Can we keep £90m Lukaku on the bench?

Haven’t read the thread & hate to be pedantic, but was Lukaku not signed for £75m? I suppose with add ons it might be around £90m - not that I’m aware of what those add ons are.
When he's scoring goals and winning matches he's only 75m. When he's a flop he's 90m. That's how this works.

Fcukinell the state of this thread. In a short while it'll be all roses in here and the next player will be getting thoroughly and overly rinsed.

No support from these supporters...
Out of form? Failed to deliver a few games in row? Fcuk you, get rid, sack fergie, sell giggs!!1

:lol::lol:

Father ted.

I agree with your point. Still a decent striker. But i doubt he will be too happy playing second fiddle to Rashers.

His touch is not his strength. Would I be damning Messi with faint praise if I said he’s a decent header of the ball?

At any rate, I’d say it’s a more valid contribution than the heaps of people saying he’d struggle for minutes at yer local pub team. I fecking hate that sort of ignorant bullshit.
They are making a point by using a gross exaggeration.
He has proved that he is a goal scorer at PL level, and a good player, however the limitations in his touch and movement don't suit our play.
Delighted we have him as an option from the bench but I guess he will want to move on next year.

He's not even nearly as bad as some of you are making him to be.
Overall? I agree. I'm not sure if he's good enough to be the starting striker at a club who wants to be at the top, but he's quite a good player who hasn't suited the football we've tried to play since he joined us.

But he has been every bit as bad as people are saying this season. I would honestly be surprised if he hasn't been the worst regular starter in the entire premier league.

Why do we always end up paying over the odds for strikers who turn out to be dog shit and then we offload them for peanuts.

When will the club learn from its past mistakes, seems like they are on-going.
Rom needs off loading asap he's shocking value for money.

Always said Lukaku is a great wide option.

Not sure he would be good if he started wide right but when he pulls into that channel he's lethal. It gives him the chance to hit full speed which along with his size must be terrifying for the LB. Plus his crossing is quality.

What strikers are you referring to? Falcao was a loan and he's the only one in recent memory who was "dog shit"

Poor Lukaku holding his arms wide for a celebration after 2nd assist only for Jesse to run past him like he is a rock.

I think that was more of a "feck the haters" moment than a "celebrate with me" one.

Looks dangerous from the right wing, with a nice cross on him

I think Rashford and Martial are first choices up front just now, but having the likes of Lukaku and Sanchez to come in gives OGS some serious flexibility in the forward areas.
It is amazing when you consider that he was one of Mourinho's favourites but now looks twice the player - at least - under Solskjaer and like everyone else looks so much happier and playing with a smile on his face. His two assists tonight so far were sublime, looks like there is a player in there after all. Hopefully the prospect of trying to sell him and get back anywhere near the huge outlay on him won't now materialise.

And who should sub in for Lukaku and Sanchez with 15' to go?

The lad did well tonight. He might not have scored but his contributions helped win us the game.

Fair fecks to him - I'm on record not being his biggest fan, but he did well out there in there within the remit he was given, and both his assists were wonderful and intentional.
