I think Ole has done amazingly well & is a realistic contender for the job.
However today honestly wasn’t good enough & we were fortunate to get a win. We should be striving for much better performance against Leicester- what was most worrying to me was we started really well for 10 mins but after that the players & the management team didn’t know how to get us back on top of the match.
A vital win today though so let’s hope we work out what went wrong today & perform better in the massive games coming up which will really see how close Ole is to the job.
I wish the board had backed Ole with a couple of signings in January. Think our lack of depth could end up costing us this season.

For me it's how we steer through the smaller clubs as i want to see that these last two games aren't a trend but outliers. The big games will decide a lot but if we keep playing poorly against minnows it matters little.

People will still find a reason to talk him down regardless of what he does because they have an agenda of who they prefer as the new manager. No point in arguing with them.

I think backing him January would have given the wrong impression, as in we'd made our mind up already on who the new manager would be. Also, who's available? I'm pretty sure we use January to sound out summer recruitments and secure any youth players who are available.

We have depth. Trouble is that the depth ain't very good, especially on the RW and in midfield.
- Mata or Lingard as RWs. Not really much of a choice. Maybe Ole should try Sanchez on the right just to see if something sticks.
- Our midfield of Pogba-Matic-Herrera cannot be rested as Pereira is inadequate and Fred also appears to be so based on how sparingly Ole has used him. This is a real problem. One injury to either of those 3 and we will be up against it. The decision to let Fellaini leave midseason seems questionable.
But as you said, we have what it takes to drag ourselves over the line. The problem is so do Chelsea if Higuain really gets going in this league.
What I find really strange is that the same people who week in and week out slaughtered players like Young, Jones, Bailly, Fred, Smalling, Matic, Sanchez, Lukaku and Mata as not good enough - are the same people who expect us to suddenly be as good as Liverpool, City and Tottenham - when these are the players that are at our disposal

It not only about what these managers have won. If that mattered Mourinho would be a contender to replace Ole again

I m giving him a lot of time that is why I haven’t decided yet on whether he should be United next manager or not.We wasn't pushed over by Spurs for starters. secondly all the matches are tests and playing small teams are no less of a challenge than big teams. Infact we have beaten teams like Juventus already and people were not convinced with our season so why would PSG win be the deciding factor? It makes no sense.

First you said, a win over PSG shouldn't be seen as a end-all since they are weak and we must compare ourselves to Europe's elite. Then you say it doesn't matter what they win but how they conduct themselves (why is this a key req. again?) and how the players responds - which they have done. I don't get it.

Might be right and the romantic part of me thinks it's such a great story and like having a player from our academy playing upfront, it's what separates us from those who just through money at it. That's said, the less optimistic of me thinks this is such a 'false' set of circumstances. Reminds me of going on holiday with an ex as friends. Things look so much better with the sun, no pressure and without the pressure that comes with the reality and expectation of being in a relationship. Return back to England and you remember why it finished.
If Ole was that good, why has he never been in the picture. It's not like he's pulled up trees somewhere elsewhere? I know I'll need a fire suit for even questioning it at mo but it's just my opinion.

This argument has happened before. My response will be similar to what I stated before.
Never said they were weak. Just that their best player is not playing and it should not be the key deciding factor towards Ole appointment. It is a key requirement because using Mourinho as an example — he has won a lot, but his man management ability was overlooked and apparently still is, which is one reason towards our players dissatisfaction during his tenure here.
Because all of this is based on a set of circumstances which no one could have predicted. Ole has been nothing less than outstanding but this is very different when there is nothing to lose than everything to lose at the start of the season. It's interesting how the closer the top 4 becomes a reality, how he responds to this. It's part of the audition he and others never thought would have been possible. Like said elsewhere, Feb will indicate whether he can do it as the pressure has ramped up a good few notches.

I think the Fulham away is going to be very important in terms of Ole rotating and getting the 3 points (and maybe getting the best from his Squad players). Grinding out, doesn't matter. That is going to be his last chance to do that. After that every match is going to be a strong motivation for everybody involved and a positive run of results could prove as a boost for the players and the manager for the rest of the season. As far as for Poch goes he is a trophyless manager no more (or less) qualfied for this job than Moyes.
He won the league twice in Norway with a club that has never won it before he came there and its not likes hes been a manager for a very long time. Poch has done very well at Tottenham, and has done some excellent bargain transfers, but hes also been very fortunate in having the best striker in the league and one of the best young midfielders come through the academy in that period. Poch has assembled a very good squad on a small budget, no doubt about that, but he has never won anything either. In 2015/16 all the other top clubs were busy shitting themselves and the league was there for the taking...and then Leichester won it.
Poch is doing very well at Tottenham, Ole is (right now) doing very well here. If we continue in similar fashion, why would we replace Ole? Any appointment has an element of risk to it and now we have the luxury of giving a potential manager a trial run before we make a permanent appointment. The last thing i want to say is that Ole fecking loves this club like his own children and will never leave us for another club unless for personal matters. If we hire Poch and Real Madrid or Barcelona come knocking? Im pretty sure he would leave

And he can't make the same mistakes with these rotations as Burnley. Pereira is not adequate cover for Herrera. Neither is Mata for Lingard.
Young, Herrera, Lingard, Pogba and Rashford are all getting run into the ground and we need all of them to have any chance of making it through in a good position in at least 2 competitions.
Give him a couple of quality fullbacks and a good partner for Lindelöf and we have a side capable of contending on all fronts.
