I don't see how it is a disgrace at all. The achievement is reaching the hall of fame - it's not measured on who else gets there at the same time as you.
But the difference in ability between lewis and urlacher is outstanding. He and like some of the others deserve to go in on their own at that position that year.

Lets take qb... say matt ryan he will likely make hof because hes a stat monster. Could you imagine him and brady going in the same year both 1st ballot if they both happen to retire the same year?

Its a disservice to brady i feel having another player at your position going in 1st ballot with you that couldn't even lace up his boots

I wouldn't have thought people consider Ryan a future HOF'er tbh, even if he ends up with great stats.

Even if you follow that line of thought, it'd be a disservice to Brady if basically any other QB enters in the same year as him, even though the likes of Brees and Roethlisberger are equally as deserving of a (first ballot) entr and shoe-in HOFers.

For those interested, Hard Knocks kicks off tonight with the Browns. Will be very interesting, I guess (Coleman trade, Josh Gordon stuff, Mayfield as a first pick, the QB battle, ...).

It's not a disservice at all. It would be a disservice when/if all these current HoF QBs retire within years of each other and you make them sit around and wait their turn in line. What order do you put them in? It's an absurd proposition.

Agreed!

We released Malcolm Mitchell?! Braxton Berrios is actually gonna get 45 targets in week 1.

His knee was apparently still an issue, which is why they signed Decker.

Just seeing the Mitchell news. That sucks terribly. Was expecting him to be a big part of the offense this season in place of Crooks. A shame.

Shame what’s happened with Mitchell. He made key plays in that SB comeback & I was excited to see more of him.

Hope he finds a new team & has better luck with injuries.

Is there a site where you can watch Hard Knocks for free if you don't have HBO and don't want to sign up to anything?

Things just got pretty heated between Cam and Benjamin pregame. I guess he didn’t take Benjamin’s comments all that well then, although they were pretty unnecessary to begin with.

What did he say?

The way he waves off that guy  Cam really does come across as a diva sometimes.

Browns looking sharp so far - especially Taylor and Njoku. Mayfield has a TD pass as well.

Mayfield looks like he's been in the NFL for years. Very Drew Brees like.

There were some anthem protests last night, despite all that had been said in the off-season. Wonder what the NFL’s revised policy will be after the initial stupid one to fine players has been put on hold.

Cant wait for this to come back. Anyone know if the BBC will have the highlights show again?

No idea what depth-chart strings Mayfield played against but his footwork and his throws looked pretty good.

Mostly a combination of 1st and 2nd stringers. He did look pretty damn good though. Footwork, awareness, accuracy, improvisation.... was all there.

That Shamarko Thomas ejection in the Colts game was awful.

What exactly is the defender supposed to do?

I might understand a penalty flag, but ejection for that!!! This new rule is going to lead to the same controversy the catch-rule has for the last 2/3 years.

Derrius Guice torn ACL, out for the season. Feck me.

Broncos looking pretty poor against Minnesota.....led by Siemian no less.

Doesn’t Hue Jackson have a good rep around the NFL? Seems a bit crap to me.

Jarvis Landry is my guy though. And that drummer. And that Taylor Swift guy giving financial advice.

WTF that topless shot of Miles Garrett. Looks like they gave the ‘Juice’ nickname to the wrong Brown.

Chad Kelly promoted to backup QB after Paxton Lynch stunk it up again in the first preseason game. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Lynch cut in the not too distant future.
