Internationals March (Euro Qualifiers + Friendlies)

Is Keane that much better on the ball?

And when it comes to actual defending Smalling is twice the player Keane is.
My 10 year old daughter can pass better than smalling whilst wearing her roller skates. I'd say Keane can pass better yeah. Anyway, take it out on Southgate, he was the one that said he wants players that can play from the back hence dropping smalling

Smalling can't pass for shit and for some reason Gareth wants players that can pass at the back.

Because it enables us to maintain 68% possession. What we do with that possession isn't on the defenders.

He is playing a kid who hasn't even started for his club yet - absolutely insane stuff for an away International against a reasonable opponent. That's England stuff of old and it's really not good.

There's nobody else fit in the squad that plays in the same position.

He isn't. Just giving reason why Smalling not in. He is just scraping the barrel so he doesn't have to pick Chris.
Thats what I think as well. He picked Jones ahead of him ffs. Personally I think its a bit of an excuse, and then the media and fans take it seriously and run with it

Ronaldo out injured

Literally everything that can go wrong goes wrong. We should have scored 3 or 4 already, if we keep going like this we can turn this around

Keane might not be a great defender (TBH not helped by playing for that Everton team) but I swear I saw that statistically he's the most dangerous player from set pieces in the league?

May be entirely making that up, tbf.

To be fair scoring headers is one thing Smalling definitely can do. Souhgate has backed himself into a corner when hes scraping the barrel with injuries but the point hes making is a valid one, we need to be able to keep the ball.

feck all this fancy 4-3-3 winger type shit. Lets get back to basics from last summer and the set pieces! I wanna see the train again from corners we loved a few of those last summer. Makes the opposition look nervy.

It's just a thing people say now.

I don't think anyone has been super confident with England since about 2006 but people still think we all think we're the best in the world.

I swear the most confident thing I've heard uttered by England fans is that we're 'quite good'.

Not watching a game, tell me did we turn into ultra giga Sunday league team?

My only issue is that it feels vindictive. if its purely for sporting reasons then fair enough. I just think its harsh beacuse it's not like he constantly gives the ball away, and he could just give it to a midfielder to pass it forward. Smalling is also on great form so it's odd that his NT career seems to be over.
