I regard Ole as a clutch in this gear-shift (manager change) from Mourinho to Pochetino (or Zidane). Having Mourinho grinding our players for 6 more months would be devastating for our club. There's no way someone could come in and make us compete against Liverpool and City with only the summer and preseason to build them back up after Mourinho's tare down. Now Solskjaer hopefully will make our team enjoy football again, so the next manager can come in an take over a squad that actually believe they're good enough to win against Southampton and Brighton, playing football. I don't care about Mourinho - the squad is probably better now than when he arrived, but on the pitch, our performance is just as dreadful as it was 3 years ago.

I am! I am! No really, I am. Have a good friend back from London for Christmas and we’ve rustled up a posse of all our United supporting friends to hit the boozer on Saturday to watch the match. There was zero chance of this happening if Ole hadn’t taken over. For sure and only hindsight will tell us but I genuinely think that most fans will get behind a side with Ole at the helm which has the "ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!" mentality.
Ole on a personal level just has so much more about him than Giggsy. He's dynamic, articulate, confident, cheerful and has a real charisma. I think he will have a much better chance than Giggs had of creating that good feels atmosphere we so desperately want, regardless of results.

How do you go about picking a side for this match when you’ve only been here 24 hours or so?
It’s Michael and Kieran that’s been here for the whole season, they’ve had their say and input but there are so many game over the next 10 or 15 days, it’s about picking a team that is going to get results but every player needs to know they’re going to get their chance. Kieran and Michael have been great, it’s great being back home and seeing the development, Michael, as good a coach and man manager as he is.
How do you rate your chance of making up the gap of the top four?
I think first thing is first game, think about getting my principles into the boys, get the players to understand how I want them to play and let’s take the results later on see how many points we can gather but this club has made many many points before but I’m not going to set that target now.

I understand that and I would be fine with it if it was a player we can't miss out on, but there's a danger the player won't fit in the plans for the next manager. Say we buy a defender who isn't great on the ball and the next manager then wants defenders who are good on the ball. See that's what issue is with it.
But if it's someone as talented as de Ligt then I'm all for it.
I really think people underestimate this about management. It's not just about tactics, but getting everyone going in the right way.

Big job ahead of him, but I believe in him and am eager to watch, first time I have felt that in what seems like ages now.

11 points behind now with 60 left to play for. Say we win 16 and draw 2 of the next 20 losing only 2. We'd need both Chelsea and Arsenal to only win 14 and draw 2 whilst losing 6.

And people wonder why bookies make a killing off a lot of people.
It's a heavy task that looks almost impossible but I'm confident on Chelsea and Arsenal losing more games in the 2nd half of the season. And I'm not sure Tottenham will maintain their actual form and concentration till end of season without feeling the pressure of tiredness. Chelsea went on an unbeaten run under a caretaker, everything is still possible.
Good to hear the manager making it all about "us" and not worry about what the other teams are doing. This guy is bringing the good mood back at the club, well done Ed.

Top 4 is incredibly difficult...if not impossible.
I think Jose described it as a miracle.
The issue is that the top 4 in general, are winning virtually all their matches. This means that even if you draw a game, you end up losing ground to the top 4.
We need to win every match AND beat the top 4, to stand a chance of getting top 4.
