Champions League Round of 16 (12th Feb - 13th Mar)

For those of us who didn't watch the Barca game

It’s a super hot take, but beyond his first season, I don’t think he’s been much cop for Barcelona at all.

Great stats in La Liga, but I can’t help but feel he’s been a bit of big issue in Barcelona’s lack of CL success in the last three years. Not getting past the quarters with his last CL away goal coming in September 2015...

Is Emre Can injured or does he simply not play for Juventus?

As long as they keep taking 'pool's best players I don't care if they work out or not!

I love him. I think this characterization of Simeone as an anti-football manager is unfair. He is also an excellent tactician. Easily a top 5 manager in Europe. Some years I had him as #1.

I think I'll actually watch the Atletico-Juve match.
The problem for me is that he's failed whenever he's tried to adapt their style in the last few seasons and always ends up defaulting to Koke and Saul on the flanks and two DMs.

It's astonishing the number of different central and wide attackers that have been in and out of that club under Simeone without making an impact.

Turan and Carrasco come to mind as prominent failures, but they didn't cover themselves in glory after leaving Atletico. I agree with your wider point though

Should I watch Juve or City?

Atletico vs Juve 100%. It'll be the better game, and you won't have to complain for 105 minutes about how far ahead City are than the rest of us :D

Wanda Metropolitano is a glorious stadium.

Looking forward to Atleti/Juve

He's always been really sloppy though. I went and saw Barcelona in 2016 (it was during his amazing season where he scored 50 goals), it was funny how sloppy he looked compared to Neymar, Messi and Iniesta in the same team.

Doesn't take much away from him though because it worked for him.

Mandzukic looks like Ronaldo's ugly brother.

Those two captains though

Why are they both wearing blue shirts? Sure, they are distinctive, but it annoys me.

Surrounding the ref in the first minute. Let the shithousery commence

Fecking love this, shithousery in a game with two shithousery teams/managers.

Don't want to know how many times this will happen to day with VAR and Atletico.

I know he's been alright for them, but who on earth would've predicted Szcesny would end up as number one for Juve after his time at Arsenal.

Well they're not playing against Real/Barca, so maybe this time they'll get a decision :D

Time for Ronaldo to kick it into the wall.

Costa suspended already
