Fantasy Premier League 18/19

What are the caf's thoughts on getting the absolute best 11 (paying particular attention to guaranteed starters) I can find for GW1 and getting a load of the cheapest subs going. I like to get off to a good start.

Then using a wildcard after GW1 to then pick a more well thought out, long term team-which at the same time will also allow me to get in the price rises early and increase team value for later down the line?

In my head it seems well-thought out but I'm guessing perhaps a stupid move?

Can someone put the code for the league in the first post. The link is not working.

Not at all. I think it's quite a common tactic and with several £4m defenders looking good for starts this season it's certainly doable.

If Danny Ings gets his move today he could be a decent third choice striker shout, particularly if he goes to Palacde considering the Zaha situ. Vydra and Mitrovic are also good options.

Reshaped by team - any feedback?

Fabianski
Mendy - Robertson - Doherty
Salah - Mane - Richarlison - Bernardo
Aguero - Zaha - Tosun

Subs: Ryan, Wan-Bisaka, Cedric, Stephens

Help!

If you had to pick from these players, who would you go for?

A) Salah (13.0), Kamara (4.5 - Bench player), Tomkins (4.5), Tosun (7.0), Jota (6.5) = 35.5
B) Mane (9.5), Firmino (9.5), Luiz (5.5), King (6.5), Stephens (4.5 - Bench player) = 35.5

West Ham have Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in their first 5 fixtures so Fabianski may want swapping.

Any chance someone could drop us the code for main league? Ta

Not sure the strength of the rest of team justifies two mid-price strikers to be honest. Fair enough if you had no mid-price midfielders.
Similarities with my team but feel mine is stronger..

Pretty happy with mine here..

Foster
Wan-B Shaw Robertson
Salah Eriksen BSilva McArthur
Aguero Firmino Zaha

Patricio Doherty Peltier Stephens

0.5 leftover to replace Shaw.
Plan on rotating keepers this season, hence two 4.5s. Not sure if there's a better option than Foster, or who to start in first game (Foster v Brighton, Patricio v Everton).
Also not sure whether to start Wan-B v Fulham or Doherty v Everton.

Interesting, cheers for the feedback. Prefer my set up with Mendy over Shaw and fancy Richarlison to have a far bigger impact than McArthur.

So it’s basically whether you think Firmino will outscore Tosun more than those two will outscore McArthur / Shaw.

Yeah, fair. Will be interesting to see how it pans out!

I think I'd go for Arni over Tosun. Even though he has much more difficult fixture, Everton are looking especially poor. Then again, he could score a hattrick in the opener.

I'm tempted to change Zaha to him.

Zaha to Arnie?

Got my eyes firmly on Arnie as well, if they had better fixtures he’d be my first choice of the 7.0m strikers!

I quite like that price point this year actually, there’s a load of options and should be quite easy to swap players around based on fixtures / form.

Yeah very true. Whoever gets the pick right off the bat should be in for some extra cash too.

Can't decide whether to keep Shaw in for at least the first game (would have to be two realistically), or do Doherty to a 4.0, which gives me enough to do Shaw to Mendy off the bat.

I’m hoping one of Morata or Lacazette nails down a place in the first team. If either of those can be the regular striker for Chelsea / Arsenal they’ll be a great option given their price point.

Ones to watch I think!

Aguero vs Lukaku?

I swear whenever I've brought in Aguero in the past he's immediately got injured or benched.

Taking a few risks with this side, but I'm happy with it for GW1. I can imagine we won't be seeing a lot of first teams until GW2/3:

What are thoughts on Deeney/Gray as a differential? Watford have great set of opening fixtures: Brighton, Burnley (A) and Palace

Gray should start all those games leading the line. Deeney will probably start the home games playing just behind Gray, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was left out away at Burnley. Both have a decent chance of scoring when playing together, though Gray's scoring record has been slightly better in recent months. The only possible benefit of Deeney is that he might take penalties when on the pitch. Overall, between the two Gray should be the better option.

Apologies in advance if that turns out wrong somehow.

 That’s all I ever say now. Sound logic and judgement backed up by relevant statistics with a clause of this never fecking works so don’t blame me when Kane can’t score a goal in August and Etienne Capoue becomes Zidane for a few weeks.

Firminho and zaha up top. Eriksen, kdb, pogba, Salah and Kante in midfield. Maguire, Alexander A and bellerin and ederson in goal.

Thoughts???

Cheers..going with Gray (for now)

Decided to pass on Cairney and go for the more expensive Jota. Weak/cheap bench to afford it.

Thoughts please?

I think I'm going mad. This must be the 219312379123174 time I've changed my team.

I'm horny for Watford at the moment. Two great opening fixtures - tomorrow my mad mind will surely be tinkering with some new unknown guys.

De Gea
Kabasele - Shaw - Smalling - Mendy - Holebas
Salah - B. Silva
Aguero - Firmino - Tosun

Chalobah, Billing, Højbjerg

+2.5 in the bank so I can do some easy business for De Bruyne/Aubameyang/Song after gw2.

Luiz and Shaw will probably not play much, and definitely not score many points. Jota and Murphy highly variable I would assume too, Bernardo will be benched a lot - even though he’s good. You’re missing a midfielder here, and those defenders are not going to help you.

I'm done

Ederson
VVD - Bailly - Daniels
Salah - Mané - B.Silva - Jota - Richarlison
Aguero - Zaha

1 mill itb. Bench sucks obv.

For the prices you can get, I'd switch B.Silva for Mkhi and upgrade Bailly for a top wing back with the money saved.

Nice team though.

I personally see more potential in Holebas than Doherty - Watford doesn't concede much under their new manager, and he has a lot of crosses. I think you'd have the same attacking output with Trent as with Robertson, which could free up 1 mil to get Ederson.

Why Fabianski? How many points do you estimate he'll get with his tough opening programme?

Can someone kindly post the code to join the main league? Thanks.
