or they want her to carry the can for a bad deal and oust her in the spring saying they would have basically made Europe a colony who paid taxes to us just to be our bitch or some other such rubbish ... but lets May carry the can and then they can take over the proper negotiations and move straight to a canada style free trade which in fairness seems to be ok with the eu as well

So possibly their ineptitude is actually them (accidentally) playing a blinder
 
An ironic piece of justice for the Brexiters would be for the UK to be stuck in a 3 year period, paying the EU, having to accept all their laws and having no representation in the EU parliament, Council or Commission.

What the Brexiters lied about before the referendum actually becomes what they unintentionally voted for. You couldn't make it up.

It won't happen because May would have to give in on the Irish border. But still.

What many in this thread have said. Her red lines speech is one of the single worst decisions any politician has made over the last decade. It's buried her.
 
Why doesn't the European Union just join the United Kingdom and then we can make the rules and have visaless travel.

I didn't follow the conference closely, I thought it went through? And to be fair, don't think it was up to Corbyn. Would have been the responsibility of the NEC.

They've made it easy but it isn't open selections. And I think the reasons why open selections lost this time was down to the unions who were worried about the threat of the membership.

Yeah it would be accepted by the EU and Brexiteers but there is no chance of it getting through parliament as it would be catastrophic for industry and services.
 
May's strategy is to give the EU something that suggests that she will agree and then go back to the UK and deny everything. She did the same last December.

The only way that will end is that she annoys everybody. The end of the road is close and nowhere to go.

What are the odds offered by the bookies on "no deal"? Like printing money.

If the EU are ready for that (and i suspect they may be fed up enough to do so) then the logical step is to keep the special summit in November but dont invite the UK - make it a summit about how to deal with hard brexit.
By the way what happens in Gibraltar with a hard brexit - not seen enough info on that but i suspect it will not be straightforward

Another that is not being discussed. A return of border checks to Gibraltar would kill the economy. People forget they voted to remain with something like 96%.

Even if by some miracle she did manage an agreement with the EU, it will be rejected as soon as it gets voted on because it means the UK is still in the CU/SM.

I just saw some odds on a bookies site, Even money for no deal. Also saw 8/15 for the UK leaving the EU between Jan and March. When else are they going to leave.

Anyone ever gone into the comments on a Facebook post about Brexit and then followed the first daft Brexiteer post they find down the rabbit hole? You can always guarantee 3 things will be on there...

  1. Misleading hate posts about immigration
  2. Love for the armed forces, poppies and anything related to how Great Britain was X amount of years ago (probably more than one there)
  3. Posts and petitions about cruelty to animals

The armed forces is a funny one, especially considering a large number of them are complete tools that these people love to declare as ”heroes”.

I’ll state it clearly, simply signing up to be in the army doesn’t make you a fecking hero you imbeciles.
