UEFA Champions League Quarter Final fixtures (9th - 10th, 16th - 17th April 2019)

I applaud Trippier. Brilliant performance.

Proud overall, especially of the performance after Kane had to go off.

So long to go, but I'm very happy we're giving it a real go.

Yes, you are right. Lets underrate Poch now and pretend that he would be bad choice. It is easier that way.
I'm not underrating him. I'm just saying it's not that simple. Until he goes to a big club we wont know how he works in those. And anyway as I said give our manager a chance. You're starting to sound like Amadeus. :D :D

What is your deal with City and penalties? They got a fully deserved penalty tonight...

It is silly to think it is deserved. Got plenty of more of those cheap ones recently too.

My guess is corruption to be honest. We know how shady the City owners are. I would guess they have payed some persons in the VAR team.

Ha ha feck off City, that's all. Hopefully they'll run out of gas come the end of the season.

The Porto player should have rolled on the ground and beaten on the floor and cried.
That's what Salah would have done

More chance of getting a blowjob from the Pope.
The image that just came into my mind is not good... yuck!

Seriously though, it was horrible from him.

Salah had no eyes on the ball. Really should be getting three games for that. Instead he'll get some award given to him and an offside goal or two and dodgy penalty in one of those three games.

I suppose they paid Danny Rose to be a moron too.

City are going to hammer Spurs in the return leg. Pep doesn't have much to worry about IMO.

Get any two of Bernardo, KDB and Sane in the team and Spurs will not be able to handle them.

I've said it before with VAR it's not going to be used to really make the right decisions more protect certain teams and help certain desired results. Those getting giddy over it coming to the Premier League will be in for a rude awakening when it's chalking off marginal goals against them and letting everything still go there way. There's a huge push for Liverpool to win the league and be relevant again and it's not just their ex-players in the media.
That’s a RAWK-ish post if ever I’ve seen one. You genuinely think there’s a conspiracy in football to get Liverpool on top again?

That’s ridiculous. Referees get it wrong all the time and VAR has been far from perfect since it’s creation. It’s not limited only to Liverpool.

Yeah, it almost feels like it players roll around in "agony", it forces a review and then maybe a call to the ref. How any VAR official watching that DOESN'T tell the ref to at least have a look is laughable.

They don't have any guidelines yet, its still humans deciding it.

Pep's management of the game has been absolutely terrible.
He always seems to try and over confuse things in the latter stages of the CL. Has a system that dominates every opponent and then tries to throw a curve ball in the biggest games when their normal system would probably get the job done (or at least make it easier)

@adexkola @SquishyMcSquish just saw the full replay of the Kane incident, you were obviously both right. I only caught the replay when Delph planted his foot on Kane's ankle.

Won the league and a few cups? Reached the CL final with Liverpool and Dortmund? Better than never doing more than a top 4 spot and a runner up in the league cup. Not shitting on Poch. Just that its beyond laughable to claim otherwise when he hasnt actually achieved anything tangible.
With all due respect to klopp, give the amount of spent by klopp this season to poch even he would have taken this spurs side to the next level.

I missed it too on first sight, cursed out someone in the thread who celebrated it. On replay I saw what happened.

 :wenger:

Spurs good for a goal in the return tie, so city would need three, which they could do.

Even if pochh came here, we require new players for reaching a good level because our players are lazy and some of them are not very intelligent when it comes to use of the ball and without it. Nothing any manager can do to change it. Neither pochh or ole.

We need a huge overhaul. Doubt it will ever happen sadly.

True.

Ahuh. But presumably they saw that and either thought "looked fine" or rewound it, had a look and THEN said "that's fine"?

For me it's a red card but at the very least, shout the ref to have another look?

I'm still hoping for a retrospective one, think its possible (under rules), don't hold out much hope though

And once Pochettino actually does take a team to that next level, then say hes better than klopp all you want. Until he does, he has nothing to stand on.

Jermaine Jenas is absolutely insufferable when talking about Spurs.

All well and good...but then who wins the league???

Didn't you see the poster's earlier post. He said City just to win the League and League Cup would be acceptable. I was agreeing with that.

There's an alarming number of decisions going there way and not against them and given the wankathon over them it's not far fetched for me to believe they are getting help and the officials are knowingly giving them the benefit of the doubt.
