Sneaky bastards.

When one of the few sensible objections to the EU from the leave side was their fear that we would not be consulted over the Trans Pacific Trade Agreement and would just roll over to take any shite the US threw at us why does it come as no surprise that the age old government trick of hiding public consultations from all but the most eagle eyed and sneaking legislation in by the back door was how we would eventually capitulate.

The EU's bureaucratic nature might make it hard to trust but surely we already knew that there can be no trust in our own politicians.

The problem is even if leaving might in theory solve that Brussels bureaucracy, at the same time it will increase a lot the bureaucracy regarding all processes, not just to leave but I suspect for Trade, Companies and on and on.

Not to mention some bureaucracies we in Europe have from Brussels really aren't bad for our health, like having more regulations on the types of food standards.

I don't know if a future FTA with Trump and the Republicans and their so called lack of regulation will be good for Food and Environmental Standards.

Anyway that is a problem your polititians will have to explain to your citizens. If they want to understand it.

I'm waiting for the free £350m coin.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/oct/29/uk-eu-flights-disrupted-brexit-chris-grayling

"Flights could be disrupted after Brexit, the transport secretary has admitted, but he said the European commission would be to blame for not starting talks on a deal to keep planes in the air."

Absolutely nothing to do with the UK leaving the EU then.

Chris Grayling told an aviation conference that disruption was “unlikely” but that talks to secure an aviation agreement had not yet started with only five months to the date of Britain’s departure. He added: “That process is not in our hands.”

Taking back control.

I'd love to just split the rules down the middle. Some people have to abide by some and some by others. Some have to eat shite and pay more (with their shitty coin). Some don't. I wonder how long they'd want to stay on that side?

The wording in the article :
"to commemorate the UK's victory in leaving the EU"

Against whom was the UK's victory? common sense?

They kicked common sense's arse good and proper.

Fu ck you common sense. We don't like your sort round here.

Can't we just have a new referendum to join the EU on Mar 30, 2019?

Hong Kong definitely did.
Yes. Although, it is normal for the conquerors to think that the subjugated are benefiting from the subjugation.
That wasn't the point of my post anyway.
Some brexiteers long for past glory so they have fantasies of a future that can never exist.

I think the big hurdles any rejoin campaign will face (whenever it happens which I think it will at some point) is that I can't see the EU bending the rules and that would imply no rebate and joining the euro...

Whilst there may (or may not) currently be a majority for remain (on current terms) I doubt there would be a majority for be in the EU but use the euro and loose the rebates

I’m hoping the EU agrees with rejoining on the same terms. That solves the issue of people complaining about voting again and again.

This is a brand new referendum, join the EU on Mar 30, at 0000.

I doubt they would agree to that... The logic would be to cancel the article 50 process.
But again I think it's pretty unrealistic it would probably take a few weeks to get the legislation and any referendum wording through parliamen... Then there is what an 8 or 12 week campaign period before any vote
As there isn't a parliamentary process now and to be honest I think no real sign of one starting then we are pretty much out of time once we miss the December deadline for securing a deal

Can anyone clarify if English folk who get an Irish passport can still retain UK citizenship once outside of the EU (I know NI folk can, obviously)? I assume yes, in which case they're probably largely getting an Irish passport so they can still freely travel around Europe should the proverbial shit hit the proverbial fan?

Won't be on the same terms, if we're rejoing it's because we fecked up. We'd have to change to the Euro and join the Schengen area, it would also take years and most likely there would also be a hesitance to let us back in.
