UEFA Champions League Quarter Final fixtures (9th - 10th, 16th - 17th April 2019)

Ajax showing 11 players make the team, buying Ronaldo hasn't helped Juventus.

Why? Juventus are better than ajax in general. But right now? Ajax are a level above

And are deservedly through. In the CL form is everything

Ajax deserves to go through but Juventus have to be dissapointed to go out this early

No one expected that at the beginning of the season. And Ronaldo did his job

Well at least we weren’t the biggest disappointment of the night  Did Ronaldo cry?

I was going to laugh at Ronaldo, to make myself feel better about tonight, but then I remembered that he’s a multi millionaire and what our respective lives look like in comparison.

Please win it Ajax, for the sake of the sport.

Pleased Ajax got through, fancied them to do it at least on away goals but they've won well. I had the last 20 odd mins on and after about a minute de Ligt powered a header in and they could've had more. Very good intelligent bunch of players.

Pleased for Blind, played 50 games and looked much fitter than he did here.

Notes to take.

Juventus is shocking even with all of there injuries. they have a lot of work to do in the summer.

Ajax form wise are the best team left.

If Spurs win tomorrow that would be best for football.

An Ajax vs Spurs final is a win win for football.

Any of Liverpool or Barca will most likely win the CL my bet is Barca.
50 minutes ago i thought it was Liverpool. Changed my mind. Absolutely agree with bolded. This team right now is a buzzsaw

They over did it, I think they had room for at least one more goal. Ziyech was a poison

The night was already spoilt by that sham of a performance so I had to switch to the other game. Ajax are a beauty to behold. I wish they can go on to win the trophy.

Pjanic, Ronaldo, Bernadeschi, Dybala all old or one paced or both. Emre Can one paced and as useless as he was at Liverpool. Matuidi basically had to cover for everyone. Ziyech having a shit game saved Juve's blushes.

Experienced heads vs young legs. There's only ever one winner.

Emre Can was the only juventus player who was really good tonight, aside from Cris

Liverpool will complete dick that Barcelona side in the semi's :(

No, but they should be favorites

Liverpool have had plenty of moments of looking mediocre and barely got of their group

Barca’s midfield will run all over them but Liverpool will do damage on the counter attack

I don't think this Barca midfield will live with Liverpool's pressing, their defence certainly won't contain Liverpool's front 3 and with VVD I think they'll comfortably deal with Suarez and Coutinho who'll get stage fright against their old club

It'll take basically Messi to do it all himself (and perform way better than he's just done against us in two games) for Barca to stand a chance

They looked ruffled at Old Trafford (and we practically roll out the red carpet these days), so be interesting to see how they fair at Anfield.

Though you'd expect Barca won't be as complacent/lackadaisical given that they now Liverpool are a more dangerous prospect.

Juventus needed result and Ajax just kept playing football, never budged and retreated into their shells, take a bow.

… An Ajax vs Spurs final is a win win for football. ...

That's not possible, since if Spurs go through tomorrow night they'd play Ajax in the semis … and then either Liverpool (most likely) or Barca in the final.

I think Barca will beat Liverpool. They'll know not to over commit and can sit back and won't play into their hands. I don't think they've ever eliminated Liverpool in knockout play too so expect that to change.

I think if City makes the final they win it otherwise it will be straightforward for Barca.

So last game in CL for Utd for a while. As a result, with no players now being attracted to a Europa League team, how long will it take for them to get back in? Chelsea will struggle when Hazard goes but Arsenal and Spurs will improve for sure. Cant put it all down to Jose, next season Spurs will finally have spent some money and have about 15 players come back from injuries and Arsenal will have settled under Unai. Plus they won't be cursed by Thursday night games.

Clear WUM but feck it - no Champions League didn’t stop us from getting Di Maria, Pogba or Zlatan.

Not a WUM. And those are exactly the players you want to avoid. If your board has learnt from your own history then better scouting is required, Ajax model.

This Barca team are tailor-made for us. If we pass Porto we're going to expose every single one of their weaknesses.

I know.....I just said.. a Spurs vs Ajax Final is a win win for football because it means either one or the other go to the final.

Everyone is talking how Liverpool are a difficult match up for Barca, but I don't see it. They don't play that glorious and expansive football anymore, and can be got at, but they're more balanced and cynical side these days. Tonight was how 90% of their La Liga matches look like.

If Liverpool decide to attack them, they can live with that. Their keeper is brilliant, defense is solid and they look more comfortable and calm under pressure compared to a team like City. They'll eventually create an opening and score. That's what they did to Madrid this year.

If Liverpool decide to play the waiting game, good luck doing that against the team that is technically on a different planet and has Messi and Suarez upfront. I think City would beat them, as they are not only quicker and more energetic than Barca, but can also match them technically and are able to control the match at the same level.

Hearing Ajax played phenomenally well across both games as they did vs. Real Madrid. Makes me sad what a mess we are and Atletico's approach to the second leg vs. Juventus though I am happy for Ajax. Juventus (outside of City who I loathe and would root against anyone bar Liverpool) was the only side left that I felt could win a final vs. Barca or Liverpool.

It very much depends on what version of Barcelona you face, they're still quite capable of turning it up for the big games.

I agree with this.

Barca will handle Liverpool without too much fuss but would succumb to City.

And? Barcelona won't play that version of liverpool. They'll be playing a team that looks to be in far, far better form and shape than them
