MEN: Raiola says Pogba/Mou relationship repaired

He should know by now that without him, we are dogshite in midfield. I remember reading about our very own captain marvel,Bryan Robson, that in the 80's, if he was out injured or not in form, the whole United team suffered. Just look at the manchester derby at home last season(Pogba was banned) when they absolutely humiliated us even though the final score was only 2-1. It was painful to watch when they just sliced through the midfield time and time again. He is the centerpiece of our attack.
I can see where you're coming from with the comparison but honestly Robbo was a whole different class. The man carried the whole team let alone the midfield, while the jury is still out whether Pogba can even play in a midfield 2.

Raiola is all about gaining more pounds, in whatever form. He's also got a lot to make up for given the shite that came out before last derby, though Pep couldn't help being his true self that time either.

I don't believe Pogba's personal relationship with Mourinho was ever that relevant. Pogba and Mourinho are both professionals and Pogba was never dropped when available (that I can remember). Riaola is doing his job here which is to make sagas out of his players' careers. It's the superstar culture of the modern world on steroids because of absolute 24/7 access to all types of fan culture through so many mediums.

It keeps the news ticking over.

We'll hear the same shit next summer for sure, this is just a bit of PR for the interim

Pobga is a talented player but come on now. Robbo was a fecking force of nature and a leader Pogba could only dream of being...
Absolutely. Robson would dominate any part if the pitch he needed to play in in any given match.

He would bolster the defence, dominate the middle or rampage into attack as needed.

Pogs should watch some video of Robson rather than practising another silly trick.

Some of you need to get over it already. Pogba is his own man who plays much different than those guys. What Pogba can do, they can't do. And what they do, Pogba also can't do. Pogba is fine as he is.

It baffles me why the clubs don't take action to reduce the power that so called agents have.

They bleed hundreds of millions out of football simply by turning the heads of certain players to screw their employers.

I can see little real value that they add to the game.

I listened to Lewis Hamilton recently after HE negotiated his new contract with Mercedes.
When asked who negotiated his contact he said ME. His view was that he was the best person to negotiate with the team because he knew more about Mercedes than anyone else and he knows more about himself than anyone else so why should he use an agent to do what he was best placed to do.

How wonderfully refreshing an attitude is that.

Football clubs know who they deal with when they sign the players. You don't like the agent, you move to next on the list. Same as SAF did with Raiola.

Agents act on behalf of their clients and are looking for value for their clients.

Who knew two grown up men in (what one could argue to be) the most privileged job in the world managed to talk to each other and actually be friendly towards each other? Amazing.

I am aware of all that.
My point is about the power some of the agents wield over the football clubs.

A player signs a contract (with his agent) then the agent tells the player that another club is interested in him and that player then looses his motivation for his club or demands a pay rise to see out his contract.

What I am saying is that the agents who behave in such a way should be barred from working by the national FA.

IMHO, they are simply parasites who add no value to football as a whole and take massive payouts for disrupting the relationship between a player and his club.

Look at the legislation against Trades Unions for example. Why should football agents not be similarly controlled.

Now we just need him to perform consistently on the pitch!!He was all over the place in Turin...

Players employ the agents, the agents only get paid when the player gets paid.

Pogba is being forced into nothing, his agent is his mouthpiece. If the agent is saying or doing something the player doesn't like, he gets sacked. Pogba stays with this guy because he gets him what he wants.

Don't shoot the messenger!

Again, clubs know who they will have to deal with down the line when they buy the player. If it's good for the club and good for the player (the parties involved in the contract), why would the FA be against it?

As you will see my concern is after the contract has been signed where the agent manoeuvres the player to ask for a transfer or even worse negotiates with another club while the player is only part way through his current contract.

Translation: Pogba is playing so poorly no money club wants to sign him right now

aka whatever happens, Pogba is considered more important to the club than Jose.
He shouldn't be.
His performances haven't been good enough for him to be considered more important than the manager.
Honestly if we sold Pogba it'd be a shame because we badly need quality and he's one of our best players for sure but that speaks more about the rest of the squad than it does about him because Paul Pogba hasn't been one of the best players in the Premier League.

Our recent performances disagree with you.
We were better without Pogba in last couple of games.

I would like to point out that our setup in general was different, Pogba or no Pogba that shouldn´t be overlooked.
Pogba should be nowhere near playing in a two man midfield and he and Matic were never going to work.

You imply that we would have performed just as well in that set up, had Pogba played, I disagree.
I think he would've reduced the intensity we showed and would have had a negative impact.

Where was that intensity against Manchester City?

Some people are so brain dead. Their hate for Pogba shines through as soon as they get a chance.

I genuinely think they’d rather us play badly than have him in the team.

I know. The worst thing is there isn’t actually a valid reason why they hate him. Which is why there excuses are so transparent.

Oh the irony.
We’ve had way More good results with him than without him.

1 piss easy match against a Fulham that hasn’t had a clean sheet means nothing.

This isn't an either, or debate. Pogba hasn't played well for a while now, he deserves dropping. Just because you're the best player in theory doesn't give you the right to play every game. Better players than him have been dropped before and if you agree with it, it doesn't make you Graeme Souness.

I don't think it does. Oh the other hand I don't think anyone hates him and if they do its not much different to people being sad when we win cause they hate the manager so much.
I don't hate him at all, just have issues with his attitude sometimes.

Against FULHAM. Let that sink in.

Fulham (bottom of the league) is exactly the kind of game where Pogba goes missing (along with many of our other players) and we lose.
We can beat the top 6, but the relegation fodder were/are teams we usually lose to.
I think last season, after beating MCFC, we lost the next game to the all conquering West Ham United!

So yeah....beating Fulham by scoring 4 goals, for the first time in a long time, is a big deal. And coincidentally, it happened with Pogba was not playing.
