You're falling into the trap of black and white analysis, which has been perpetuated by the immediacy culture we have because of social media.

You won't lose the title if you lose today and to say a victory means you will win it is massively disrespectful to City's outstanding team.

Nah, nothing to do with social media, it's just a feeling I have. Mind you, there is something that plays on my mind & brings about negative thoughts. 10 years ago we did the double over United & only finished 2nd to a Manchester club (United). 5 years ago we did the double again over United but only finished 2nd to the other Manchester club (City). If we do win today I'll be hoping it's 3rd time lucky rather than history repeating itself.

    Defending the left side
    Fred
    Shaw Lindelof
    Defending the right side
    Herrera
    Smalling Dalot

Surprised that everyone seems so sure we would win. There's a reason why the bookmakers has Liverpool as favourites by far. Think this has the PSG game written all over it. We're gonna lose 1-3.
    Imagine supporting your team huh?

A feeling is fair enough, but you still have 11 matches to play after this and, at most, you will be 3 points ahead.

Logically speaking, nothing gets decided today for either team.

I just think it unnecessarily piles the pressure on to talk in such certain times about this game.

I hate and adore this fixture. Been bloody nervous since last night.

If Ole pulls off a victory here, it would be an immense result.

When is this kicking off? Sky have been a bit vague in their buildup.

United’s players have just got off the team bus and there was no sign of either Nemanja Matic or Anthony Martial.

These are the 20 players who did arrive:

    • De Gea, Romero, Grant; Young, Dalot, Shaw, Bailly, Rojo, Smalling, Lindelof; McTominay, Pogba, Herrera, Pereira, Mata, Fred, Lingard; Sanchez, Lukaku, Rashford

I guess you’re not that familiar how odds work. Also, United were favourites in the first game against PSG.

It helps if you tell yourself that these patterns are basically in your head. They are there because you are looking for them and they are ultimately meaningless.

Liverpool win at Old Trafford every five years (2004, 2009, 2014) but that's not why I'm worried, it's rather because of the uncertainty around Matic and Martial.

No Matic and Martial, the luck they have is incredible !

So Poba and Herrera in a two with Rashford / Lingard / Lukaku as split strikers? Hard working Sanchez as a deeper 10 to help out midfield? Maybe Linagrd as a third midfielder and the other three across the line?

    Martial is at Old Trafford

Anthony Martial arrived in casual clothes before the rest of the squad.

He won’t be playing this afternoon.

My point is that absentees are a normal thing. We have enough quality to get the job done.
Midfield balance will be off and we'll miss Martial's pace in attack. Doubling up on Pogba will be probably very effective.

It is what it is, but it's not looking good.

it won't be our strongest team but we can still construct a good enough team from what we have to win the game. Pogba, Herrera are the best midfielders and Lingard, Rashford is 2 thirds of our attacking trident. I'm very confident .

Well let's see what the coaching team come up with. Hopefully it won't be as defeatist as many on here.

Nemanja Matic not in the United team today. Injured in training yesterday. Fears after initial assessment he could be out for up to a month but will have more scans next week. Would be a big blow.

Nerves. Excitement. Palpitations. A welcome return since the Special Twit departed.

They are lucky that our squad isn't good enough to cope with a couple players out injured?
Imagine losing salah or mane, their replacement is NOT adequate or up to their level...so yes they are Lucky that they injured themselves, especially matic, 1 day before the match.
