So bloody relieved! Like the old days that one. Anxiety and thrills at the end.

Lukaku is bloody frustrating but I love his ass today more than Mr Jazz. He took those goals so well. Grateful to him for the three points.

Lovely goal by Perreira, redeemed himself after that brainfart against Burnley.

Dalot was a good sub.

Sanchez needs to be transferred anywhere.

These kinds of teams are always difficult more than you would expect. Very happy we came through that. It's especially difficult with all the injuries.

Anyway, on we go.

Is there something we should know about?

Poor performance, Southampton were excellent throughout and probably deserved a draw. We kept working at it though, scored three excellent (mostly individual) goals.. We struggled to keep a tempo, but that's certainly down to the players we (don't) have available right now.

Lindelof again looking like the real thing, Shaw being solid but unremarkable, McTominay generally looking composed and Lukaku working hard and scoring two crackers. The rest of them? Rashford was kept quiet, Pogba was largely anonymous Pereira apart from the goal I thought didn't affect the game enough, Sanchez was shite, Smalling was Smalling, and Young was appalling. And that rhymes. Dalot again showed he's an effective player - I'd like to see more of him.

But hey, happy days, we did well again with a depleted squad. Having Matic, Herrera, Mata and Martial back will help so much..

I think he's showing leadership qualities (in particular with some of his handling of Fred in the past two games )

Any chance this will be 1st on MOTD, or will they show what sounds like a attack v defence training session at Dean Court instead?

Is your name Andy Walker? Bloody hell. They were nowhere near scoring except for the two strikes and some hoofballs after 2-2. We could have been 2-0 up within minutes of the start and then they would have been toast, as they have been against most teams in the league.

I still think we should get rid of Lukaku because he's not good enough but I'm made up for him.

How good does it feel? fecking amazing is how it feels. That was a SAF win, when the chips were down and we hadn't played that well, we still found a late winner. Glorious.

Scared customers in the shop celebrating.

I doubt that Southampton play like that every week or they wouldn't be in 17th place.
This is what I'm wondering. Why on earth are they all the way down the table when they clearly have the ability to do much much better. Just baffling.

Phew!

GlastonSpur must be bricking it at the moment.

How are people saying this was a shit game? This was vintage United?

Ravaged by injuries, we showed massive character and grit. Very Fergie-esquire game.

Spoilt cnuts.
This !!!
Southhampton turned up today with two superb goals & had the upper hand in the 1st half, they controlled midfield very well.
2nd half we really turned it around.
Ole made some tactical changes & that really worked for us.
Andreas goal was top quality. Lukaku found his form & should have had his hattrick.
Really impressed with Ole & his tactical changes.
On to the next one.

thats the tsn scottish guy? had him on the first half stream. what a massive knob. i think angus gunn is his son the way he was banging on about him and what a fool for the non penalty soton had. was he just as insufferable in the second half? abu
That was just embarrassing bit of commentating, just pathetic. He said fergie time is alive and kicking.........it was the 88th min.

Nervy but nice. 3 points in the bag. Pogba looks like he needs a lie down. Need Herrera back asap.

They scored two worldies and were better than us in the first half especially, but we dug deep, Rom turned up and well pleased with that.

Love us.
Dont get where this is coming from. It wasn't vintage by any means in that first half, but we were markedly better. We created more, more shots, more possession etc. Southampton had 3 shots on target all game. 2 long range worldies and a comfortable catch, that's it. In contrast, if we hadn't got a 3rd Gunn would've likely got MOTM.

Not the best of performances but a well deserved victory.
Think we should give Lukaku a brake for now. 4 goals in 2 matches. Thumbs up!

Looked like we played better once Sanchez was off

Lukaku deserves all the plaudits today. Stood up to be counted in the 2nd half. Great second half fightback from the team. The mentality is rock solid atm.

Ecstatic! :)

Disgraceful from Pogba not to give the ball to Rom imo. Clearly frustrated at being asked to play second half deeper and wanted to be the main man, his yellow too :wenger:

Was a good game to watch but a poor team performance with some individual stand outs. Still i only care about the points for this run in.

What sort of a half witted post is this? Christ. Pogba is the designated penalty taker. Of course he takes it. Have an agenda much?

Great win. It really feels like United atm. We weren’t great but given our injuries I’m not surprised. It was telling that we had to move Pogba deeper to get a bit more control in the game as Perriera and McT just couldn’t find him or anyone else. I still don’t think I either will make it here but Perriera made the difference today. The team showed real heart and desire to get the win even through the circumstances.

Also really happy for lukuku. A lot of people forget how good he was for us last season. He’s a fighter and a good player, one that I’m glad plays for us

Edit for everyone saying Pogba should have given lukuku the pen. While I agree Pogba has taken responsibility to put his neck on the line and that’s all anyone should want

Still feel like we are riding the OGS wave right now and are on a high. So even though we are way passed honeymoon phase of when a new manager comes in. OGS is so fresh, me makes us feel like its always honeymoon.

I dont see it as a honeymoon period anymore, id say most dont, they Burnley draw and PSG loss ended that but thats not a bad thing. We know he can get us back to winning immediately. Ole will be the manager next season.

Tough match. Nearly all the tight decisions went United's way, Smalling and Young might have conceded penalties in the first half, Lukaku touch and go for offside for one of his goals.

Thought Southampton played well. United perhaps too direct in the first half, not much controlled possession.

Brilliant goal from Andreas Pereira, also got an assist for Lukaku's first goal and put in a superb cross that Lukaku headed wide in the first half.

Lukaku scored with two brilliant shots and had 3 decent chances in the first half.

Dalot gave us some momentum after he came on, Fred with the assist for Lukaku's winner.

Pogba and Rashford had off-days. Southampton scoring from a free-kick conceded by Ashley Young was well deserved.

On the basis of the second half performance and the amount of chances overall it would have been very harsh on us if we hadn't won this.

Lukaku was a match winner again, undoubtedly.

Don't think what I said is controversial? For at least 30 minutes first half we were proper under the cosh. Rest of my post was positive.

Yeah I agree, its long passed it, but for me still feels like we in dreamland, think until he gets the job on a perm, reality will set in for me. :D

Is we a winger or an attack mid usually?
Don't watch enough Soton to answer really, seem to remember him breaking through with them in a more central position but maybe they moved him out wide to take advantage of his delivery.

Cheerio Sants, ya filthy animals.

Happy for Andreas and Lukaku, who have come under fire recently.

Let's keep it going.

I worry for this child :D

Lukaku saved us, we were awful. Young is a liability, how much longer do we put up with our great leader?

He needs to just simplify things a little. Pare back his aggression in certain moments. If he can manage that then he'd be alright. Easier said than done though when you're predisposed to certain things.

The other thing is, how decent is Dalot looking further up the pitch? Are doing a Bale with him! Lovely long range effort as well. What a difference he made. And whilst I've been crying out for Dalot to replace Young at RB, if Dalot continues in this vein then what an option Ole has for when Rashy and Martial aren't about for the pacey wing play.

Need to move on sanchez for literally anything.

Totally. It's a shame but the man has completely lost it. He seems built for Barca/Arsenal style tiki take...even more so now he's lost all his pace. The fact he forces everything still even now, not keeping it simple, I think there's zero hope for him. Multiple injuries are probably just around the corner too. China USA Russia, where art thou!?

Ward Prowse? Good enough for a top 6 club?
I rememebr this guy.... 4-5 years ago. Then forgot about him and assumed he didn't kick on. Still has the technique obviously but dont think hes good enough week in week out.

Southampton really gave us a run for our money. Pereira stepped up today and Lukaku definitely won it for us. Dalot's introduction changed the game for us. OGS got the subs right on.

Pogba was quiet today though, and Sanchez is such a waste of a player. Now he can only warm the sickbay bench.

I doubt that Southampton play like that every week or they wouldn't be in 17th place.

I'm actually shocked by how good they were. Organised, hard working, their passing was crisp and precise (including some excellent cross field balls), kept us pinned for long stretches and constantly looked dangerous.

If it wasn't for Lukaku, Ward Prowse would have been MOTM. His set piece delivery was immense.
