Mass Shooting in Christchurch, NZ Mosque | 14th March 2019

It is always the innocent people who end up being attacked, be they Muslim victims or Christian, or Atheist. Too many lunatics running around these days like that clown who killed all those innocent people in New Zealand. He should be put away for eternity and never allowed out again.

Can we not link to/quote Rush Limbaugh?
He’s such an odious cnut that doesn’t deserve the publicity.

Extremist ideologies whether it's islamist, right winged etc to be killed with fire. It's a bleak future for humanity even without these.

Abdul Aziz deserves some attention.

Mr Aziz said as he ran outside screaming, he was hoping to distract the attacker. He said the gunman ran back to his car to get another gun, and Mr Aziz hurled the credit card machine at him.

The gunman returned, firing. Mr Aziz said he ran, weaving through cars parked in the driveway, which prevented the gunman from getting a clean shot. Then Mr Aziz spotted a gun the gunman had abandoned and picked it up, pointed it and squeezed the trigger. It was empty.

He said the gunman ran back to the car for a second time, likely to grab yet another weapon.

"He gets into his car and I just got the gun and threw it on his window like an arrow and blasted his window," he said.

The windshield shattered: "That’s why he got scared."

He said the gunman was cursing at him, yelling that he was going to kill them all. But he drove away and Mr Aziz said he chased the car down the street to a red light, before it made a U-turn and sped away.

Scary that the guy had the time and mind after the first shooting, to drive across town and do it all over again. Balls of steel on your man Aziz. A credit card machine, some quick thinking, and no fear.

But the 48-year-old, whose four sons and dozens of others remained in the mosque while he faced off with the gunman, said he thinks it’s what anyone would have done.

(...)

Latef Alabi, the Linwood mosque’s acting imam, said the death toll would have been far higher at the Linwood mosque if it wasn’t for Mr Aziz.
He says he's not a hero, but he definitely is. Just incredible.

Eco-fascism to be precise.

I was just making the point that the gunman's claimed political ideology is like a niche within a niche. So it makes any nonsense about false flag operations even more bizarre and misplaced.

I have no idea where to look for it now but around last year I found an image (from either the chans or somewhere like that) explaining fascism to outsiders, in terms of good and bad things. Socialism, democracy, feminism and multiculturalism were very bad, markets were kindof bad (perhaps they specified (((bankers))), I can't remember), the family, motherhood, nationalism, traditional values -- and environmental protection-- were good. Yes, eco-fascism as a label is niche, but preserving nature is literally a part of mainstream Nazi ideology - I'm talking the 30s originals, not just the online ones.

So I think his ideology isn't as unique as you (or maybe he too) are suggesting.

About memes generally:

See, I'm not so dumb that I don't understand the meme potential of this. But I also think that it is a (in this case, extremely thin) cover for endorsing genocide.

He's been raving like a lunatic in prison and is constantly shouting racist slogans.

I'm beginning to wonder if this incident isn't an anomaly, but rather a glimpse of things to come.

Things will only get worse now.

Right wing political parties are winning across the world, once most of the governments are right wing then it wont take much to start world war 3.

I feel the same way, I don't even understand it all.

Whats not to understand ?

Some people just have different views and are willing to kill for it. Man is by nature violent, I've accepted the fact that every society has scummy people and a silent majority tend to not give a shit about those scummy people as long as they're not being targeted. Most people don't give a shit apart from lip service if minorities are prodded and maimed every now and then.

I read about him this morning, he probably saved a lot of lives, what a fecking guy.

Might it just be the deranged thoughts of a lunatic killer? Maybe just?

Should be referred to as his "deranged thoughts", manifesto implies an actual ideologically sound theory. We shouldn't do him the favor of calling it manifesto only because he chose to write that word above his deranged nonsense.
But it is an ideology.

Cheers Wibble.

@Lj82 that's how he got in. And the One Nation party is the one that our racists and islamophobes vote for.

I forgot a bit. He missed out at the election but got a seat when that loon Malcolm Robberts got kicked out for being a foreign citizen.

But it is an ideology.
I don't know. Wiki says:
The term is especially used to describe a system of ideas and ideals which forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy.

I don't know if any wild assortment of hateful beliefs really is an ideology, or if it's just that, an assortment of hateful beliefs particular to that person.

Don't understand me wrong, i'm not denying the existence of far right / alt right ideology and it's terrible influence on human societies, that's not my intention. They clearly lead people like this to become terrorists. I just don't want too be to generous when describing their pseudo intellectual ramblings.

Sadly I don't think it's particular to him, I think it's more widespread than we believe.

I meant this writing of his that people call "manifesto" is particular to him, not that he's a racist scumbag capable of horrible things, I too fear there are a lot more of those :(

Only in Queensland could these clowns really hold any sway. There was a delicious irony of someone from the One Nation party getting to boot for not being born here.

Well, it's possible he's had some kind of breakdown, but that could also be a ploy to try to plant the seeds of an "insanity" defence.

I was reading comments from one of his grandmothers yesterday - she immediately went to "he can't be in his right mind". I can understand family members citing mental illness as a kind of explanation for him doing something so awful, but I somehow can't see it washing in court.

It's not like he was going to tell his family what he was going to do, if the court becomes lenient with him and label him "crazy" then they would really fail society.

Very brave man.

The insanity plea is ridiculous and shouldn't wash in any court, in my opinion to do something so horrific like this has nothing to do with mental illness, the guy is just pure evil.

Apparently Erdogan has been showing the footage from the murders at his rallies, to rile up his supporters. Also shown part of the killer's manifesto and he's also claiming that...

“They are testing us from 16,500 km away, from New Zealand, with the messages they are giving from there. This isn’t an individual act, this is organised,”

Drive more fear and anger into the hearts of people for your personal gain, why don't you. You absolute cuntbag.

EDIT: Hey, I can say cnut. cnuts! Or not :(

He did similar shit-stirring in his campaign in Holland. I wonder what can be done to get him to shut the feck up.

Doing exactly what a Muslim leader with (ever increasing) sway shouldn't be doing.

And in Germany too, hence he got blocked from campaigning there. Because his speeches were provocatory and trying to drive a wedge between German-Turks and Germany. Which is why he became a public enemy there and why Ozil posting pictures with him became highly controversial.

I mean whoever remotely follows politics, should know he's a weapons-grade cnut by now.

NZ has been absolutely amazing throughout this tragedy. Got this a message from a friend whose relative was shot dead.

  • Immediately called it terrorism.
  • NZ flag at half mast
  • Raised over £2.5 so far
  • Gun laws changed
  • Mosques now patrolled
  • Sincere mourning throughout the country
  • Prime Minister meeting all Islamic leaders
  • Multiple vigils throughout NZ
  • Major events cancelled
  • NZ's supporting and escorting Muslims in case of fear
  • No fake news and genuine disgust at terror attack
  • Some local companies providing water and fruit at vigils
  • Government paying funeral costs
  • Air NZ lowered air costs so people could visit those mourning and wanting to attend funerals
  • Made it illegal to repost videos
  • Classified as a national tragedy

Nice to hear in these sordid times.

He's scum of the highest order. But political leaders like him will only succeed in the near future. The electorate likes thugs and hooligans in good attire.

Canada tries to be a good country. The world would be better place if they followed our example such as legalising cannabis

Jokes aside, I don't fully understand how Canada manages to be so wholesome.

Yeah you only have to see our own country for proof of this.

Consuming? It seems you are just a wind up merchant. There is not much difference between the two as we are both investigating the act this guy committed. I can even say that not watching it makes you more complicit as you are more likely to forget about this event than those who did watch the video and are appalled by what he did.

Moreover, you can barely call me consuming his actions as I only watched the video once and I am sure many others who are vocal about their opposition towards this act did as well.

To make this more clear to you, watching murder video is sick if you get some form of pleasure of it and only those who promote this guy ideologies or have mental problems achieve those pleasure not individuals who has already done more than openly condemn hate and his ideology.
The Pete Townsend defence.

Not trying winding you up but if you watch snuff videos you ought to be called out for it. There is a reason this stuff gets banned. And there is a reason media outlets that posted this get criticised.

Our country was built on cooperation, because when European settlers first arrived they had no choice. They welcomed assistance and advice from the indigenous peoples and the those in settler communities looked out for one and other. Without this collective effort they all would have froze to death, something that happened on a fair few occasions anyway.

NZ PM refusing to refer to the attention-seeking murderous twat by name, was a nice touch, too.

He'll forever be called "terrorist" and "criminal" by her in all public pronouncements.
