"I don't think the pitch has had any impact on the game whatsoever so I don't see why it should be allowed in the Champions Leage as it clearly favours the home team"
 I think i heard that.

It was a very open game.

They were unlucky at times. We took our chances.

They are a good team.

With every game I see improvements.

the Boys fought on every inch while we were uncomfortable with the pitch, so the opening 20min was a bit nervous. I hope they continue with this spirit in coming games and give Juventus and Valencia a game, they might get lucky. It was the quality of players and finishing that made the difference. Great to see rest time for Young, Valencia and Fellaini. Fred Dalot were impressive, just need a few more games to make them ready for EPL action.

Agree with all the praise for the full backs - after seeing so much worry about that position on here, it must be relief to see Shaw and Dalot do so well.

Surprised there isn't more excitement around Pereira, I thought he was excellent when he came on, good range of passing and great dribbling skills. Nice to see so much youth on the pitch doing well last night

A goal in honour of every league title won by the gaffer.

Respect. Respect. Respect.

Players like Fred, Rashford, Martial , Dalot haven't been first choice and so understandably we looked disjointed.

Not looking for entertaining football in CL always, a win is enough. So good job jobbed.

Big plus was Diogo DaGOAT.

Sometimes we are slow to start and sometimes we are quick to let the foot off the gas, I hope Jose does something to fix this.
Anyway good win, enjoyed the match.

I'm still trying to figure out why people are saying Martial had a good game? Why, because he scored a lucky goal that should have been easily put away with his left, but got a lucky deflection because he cut back to his right? He made a couple of good moves wide and then gave the ball away. I thought he was the worst player on the field followed by Rashford. In fact, Mourinho was about to take him out but then he scored, and you don't sub someone after they score. But had that gone wide he was going off right then and there...

Some negativity, not from me for once. We would of lost that game last year and the pitch is actually hard to play on if you are not used to it day in and out. Dalot had strong start to his career, early days but he and Shaw could do well this year. We even had martial having a solid second half. Biggest disappointment for me again is Rashford. Same mistakes as usual, tries too hard and not clicking. Think he looks jaded.

Up until Pogba scored the first in the 35th minute Young Boys were clearly the better team.

Second half was comfortable. Young Boys had a couple of clear cut chances though...We were lucky to have kept a clean sheet

Onto the next one

I don't think it was as comfortable as some of you think. Specially in the first half. Much better second half though. But that seems to be the thing with us these days - one half good, another one not that good.

I'm not going to pick on any of the performances but I'm happy that Dalot had a decent debut and Shaw seems to be continuing his good form after that injury. Most important thing is to get our group games off to a win, and an away win. Done.

This pic makes me all cuddly inside.

Anyone who expects a comfortable game away from home for 90 minutes in the champions league is deluded.

United rode out the first half hour and by the end of the game cruised to an easy three points with minimum effort exerted.

Good result.

Annoying thing was it appeared at the start of the game like we thought we were playing some semi pro side. Our players were just letting people run off them and meandering out of their positions.

At the end of the day this team won their league ahead of FC Basle, who are invariably a massive pain in the neck, especially away from home. You'd think the players would have been made aware of this.

All good in the end but if it wasn't for a goal out of nothing and a very dodgy penalty the game could have been an unnecessary massive struggle.

It was pretty obvious that they would come out on the attack so would be dominant at the start. They are also used to that pitch. Once we settled down and got ahead it was more comfortable than some are giving them credit for.

Really good result. I thought we would struggle but it was very comfortable in the end.

3-0 away from home in any game is a good result. Valencia at home next up, providing we win that we're in good shape for the double header with Juve.

I was wandering after the match. Has Martial lost a bit of pace, a bit of confidence, and quite a bit of his dribbling ability?

Fairly solid performance, not the real runaway train some would like but the points are in the bag and Pogba/Martial scoring was absolutely crucial to their form.

Didn't think the game was great, but happy with 3 away wins in a row!

No just lacking in match rhythm. He got better as the game went on.

Yes, Pogba and Martial scored but They only did it against not only a lesser club but also a young club.

I think They also deserve the Lukaku treatment, no?

Not sure what the point of this is, both have scored against top opposition since they've been with us.

Missed the game and just turned on Virgin Sport to get Graham Souness and Mick McCarthy's analysis. Apparently we were awful, lucky to score, irrelevant that we have won three in a row, and if we meet a better passing team like City, then we will be destroyed. Was it really that bad?
A fitting pundit for Virgin Sport because He acts like one.

Good comfortable win, Pogba was class.
I am worried about Fred. From what I have seem from him so far, he isn't particularly good at defending nor attacking. That is primarily concerning for me but it is quite early to draw definite conclusions, we'll see.
GGMU!

The 0-2 was a beauty.

Haven't seen most of the match, since I was watching the switch program where it mixes all highlights together in real time. It's amazing for an ADD lunatic like me.

I can’t watch any match where there are MUPPETS WITH DRUMS so that’s most of the CL games.

40,000 at the Emptyhad Such a big club haha

We were fuming cause the club didn't buy any fullbacks.
Now we have Shaw and Dalot looking very promising, funny how things unfold sometimes.

Happy for the win and no injuries on that pitch.

Is it funny or is it that the club/Ed and Jose actually do know what they're doing?

The score line flattered us. Great finish for the first. Never a penalty - Pogba's "technique" for penalties annoys the sh*t out of me. Although Rash was poor and Martial until the second half. I think the team looks more balanced with them both in as opposed to Sanchez. Was it me or did the players struggle with the ball getting stuck at their feet on that artificial pitch? It did seem to make them dither. The passing had to be sharper too. Worryingly Lukaku was bang average.

Dalot looked good as does Shaw.

He had no service. The only time he got on the end of a cross or any kind of ball was the offside goal

There's no chemistry between the front three. They looked like strangers.

Rashford and Martial lack confidence atm nothing much seems to be coming off for them. Hopefully Martial can build off his goal

I like Lukaku, but at a club like Manchester United, lack of service isn’t always an excuse for our starting striker. Not too long ago we had a striker in RVP, who could score goals from nothing. Rooney at his peak too.
