Varchester City 18/19 discussion

They're a joke of a club. It must really annoy them that even when they're winning leagues no one gives a feck.
Nope, not in the slightest.
Here in Manchester plenty of Reds get salty when the matter of City’s recent success comes up.
This is mollified a bit at the moment with the feel good factor of Ole and the fact that Liverpool are the ones who would suffer most should City retain the PL.

Win this year and two of your titles would have been at Liverpool's success.
There's nothing salty about it at all!
City really bring out a sense of nothingness these days. There's just nothing there.
Utd share the same view of City as every other foot all fan out there.

I would describe my fellow Salfordians (Reds) who wanted to punch out the lights of me and my City supporting Salfordian mates in May 2014 as salty.
Our crime was wearing Blue and White scarves on the day we deprived Liverpool of the PL.
On Aguerooooo day in 2012 we had a dickhead get off a charter coach headed to Manchester Airport specifically to throw a beer bottle at us as we were walking through Manchester City Centre.
May not be a big deal in whichever part of the world you are but here in Manchester things are very different.

You can localise it all you want but the fact is that the vast, vast majority of Utd fans don't seem to give a feck about City's success.
You will never cheer us on in a title race yet here we are, Utd fans wearing City shirts for the second time in 4/5 years.
I'd wager we would cheer you on in a battle with Leeds as well!
State runners clubs bring apathy out of fans as seen by the reaction to your carry on with UEFA and it'll only get worse as time goes on.
All of England seem to be cheering you on this season for a reason.
Your success just doesn't resonate with non City fans. There's not even glee anymore when you drop points.
That's just how it is. I bet you wouldn't get attacked in 2019..

We can live with the apathy that you perceive is a thing that bothers us.
Your continued presence on this thread proves that you personally GAF.

City starting to rival Liverpool for most cringeworthy fans in the world award. Everything they do smacks of fans who have recently got into football and are not quite sure how it all works. Like this for example...I think the comment at the end says it all really.

That's the worst thing anyone has ever done. Ever.

I felt my soul leaving my body at the midway point of the video and had to switch it off before the procedure could be completed.

It seems to be a recurrent theme. United fans stating their apathy toward City, and then restating their apathy, and then reminding everyone of their apathy. Me thinks the lady doth..

I thought Aguero was going to be rested tonight to keep him fresh for Chelsea, oh well, I guess we really need the 3 points tonight. We will see if we are up for it, I hope so

Vincent Kompany reportedly donating his his earnings in their entirety this season to help the homeless in Manchester.

Stand up for the champions was much worse and it was official!

It's always the ones with hundreds of posts in the City threads too.

Forgot about that one!

What is it what your lot and cringe videos?

I dunno, but in fairness that group were yanks, I'm just imaging them as Nycfc supporters being forced to support us by the power that be so they are doing it in the worst way possible.
Was it up to me, I'd purge our social media pr guy or whoever thinks "if your happy and you know it" is what all the cool kids listen to.

They are far from impressive at the moment. They are even finding it difficult to dominate possession.
They just don't have the aura they had last season.
Juat hope Liverpool still manage to be worse than them.

Yeah, they had it easy last season and were cruising. This year they're findingd it all really difficult. Liverpool started to cough at the right time though, hope it will continue.

We made it easy.

thats is a big 3 points, I really hope you guys beat pool in OT but lets see how they react now that we went top of the table. If we beat Chelsea I will start believing again!

I really wish we (Chelsea) were playing Pool next, instead of City. We're desperate for points, but if we get anything at Etihad, that means we'll help Liverpool get the title.

Still, it's very likely City'll win this Sunday, anyway.

He always comes in as a class act in interviews and stuff like this. Wish we signed him when he was in Hamburg, a monstrous player in his peak as well.

Everton, Utd and Chelsea fans all want City to win the league. Liverpool still need to face those 3 teams. They will definitely be dropping points in those games.

I think they looked very nervous whole game vs Everton. It's a proper title race nervousness, same with Liverpool too. Their passing was average.

I think it is apathy given the current circumstances. Of course we don't want our crosstown rivals to go about winning silverware while we wallow in the murky waters of top four battles. However, I don't think City fans can deny that it's damning that the moment Liverpool enter the equation, United fans don't really care who wins the title as long as it's not Liverpool.

If the Premier League were a Star Wars analogy and United were Luke Skywalker, Man City are Jabba the Hut while Liverpool are Emperor Palpatine. The sad reality for City is that if they made this analogy on RAWK, they'd reverse our roles, but you'd still be Jabba.

Right, but who is it "damning"? I think the point El Magico was making was that United fans on this thread seem keen for City fans to be somehow annoyed by your apathy. Your apathy is your apathy, that's your prerogative, but it doesn't mean I need to feel damned by your feelings of apathy!

So who's Darth Vader, Leeds?

Or Salford City when they become rivals in the distant future and no one alive remembers that they were once part of United and therefore sort of, their father.

Fair enough, you're right. I don't see any reason why Man City fans would be bothered by the fact that United fans don't care if they win the league or not. So what if your only rivals don't bother if and when you lift the trophy? So what if they come beaming at you and pat you on the back the next day for helping them keep Liverpool at bay? So what if the story the next day is about Old Trafford and Anfield again?

Football is a noble sport beyond petty one-uppances, and the joy of winning can only be celebrated in solemn solitude.

I must admit I did not think this through, but the Glazers would fit in pretty nicely.

Exactly why they shouldn't be mentioned with the PL great teams. City only dominated last year because they had no pressure in the league all year. They're still leading the way but look like half the team of last year, mentally.

Do City fans get sick of having Noel Gallagher chirp at least twice a season as seemingly the sole representative of Man City in the punditry world? Like holy shit...
