Give credit where it's due. If anyone thinks that these three games have been down to "playing for the manager" alone, then it's the absolute height of ignorance and naivety.

A higher overall field position for ten outfield players, again, isn't happening for the above reason.
Nor is the increased pressing, amount of key-pass attempts, shots from range, etc.
Ole isn't morale-ing performances out of these players as a unit. There's some very deliberate and obvious tactical instructions involved in the last three games; non of which, are down to an increase in overall happiness alone.
Ole knows what he's doing. Everything from the high line, to the high press, to the high full-backs, to the interchanging 3, to the elevated Pogba field position between lines. All these things can be verified by his learning and work involved at Molde. All of these tactical similarities can be traced to his Molde team. There's a definitive attacking approach.

I do wonder if the points you’ve made has been lost on a lot of people speaking nonsense. «It’s only...» also doesn’t work, because it was only WH, Wolves, Brighton, Derby and CP under José, and we sure as heck didn’t produce anything close to these last three.
Not sure about these two. Hughes has certainly had some very good spells in management, but his recent career has been pretty poor. Also he’s turned very bitter against United since he left.
I love Steve Bruce, but the football his sides play is agricultural to say the least. Villa fans couldn’t wait to see the back of him.
Great post. While Ole has been saying in pressers that he’s “not changed much” and that the system is similar to before, it’s clearly not. The interchanging of positions across players is something we didn’t see even once under Jose. You genuinely can’t say that Martial is left or Jesse right. Indeed, at times it’s hard to even know if Pogba is left of a 4-3-3 or the #10 in a 4-2-3-1. They’re fluid and each pops up in places where they wreak maximum havoc regardless of the “starting position”.
Matic (the supposed Jose sergeant) and Herrera are dovetailing well too. It’s amazing to see one or the other move forward in turns while the other shields or makes a late drive. Nobody should be saying that Matic’s uptick is on account of Jose being gone!
Long may it last. I’m not saying (yet) that Ole’s the second coming or anything but I’m very impressed and certain that come what may, post June he’ll be at a far bigger club than Molde - and I can’t help but admit that I really hope it’s us.

He loves the club and I think isn't stupid enough to dig in right now. They've all been silent since Ole took over.

What we are seeing from Solskjaer, cements for me the reason why Ryan Giggs should never be our Manager.

That’s Klopp surely. Won all his games in December. Nuno would be above Ole too for me as Wolves beat Chelsea and Spurs. Puel ruined it by losing to Cardiff.

I wouldn't say I would be in favour of it, but I wouldn't be adverse to it as long as we also bring in a good DoF. That role is important no matter who we bring in, but I feel it would be even more important with Ole who hasn't had any experience whatsoever in terms of scouting and signing players at the top level. Indeed the closest he came was at Cardiff where from what I've read his signings were poor.
Apparently he’s doing the Newcastle game, so he should have a great opportunity then to gain attention for himself speaking about the club.
Thanks. Good post. Sure the new manager effect is there, but Solskjaer quite clearly changed the way we approach the games and how we are set up. He has also identified the weaknesses of the team and acknowledged the areas we need to work on. He quite clearly knows what he is doing

Really impressed with how Ole conducts himself in the press conferences. Very relaxed, smiling and says the right thing. Doesnt rise to any baited questions but you can see he has an edge in reserve if they get too cheeky. So far very impressed all round with him.
He has in some respects had an easy start to his caretakership with a run of 3 games against teams we should beat easily but we won all convincingly.
Be intested to see how we set up and compete gainst a top team. Time will tell. So far so good.

You'd still prefer to take another punt on a new manager if Ole manages to get us top 4, after he's brought back the Utd traditions we were used to under Fergie, those that the players seem to be relishing? Are you not worried that it would be a too big of a gamble to quickly dismantle our first management team in 5 years that has looked remotely capable of producing the football we want to see?
FFS, I don't want him to leave after 6 months. Fecking hope he hits it out of the park and gets the permanent job.
There's so many intangibles that it's hard to give a definitive answer right now. At the moment all we know is that he's got us playing well against three fairly poor teams, the players are enjoying themselves right now while things are going well, and his media conferences are great when things are going well.
Now if we get top four obviously things continue to go well, but over that period of time we may have seen some more serious issues. There will obviously be harder tests, players may start to struggle with aspects of his management, or there may be signs that he's starting to struggle with the pressure.
It's just too early for me to say I'd want him to get the job. As we get closer to the end of the season I may change my mind in that, but for now I'd still prefer a more established manager. In an absolutely perfect world I'd like to continue with Ole though.
