UEFA Champions League Quarter Final fixtures (9th - 10th, 16th - 17th April 2019)

It was like the Agueroooooooooooooo moment in reverse watching them celebrate then realise when it's just been snatched from their grasp :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Ok so Spurs go through but your “cakewalk” prediction was just bollocks, wasn’t it?
Through on away goals with a questionable winning goal given by a VAR review. Imagine the number of candles you would have lit had you gone out that way.

 Just end up getting smashed and do us a favour on Saturday

And for a neutral, it's excellent to see someone celebrate a tie winning goal only to have it all taken away in an instant.

Does that make me a bad person?
Seeing Pep fist pumping like a madman and then fall to his knees in a mix of disbelief, sadness and anger nearly made me soil my pants honestly.

What's questionable about it? It's skinned his elbow and maximum contact came with the waist and the hand was not in an unnatural position. It's not a handball.

At least that's the quadruple gone now, just need anyone but Liverpool to win the CL now and City to win the PL.
Just realised, I will be hoping for a City win on Saturday when these two play each other again.
I think Llorente's goal could have gone either way with VAR, looks different from the various angles not really conclusive either way, but the disallowed goal at the end, don't think there is any debate at all.

If only it was possible for Liverpool and Barca to knock each other out. Two underdogs, Spurs v Ajax would've been amazing in the final.

Thanks mate! (and to all the other United fans who congratulated us)

Absolutely fecking buzzing.

I wouldn't even mind Spurs winning it to be honest. Maybe i'll get some stick on here for saying that.

But tonight just confirmed it for me, I hold no ill towards Spurs winning it.

Much rather Spurs than City or Liverpool obviously, but even rather than Real Madrid or PSG.

Don't see why you would tbh, it's not like we're rival clubs. I'm guessing 99% of neutrals would want Ajax to win it though, which is absolutely fair and if I was a neutral I'd feel the same way.

Should be two fantastic games against them .. little bit gutting that Son is out for the first leg.

What a game. Perfect pick-me-up after last night.

Spurs or Ajax wont win the CL. Stop hyping them up.

The CL is all about one person from this position. MESSI

That's what the world wants, football is all about one man the moment, and the sport means absolutely nothing without Lionel Messi. The CL is done, congratulations Barca.

Plus Arsenal Fan TV if you won the CL.

Oh my Word, it would be spectacular.

This is geniunely giving me a headache.

Not sure if there were some recent changes to that effect or if it's always been like this and I've watched football for decades without knowing it correctly.
I think you're thinking about the bit where the situation resets if there's a deliberate touch by the defender (for example a sliced clearance playing the attacker on even if he was offside when the pass was played), like the situation with Kane winning the penalty against Liverpool a year ago.
I think that is a stupid rule because the offside player forces the poor clearance from the defender, thus interfering with the opponent, but that's the rule.

With regards to the situation today, even if an "unintentional" pass doesn't make it offside, which I think it does, I would still call this intentional because Silva clearly sticks his leg out to play the ball which ends up at Agüero's feet. Otherwise the loophole would be that you wouldn't be able to be offside from shots because they're not technically intended as passes.

The only sad thing about that match is that it wasn't on terrestrial TV.

What does the forum think.. Lorente goal legit? Rio thinks it is handball
Goal for me. Hand is tucked in
