Fantasy Premier League 18/19

Sterling has played 2 full international games, does that mean baldy will rest him ?

I reckon so. But it’s probably worth the risk even if he only starts one game. There’s plenty of time between now and Saturday, so I can see some players being rested for Cardiff at home before the FA cup semi.

I can’t decide whether to go with Kane or not. The fixtures aren’t brilliant and I’m definitely having to sacrifice in defence to do it. However, someone just behind me in my league has him and is most probably going to triple captain him. So it would limit the damage a little.

Yeah far too risky to leave him out. Few days off now anyway before training and the game against Fulham on Saturday. Of course the flip side to the "he might get rested" coin is that he's in the form of his life and it would be foolish to leave him out. City are still in the box seat for the title and Sterling/Aguero are key to that. I'd think they'd be more likely to rotate for the FA Cup semi tbh especially with the CL game against Spurs on the Tuesday after.

A CPFC double defense.
Hell yea

What's the reasoning behind backing palace? Considering AWB too, but not sure if I can trust Palace. It's probably just 1 game's chance for a CS as Spurs probably will score against them. Could be good value though.
What's the lowdown on Guaita? Is he first choice keeper, or is it random whether he will get the two DGW games?

Must haves for me is Aguero, Sterling, Hazard, and probably 2 x Chelsea in Defence

Guiata is 1st choice it seems , he has started/played all bar 1 game against Burnley which Hodgson said that it was specially because of long/high balls which he thought Hennessey would deal better with.

Who else from City besides Sterling/Aguero is worth going for?

Ederson seems the obvious choice, but much doubt about the other players. Mahrez has played a bit more lately (1 assist 1 goal) making it tough to pick either him or Sane.

Is David Silva a good pick? Hasn't played for Spain has he? Would probably require +2 goals/assists to make up for possibly 2 x clean sheets

I have gone from a full team of DGW players to now having 3 yellow players. I still have decent cover on the bench though, just not DGW players.

Still not sure whether to go for Etheridge (vs Chelsea & City) or Flappy (vs Everton). I doubt either are likely to get much out of those games. Etheridge has been a points machine for most of the season though.

@ROFLUTION Laporte? Hasn't played over the international break so should be okay to play 2 games. Plus a lot of the other city defenders are yellow flagged.

Kane yes or no? He’s so expensive, meaning I can transform my team without him. Normally I’d go for Jiminez, but there’s potential he’s being rested.

If others in my league are going to triple captain him, is it even worth having him as non captain to cover it (I’m first at the moment).

Aguero's double game week consisting of Fulham and Cardiff is definitely set isnt it? Swear he had no games when I last looked.

If so its triple captain time! Bet he does nothing or is rested I was tempted the week he had Chelsea and someone else, thought oh they are hard games I'll wait he goes and scores a hat trick :wenger:

Who are the safest City players? I don't think I can afford Sterling and since Pep and Sane messed me around the last time they had a double game week I've refused to have City players apart from Aguero  or do you think he will rest Sterling given he's been used by England?

It makes me feel ill to consider removing Mane so I can move players around to afford Sterling, I still may not be able to and the form Mane is in means he may beat Sterling's score especially if Pep does his usual and trolls everyone...

Might have to be Pogba but think I have too much value to make up but hes done nothing for a couple of weeks maybe I'm jinxing him I used to refuse to have United players as anyone I pick usually gets injured I put Rashford in recently too...

Oh didn't realise Hazard had a really easy double game week too... hes probably a safer bet than Sterling but I put him in last week with my free hit and he did absolutely nothing :annoyed:

Hmm. Tempted to downgrade Pogba to Martial. Then I can get pretty much the exact free hit team I want.

Kepa
Azpi / Laporte / Lindelof / Schlupp
Sterling / Hazard / Martial / Knockeart
Kane / Aguero

Admittedly Knockeart isn't the greatest pick, but I'd be very happy with that team.

Not sure why I care as well out of the running in my work league unless Aguero scores 10 goals as my triple captain but this is my team:

GK- Fabianski & Ryan

Defenders- Robertson, Pereira, Doherty, Holebas & Bennett

Midfielders- Son, Mane, Brooks, Pogba, Milivojevic

Strikers- Rashford, Jiminez & Aguero

I'm thinking of removing Son and Pogba and bringing in Deulofeu and Sterling. Theres no way I can afford Hazard and Sterling even removing Mane and Hazard tends to down tools when I have him.

I have used my free hit last week and will be triple captaining Aguero with whoever I pick of Sterling or Hazard as vice

Very similar to mine. Gone for Deulofeu and Rashford instead of Martial / Knockaert. More dangerous positions and Better form in Rashford I feel.. But a little unsure whether Deulo will play much against Fulham..

Also gone for Ederson as he's 100% safe to play both, while Luiz has a lot of of key passes to attack

Sea of yellow on my team for the weekend

Otamendi, Rashford, AWB and TAA.

Do I need to make subs or should I be OK? First three named are the main ones of concern

I think Rashford and AWB will be ok. Not sure on TAA and who knows if Otamendi will get any minutes.

Well sounds like Lukaku might be out. On this at the moment.

Guaita / (Hennessey)

Azpilcueta / Schlupp / Lindelof / (Connolly) / (Simpson)

Hazard / Sterling / D Silva / Pogba

Aguero / Rashford / Higuain

I don't particularly like Higuain in there tbh. Might switch him out for Jimenez or Batshuayi. Also, Silva might not get 2 games now with KDB coming back to fitness so might plump for the safer option in Laporte/Ederson.

Current squad is:

GK: Allison, Guaita
DF: Doherty, Lindelof, Rice, Pereira, Schlupp
MF: Pogba, Sterling, Mané, Deulofeu, Doucoure
FW: Aguero, Jiménez, Rondón

Not sure if I'll make any changes yet..

Before I press the TC button on Aguero, Sterling or Hazard, are there any better TC options for the reminder of the season?

Guaita
Lindelof AWB Otamendi
Gungodan Pogba Salah Deulofeu
Rashford Vardy Aguero (C)
Subs: Robertson, TAA, Redmond

Currently my set up for the coming gameweek. Finding it tricky to strike a balance between transfers for the DGW this week and then quite a few teams blanking in GW33. Will most be able to field full teams in GW33, what players are people targeting to cover their bases for both weeks?

Really difficult to decide between sterling or Aguero for TC. Aguero is likely to play more minutes but sterling gets extra points for goals and clean sheets and also seems so haul more.

Aguero for me anyway, Sterling played full minutes over the international break whereas Aguero was completely rested

Not sure on Jimenez’s minutes (and I don’t like having loads of money in the bank) so tempted by this draft:

Kepa
Azpilcueta / Schlupp / Lindelof
Hazard / Sterling / Son / Sane / Pogba
Aguero / Rashford

This City team is so good that it’s not unrealistic for them to score ten goals against Fulham / Cardiff - so I’m tempted by three attackers as opposed to Laporte.

I wanted double Chelsea as well, with Kepa the standout keeper imo given his fixtures and 5.4 price tag.

I've gone with my Wildcard, £2.1m ITB. Thoughts? Fabianski to Kepa?

Fabianski - (Button)

Lindelof - Robertson - Doherty - Wan-Bissaka - (Valery)

Mané - Pogba - Sterling (V) - (Stephens) - (Hojbjerg)

Jiménez - Aguero (C) - Higuain

Argh not sure I want Kane now. He's just too expensive. I could replace him with Rashford (who looks a more appealing prospect with Lukaku out) and get in Alli for Knockeart, Lindelof for AWB and upgrade Luiz to Azpi.

Taken him out too. Just unsure on Jimenez or Batshuayi. Would have to find an extra 0.1m for Rashford annoyingly.

Very high chance Jiminez gets rested with the FA Cup game. He's been my consistent bargain but he's already out for Batshuayi this time for me.

Also tempted with that, but Laporte could be assisting 6 of them couldn't he? Plus two CS.

He’s had one assist all season so statistically it’s unlikely he’ll even get one assist.

He could get two clean sheets though, but City have conceeded the odd goal to weak teams before.

Feel like this free hit should be a an opportunity to be brave rather than play safe. Waiting on press conference news but a United & City triple up in attack feels like it could reap bigger rewards.

Martial, Pogba, Rashford & Aguero, Sterling, Silva/Sane anyone?

Triple United attack seems a bit much. Different proposition entirely to triple City against Fulham and Cardiff.

Watford at home, followed by a Wolves who will be resting players for the cup? Still not sure if I'll do it personally but it's not a bad shout.

Just seems like everyone has Rashford, Pogba and Lindelof in their teams. What points are people expecting from United defence though realistically? 1 clean sheet? So, 8 points?

You only need a goal and some bonus points from Martial to eclipse that.

It would mean losing Kane though and going 3-4-3 with double Palace & Chelsea defence. I'm pondering. Just hope we get some clear team news before the deadline.
