Fantasy Premier League 18/19

Activated my wildcard and now I regret it! feck!
Team is now

Patricio
Trippier Alonso Mendy
Salah Hazard Schurrle Pereyra
Mitrovic Aguero Zaha

Hamer, Bennet (wolves) Schurrle, Stephens

Plan is to get rid of Hazard after he lets me down yet again and get Kane.

Thoughts caftards?
You've listed Schurrle twice.

Solid team and same bench as mine. I'd be tempted to lower one of the defenders to a 5.0 (TAA?) then upgrade Schurrle to maybe Mkhi?

Need help , i have played wildcard

My Current team after playing WC is :-

Etheridge , Hamer

Robertson, Alonso, Mendy, Wan-Bissaka, Fosu Mensah

Neves, Walcott,Mane, Moura,peraya

Aquero, Kane, Ings

But Here is another option i have

Etheridge , Foster

Robertson, Alonso, Mendy, Wan-Bissaka, Fosu Mensah

Neves, Walcott, Salah Moura,peraya

Aquero/Kane, Mitrovic, Wilson

Which one i should go ahead? If option 2 then Aquero or kane?

I’m going to see what Salah produces this weekend and then reassess. If he blanks I think I may drop him for that run of games, which are terrible.

I’m a big advocate of owning Salah but I can see a lot of casual players dropping him if he blanks which could cause his price to tumble given his ownership.

I had always planned a wildcard at this international break but im going to hold fire now.
My team is pretty solid and includes Mendy, Robertson, Mane, Salah, Aguero. Some of the current must-haves.
Also have Patricio, Tosun, Shaw, Walcott, Pedro, Zaha, Dont want to knee-jerk into anything.

A solid start so far with 200 points, could have been better but could have been a lot worse.
Will hold on and wait. Could wildcard now and then 3 or 4 players get injured in a month and have to transfer loads out.
Im keeping Mane and Salah too. They're fixture proof IMO. The only question is if Salah can keep up to last seasons standards, if not then could possibly downgrade and get Kane instead.
If so id keep Mane as Id want some Liverpool attacking cover and Im never overly fussed on Firmino, he blows hot and cold.

As an Everton fan I really cant stress this enough but I would not have any Everton defenders near any Fantasy Football team. We are so poor at the back at the minute. That may change with signings but we've been conceding goals for fun during pre-season. Pickford didnt play any of those games but theres only so many saves he can make. Every time a team attacks we're so wide open. Jagielka and Keane have no pace, Schneiderlin (also slow) and Gueye cant pass or do anything with the ball. Its a real problem.
Coleman may pop up with the odd assist/goal but you're looking for clean sheets from your defence.

In fact betting wise put Everton in your both teams to score bets every week. You'll clean up.
As is Wolves could score for fun this weekend.

This has held up so far too, even against Rotherham. Ive been winning money off it! The defence has been better than I thought it would have but still leaky.

Getting to that stage where Kane is a must-have I think...

Definitely a case to squad build towards him at least. Personally, I’m waiting till after the internationals and probably their game vs Liverpool.

I actually did Trippier out (because he's flagged) and took in Shaw, then went Shurrle out and Maddison in.
A thought about going without Salah has now slipped into my mind. Fixtures are not kind to Liverpool going forward! Will get Mkhi and Kane if I have the balls.

I swear everyone is trying to convince themselves to drop Salah

After this week Liverpool have:

Sat: Spurs (A) - Prem
Tue: PSG (H) - UCL
Sat: Southampton (H) - Prem
Tue: Chelsea (H) - EFL
Sat: Chelsea (a) - Prem
Wed: Napoli (a) - UCL
Sun: City (H) - Prem

Over that run I don't think it's unreasonable to expect, say, Hazard & Alonso to outscore Salah & a 4.0 def. Especially when the former have Bournemouth, Cardiff and West Ham up next.

More importantly though, it's the fun move to make. Who wants to own the same 13m Liverpool player everyone else has all season? :boring:

Feel as if I wasted my wildcard last week. Should have found a way in for Kane as I planned.

Will see how Aubameyang does this weekend, and if he bottles it again then I'm going to get rid.

Exactly! Having him since start and I know my side will be much better balanced by dropping Salah for Hazard, but the risks are far too high! 1 game where Salah scores a hattrick and you have dropped nearly 500k places

Whoa, great team mate. Seems crazy you’ve managed to get those big hitters in with current budgets.

I’m not a huge fan of Neves, but apart from that looks awesome.

That works in reverse too though. In any week where Hazard outperforms Salah you gain ground on every Salah owners while also having an extra 2.5m on them in the rest of your team. High risk, high reward.

Probably will be a mistake but it's a fun mistake dammit.

Nah, I’m minded to agree with you over these run of games. For me it’s all going to depend on this week whether I drop him temporarily I think, as well as whether Hazard explodes as expected.

Running with this team. Took a hit but I won't wildcard this early on.

----------------Ederson---------------
Alonso----TAA---Wan Bissaka--Mendy
Mkhitaryan---Gray--Eriksen---Salah
---------Zaha-------Agguerro--------

Subs: Speroni, Dings, Tarkowski, Neves.

Would have started Dings over Gray but he's not trained all week.

Good players are capable of scoring against anyone , i don't pay too much attention to the fixtures unless it's cannon fodder at home for City or Liverpool.

Thanks :D I’m using wildcard this round so that’s why. I also several hours transferring countless players in and out, and eventually settled for this.

Salah for 13m when he isn’t even taking penalities and is immune to bonus points just feels wrong to me. He doesn’t look fully sharp (yet) either.

I've tried convincing myself too but the same applied last season and he got 300 points, 80 odd points more than Kane who does take pens and gets plenty of bonus.

Yep. Lot of my transfers will also be based on this week.

I like that team. Unsure about Moura long term though, and also question marks over Ramsey. But on paper that is a ridiculous midfield.

edit - also no Salah? Oooof. Brave.
It's risky, Salah is defiently going to get big numbers again this season, probably leading midfielder but I think the others will be closer behind him. Not having him allows me to get 3 midfielders in the 7-8.5m bracket

So,

Lucas Moura (wat, LIV)
or
Pedro (BOU, CAR)

I know Pedro has a slightly higher rotation risk (though he's started every game) but are those fixtures too good to ignore?

If I knew Pedro would definitely start it'd be a no brainer, but this rumour has been creeping in that he's a rotation risk. I can see him being key under Sarri though, he's excelled with that profile of player before at Napoli.

Him being classified as a mid is the key.

A 30 G + 5 A season for Kane = 20 G + 12 A season for Salah. Who would you back to do better than these numbers?

Think its willian who needs to earn his place rather than Pedro so it's its just a couple of GWs, you should be grand

Oh I have no doubt he's capable of scoring against anyone and likely will. The question is whether he'll score enough in this particular run of fixtures to justify his price tag.

So will he score enough against Leicester, Spurs, Southampton, Chelsea and City to be worth 2.5m more than a Hazard facing Bournemouth, Cardiff, West Ham, Liverpool and Southampton? I'm happy to take the chance on him not doing so, especially as he's only likely to be heavily captained for one of those five games.

That’s using last seasons stats though, when he was on fire and no defender seemed to be able to get near him. He isn’t that sharp/fit (yet) like I said, and appears to be trying overly hard at times. Just my view on watching him the first 3 games. That can always change of course and he has the ability to bust into life at anytime.

Liverpool will likely raise their game and had good success last season against bigger sides. They aren't in full flow this season but the tougher games might bring it out of them.
If his price looks to fall though I'll get rid for Hazard and rebuy after

I’m happy with Salah just for the captaincy material. I would never trust Hazard to be my go-to captain, or trying to alternate. I have Salah and then the occasional Aguero for the fodders. Kane would be another regular captain option but Salah is a safer bet and just £0.5 more.
