Fantasy Premier League 18/19

wildcard played,

got rid of Salah and Pogba for Mane and Hazard and got rid of Firminho and Zaha for Lukaku and Rondon but may change that as I've a bit in the bank, also had enough to bring Robertson in

Mcarthy

Mendy Robertson Schlupp Cedric

Hazard Mane Moura

Aguero Lukaku Rondon

Fabianksi - Wan Bissaka - Hughes - Billings

Will posibly change the odd one or two around before the next game week as have 0.4m in the bank

Pretty certain I'll be taking B Silva out for moura after the next game week looking at spurs upcoming fixtures

I'm now thinking of keeping Salah and going without both Mane & Hazard. Crazy I know. Something like this..

Patricio - Foster

Alonso - Mendy - Robertson - Shaw - AWB

Salah - D Silva - Pedro - Pereyra - Billing

Mitrovic - Aguero - Wilson

£1.1m in the bank. Possibly make Billing into Fraser if I want top drawer bench cover and a selection headache.

What formation do you intend to play? If you want 3 strikers, upgrade a mid and downgrade the other. If it's 2 upfront, downgrade the 3rd striker and upgrade midfield

I kind of deliberately want it to be somewhat flexible to cover rotation now that the CL is about to start.

I'd start GK, Alonso, Robertson, Mendy, Silva, Salah, Pedro, Aguero every game naturally and then probably pick 3 from Shaw, Mitro, Wilson, Pereyra depending on fixtures with the one not picked first on the bench.

With 3 City players I'm always mindful of a Pep curveball and need to be prepped for it.

Fair enough if that's how you play it. I'd remove Silva, pick a cert starter there and keep the 4th sub a guaranteed 2pter like say Stephens. Worst case scenario, you take the 2pt off the 11th player. No harm done.

That would be putting Mane back in and can I even be sure that he is guaranteed to start every game when the CL begins and they've got Shaquiri chomping at the bit for a game? I think David Silva is fairly nailed for City tbh and a decent differential at the moment. Most of the games he missed last season where because of his kid weren't they?

I read somewhere that Pep has said he intends to use him less this season. Not sure how that true it is and even if it was, the injury to KDB changes things. In any case, my point was more about the final sub option being a solid 2 worth 4.5 while you upgrade a striker is how I'd go but I can see if you'd rather have more options at the cost of one of them being a level above the rest.

You're right he did say that which is why I started the season with Bernardo Silva instead assuming it would be him that would be the main beneficiary. I'm guessing that with KDB's injury and Mahrez not really hitting the ground running this has complicated things and he's now having to move out wide (effectively playing rwb) with David Silva taking the main central attacking role.

He should be fairly safe until KDB comes back though and then I'll reassess.

True, agree with that.

Feel like Cardiff are more likely to park the bus well so I slightly favour Aguero.

Might be a lie to the media but after Arsenal Warnock was praised for taking the game to them and he said something like how" youl likely nott big points against the big sides anyway so you may as well have a go."

Hmm De Bruyne down to 9.7.

When is he due back?

One of the few that I would say are nailed on to play in the City team.

Ah right, cheers.

One to keep an eye on then.

Hopefully he drops a bit more in value before then.
Yeah, I'm hoping he keeps dropping so that I can just swap him without taking any point hits.

As prices stand I could have this team (0.1 left over).
Not sure if getting Salah back in is worth Ings up front, but I'd have all the heavy hitters..

You know Ings can't play against Liverpool right? Kamara rarely plays so you'd be fielding 2 from Bennett/AWB/Guendouzi in GW6.

I can do the same and the base 7 is ridiculously strong but you're only an injury or a rotation (CL games starting next week) or 2 away from a disaster. The more I look at my options the more I feel one of that midfield power trio has to go.

If you replace Hazard with Pedro then Ings and Guendouzi can become Mitrovic & Maddison/Richarlison for instance.

Replace Salah with David Silva and Ings can become Lacazette, Guendouzi can become Hughes or you can upgrade Hamer to a playing £4.5m keeper.

It'd take me a good few weeks to get there anyway so could plan Ings round that. Wouldn't need to bring Salah in til last.
My previous idea was no Salah (which I've already just done), Mitro in for Kamara and change to three up top, possibly upgrade Zaha to Lacazette, Richarlison for Mhiki, keep Ederson in net.

I really want Lacazette but it means losing one of Mitrovic or Wilson which I'm loathe to do. Hmmmmm...

Is Lacazette guaranteed to start though? Think they are gonna rotate the front 3/4 a lot this season.

Man you can say that about so many players now it's become a bit of a cliche. By all accounts he was Arsenal's best player in the last game and they look a lot better when he's playing with Auba. If he isn't going to get a run in the side now then when is he?

I think FPL is about having the right players at the right time and this could be one of those times. I didn't realise he actually scored 17 goals last season which is pretty good considering how poor Arsenal were for large chunks of it.

As much as I agree with the second part of your post, the rotation bit makes it difficult to have players at the appropriate/opportune moment. That's why people prefer players who are nailed on in their respective positions. Which is why it's risky to take a punt on expensive players cause a couple of meek games and you are left trailing behind.
