for a GK with a good schedule over time, freeing up some cash to trade Coleman/Van Aanholt for a more expensive choice. United’s defense is hard to figure out, same with City.

I know I probably shouldn't but I'm thinking of gambling on Sanchez early doors and switching to KDB when he's back. He seems the only City midfielder immune to rotation and as long as he isn't playing too deep he should be a great set and forget option. I might just go with Aguero and one of Mendy/Ederson to start depending on what I see in the Community Shield.

Also got my eye on Hudson Odoi. He's on fire in pre-season and only £4.5m. Obviously unlikely to be a regular but he could be a decent enabler.

Is he really a threat? He has six goals and three assists during his stay in England, that's like a goal every 20th game and an assist every 40th game. And Liverpool are going to give away silly goals for free as they always do due to their playing style. Much better bet going for their offensive wing-backs. Robertson is going to score well, and perhaps Alexander-Arnold if he starts most of the games.

I think he might be a safer option than TAA if you can't afford VVD or Robertson.

Thats my thinking.

At the moment I've got a team I'm pretty happy with, but unsure whether to stick with. I have no idea if Lovren, De Buyne, Trippier, Kane, even Kante (bench) will be ready to start the season.

Will Deulofeu have a lot of game time? Pretty inexpensive and could score some decent points.

Anyone else considering Fred as a 4th or 5th choice midfielder?
I usually like to have at least one player that not many own. It's a gamble sure, but he looked great the other day, and most likely he'll start, yes?

A lot of people going for TAA but I thought Liverpool will start with Clyne?

I'm really tempted by Lacazette ahead of Aubamayang but remember how he burnt me last season

That's true. I wouldn't go with a Liverpool RB as we have 3 fighting for the one spot. Although Gomez might finally get a go in his preferred CB position this season. He has been starting there pre season so hope that carries forward.

Agreed re City boys - will stay away for now.

Pedro is interesting - will he start though? And Laca a bit meh, defo rather Auba - I suppose he’s a bit cheaper though.

Question to guys leaving out Salah, although expensive but with 50% ownage - with balls so big, do you need a wheelbarrow to move around?

Thoughts on my team ?:

Begovic

Otmamendi Duffy Cedric

Salah Jorginho Eriksen Sanchez

Arnautovic Zaha Firmino

Subs Speroni Mooy Kelly Peltier.

Is Firmino likely to start GW1? Aguero?

My frontline is Tosun - Zaha at the moment, would put Auba in from GW3.

He'd be our first choice right winger when fit, so yeah. However, I'm not sure I'd put him in my team just yet as he's not played a minute thus far of our pre-season. It's been confusing the fans because he has been training with the team, but perhaps he's not being risked yet for some reason. I'd wait to see if he plays at all in our final pre-season game this Saturday vs. Sampdoria, and then if our manager says anything more about him mid-next week.

Well, Liverpool also have Matip and Gomez for the central position - so Lovren is also in danger of missing quite a lot of games in my opinion.

Indeed, all of Liverpool's defenders other than van Dijk and Robertson look rather risky picks at the mo, it doesn't seem clear at all which will be starting their games.

But what good budget strikers are there? Arnie, Tosun and Zaha are the best of a bad bunch.
Chris Wood is a decent bet, Burnley have a solid run of fixtures at the start to the season and he's only 6.5, scored 10 last season. Mitrovic is only 6.5 too and Fulham play attacking football.

Pretty sure this is how I'm starting. Quite happy with those players for the initial 10 games. 6 or 7 that will be main stays. Think Schurrle and Silva will have good seasons for their price. If anything is likely to change it will be Tosun coming out but he can have 4 games to save his spot

Ederson

Laporte Baines Alonso

Salah Eriksen schurrle B Silva Milijovejic

Firmino Tosun

Subs: Fabianski zanka malone kamara

I've buckled! @CassiusClaymore doubts have crept into my mind and I've come up with this team

----------------Schmeichel-----------------
---------Bellerin----Cedric----Azpi
Sanchez-Kenedy-Pedro-Sessegnon-Salah
--------Tosun------------Aubamayeng

Bench - Speroni, Mendy, Doherty, Quaner

Nothing like naming your line up a week before the match

Ederson

Stones Cahill Tarkowski Maguire

Salah Jorginho Neves Mane

Firmino Tosun

Subs
Stekelenburg
Jazz Richards
Torreira
Aubameyang

Jorginho is a DM and won't getting many points. You'd be better off starting Mooy.

No full-backs? Two Liverpool-midfielders and two defensively minded midfielders? Nah mate, this needs a change I think. Jorginho is as much of a Fantasy-player as Matic and Kante, get rid. Neves not going to score lots of points either. Get de Gea for Ederson if you can, to get United-cover at the back instead of our defenders. Torreira too is defensive, will not score you many points. Sell Auba and bring him in at GW3 at the earliest... you can spend it on someone else in GW1 and 2.

Defence looks a little bit on the cheap side, and midfield looks too heavy. Remember that last year many of the premium defenders (top 6 clubs) got more points than popular midfielders who cost more.
I'm not saying it's wrong but I would maybe balance the money a bit more in the beginning. Maybe after a couple of rounds you see that Aguero, Lukaku and Auba are all banging them in, or maybe Alonso, Davies and Mendy are must have's. If you got a cheap defence and need to bring in Alonso and Mendy, you have a problem.
Same with Firmino as your most expensive fwd, difficult to switch to a premium fwd with one transfer.
I'm going Robertson Mendy/Ota Davies - easy to downgrade if disaster.
Salah in midfield - easy to trade down, even get Kane in with a double transfer.
One expensive fwd - easy switch to Auba, Lukaku, Aguero or who ever is on fire.
Rest of your team looks good. :)

I'm thinking something like this:

Otamendi - Davies - Cedric
Salah- Sanchez - Richarlison- £5-6m (Hudson-odoi?)
Aguero - Zaha - Arnautovic

I don't know what that would cost but you get the picture.
If your intentions are to pack the midfield, then please ignore my post. It could of course work.

Cheers for the heads up. I know I didn't go with any full backs but instead opted for CB's dangerous on set pieces. The Liverpool trio are in as if one is scoring then chances are one is assisting. The other two mids I admit need a rethink.

Not sure. See if he starts the community shield.

 Nice side. Mendy on the bench though? Show off.

Lucas Moura looks like a good shout at 7m. Think he will start a bit more this season.
