Greater loss than either a confirmation vote or custom union. Way forward should be clear

Yeah it was always going to be a very soft brexit imo - customs union will be the result I'd imagine but will need extension to Article 50 to renegotiate withdrawl deal thats if there is no general election/reversal of Art 50 in the meantime.

Just out of interest, what DO all of the MPs actually want?!

Just keep kicking the can further down the road. Eventually, everyone will forget about Brexit. :p

In all seriousness I actually think deep down none of parliament want to leave because they're sh!tt!ng themselves of the consequences if they do and no-one wants to take responsibility. Even the ardent Brexiters.

Steve Baker, deputy chair of the pro-Brexit European Research Group lobby, says in a statement:

“This must be the final defeat for Theresa May’s deal.

“It’s finished. And we must move on.

“It has not passed. It will not pass. I regret to say it is time for Theresa May to follow through on her words and make way so that a new leader can deliver a withdrawal agreement which will be passed by parliament.

“This has been a tragic waste of time and energy for the country. We can waste no more.”
