It's the Fergie vs. Beckham sequel, isn't it? I picked Jose to keep, though I don't want either to leave. But in the case of player (singular) vs. manager, it should always be the player getting the boot. I don't like the idea of where the other road leads.

Good point and I'd try weasel my way out of that by saying, that unlike Jose, Moyes won diddly squat before. So it's not like he was a great manager who was going through a tough time. Moyes was taking the club down, so he should've been booted out before it'd ever come to Moyes vs. De Gea situation, is what I'm trying to say.

To be honest, I wouldn't take issue with both leaving (and I would have picked it if it was an option). All the top clubs have a merry go round of managers and players with a behind the scenes structure making sure things go over smoothly. I have gotten tired of so much focus being on players and managers instead of the long term future of the club.

If Pogba wants Mourinho gone it doesn't mean he wants to run the club, it means he'd be happier working at United without Mourinho there. It's no different to any job where we have a manager who is a bellend and we'd be happier if they left. Ultimately it's for those in charge to decide what is best for the club. Is Pogba the problem or is it Mournho? Given the history one of them has for causing havoc and destroying all in their path, I know who I'd prefer to go.
Poll is raw! I think Pogba has not demonstrated he is worth £85m, even in todays market. Jose has us playing the worst football i have seen in years! He complains about everything and reminds me of a shadow, turns everything into darkness. The choice is a no brainer though, Pogba all the way. If Pogba was the 'returning home' UTD hero he is being made to be on here he would be taking whatever is troubling him and dealing with it for the good of the club. If he doesn't agree with his agent over the rumoured moves he should say so publicly. Whether or not he will go soon is a mute point, Pogba will go at some point.
He was so much better for France than he is at UTD. That is not all Jose's fault. Paul's attitude is not solely Jose's problem. I cannot stand players that elevate themselves above the team and manager. You could argue Ronaldo does but he can get away with it to a degree because he wins matches and is ruthlessly consistant performer, worth it. Pogba doesn't have that status.
I am also beginning to actually feel sorry for Mourinho and wouldn't blame him for walking away. He is far from perfect and some of his character traits are unsavoury to say the least but the press absolutely thrash him constantly, pantomime villain style. He doesn't get everything right but clearly he is working massively hard and has undeniably improved us but on here there is nothing but hatred for the man.

Obviously De Gea. The canteen lady is a much more important figure in the club than David fecking Moyes. He's like Mr. Bean but not funny at all.
The thing is, there are no good candidates to replace Jose so it's not just about Pogba vs Mourinho. It's also about their potential replacements if They leave.
It's time for Pogba to roll his sleeves up and put in a shift for us week in / week out. Show us his football is more important than his hair. Roy Keane would have been thrashing him on a weekly basis until he did.
I don't give two shits what Pogba has done in the World Cup. I care about how he transcends it to his club form. He gives more of a shit about France because they're his country. He's quite clearly not loyal to any club to that degree so it's a flawed point.

Keys has come out and said that some of the senior players are just fed up with Mourinho and his antics. If true, this could be a bad start to the season for us unless it's sorted very quickly. The board will have to step in and sort it out.

Most fans don't want to watch negative football. Pogba understandably don't want to waste 3-4 of his prime years as a footballer playing park the bus football.

The fact that Pogba, supposedly our best player, wants to leave is a damning indictment of Jose's man management. Same goes for Martial. Puts our so-called "progress", 2nd place and 2 trophies in perspective -- something's wrong when your best player wants shot of the manager after what can be classed as middling success.

Jose's past is in the past, he hasn't brought that to us and it doesn't look like he ever will. Shit on a stick football and one of the most unlikeable personalities in football is not exactly good selling points for Jose.
Definitive progress season upon season is and that is a massive selling point.
We certainly don't want it turning into what went on at Chelsea. Hope it's sorted before the season starts or it could ruin it for us.
Real Madrid are a good example that the stratergy of keeping a core of world class players together while changing the manager can lead to success. Chelsea have also succeeded to a certain extent with the same model. And of course some clubs have failed doing that too.

Pogba is many times the player Martial is, obvs. Yet I can see why Martial might feel aggrieved by Jose’s treatment of him. Not saying he’s right, but the notion that he’s been unfairly treated isn’t totally ridiculous.
Pogba on the other hand has had nothing to complain about. Jose has thrown club legends (Scholes, Neville) under the bus defending him. Dropped him what: once? Twice? Changed formation to help him. Bought Matic to help him. Bought Fred to help him.
It may all be press bollox anyway, but if Pogba really wants out then I won’t be bothered. And if Jose walks tomorrow, I won’t be bothered either.

well i never said it was the only reason did I? Of course Pogba has to brunt some of the responsibility but for me, Jose is the main reason. I dont think Jose really know how to get the best out of him or how to accommodate him in his tactics. I know I would much rather keep Pogba who has tonnes of potential in his footballing ability over the potential I see in Jose style, brand and type of football.
I voted for Mourinho to stay because, regardless of his foibles, the board can't allow a player having a childish tantrum to dictate who they should employ as coach.

Well he's played him in a 3 and in a 2 with very good players. How else is anyone meant to accommodate him?

Tactics are not the same as positions - it is not FM where you plug players into a formation and hope they do well. Pogba is played way too defensively and he then goes missing. One example, the City game we came from behind to win 3 -2, he started the game in a defensive role and was absolutely awful in the first half. The second half after 50ish mins, Jose plugs him behind the striker and he starts making runs into the box more often causing problems. 70ish min we are 3 2 up. Pogba was a massive influence on this. I am hoping that the signing of Fred rectifies this and allows Pogba to roam more in attacking positions. My gut feeling (and yes it is because I am a huge Jose basher and I dont care what you or anyone else thinks) is that Jose will still have us on the defensive line straining Pogba from making too many forward runs into the box where he is most dangerous. I hope I am wrong and they both do great and we win the league but I would much rather keep Pogba than Jose if given the choice on the basis I think Pogba has more to offer the club that Jose does.
