Champions League Semi Finals (30th April - 8th May)

The Ajax philosophy is the one we should be going for again. Invest in youth and free flowing football.
All great united sides under Fergie where built with a core of youth players- the class of 92 in the mid 90s and the Rooney and Ronaldo era of the 00s.
Remember one of my first united games - Pompey at home in 07 when Ronaldo scored that free kick. I was in awe at the one and two touch football, pace, movement.
I’d say this Ajax side is the closest I’ve seen to the old united way.

I’ve been watching for about 5 minutes but feck me I haven’t seen a match look like boys against men this much in a long long time.

And it's the boys that are winning it

Ajax are tactical perfection. It helps that they're young and play with so much energy, but wow

Ziyech is spreading play and finding players in dangerous areas with ease. I dont really want us to continue our current tactic of a right winger who plays centrally but if we are going to, he has to be one of the options. Good player

Depressing watching ajax when compared to how our overpaid wasters play.

Why didn't he cross? Would have been a legendary goal.

I think the cross was tight but Lloris went down so early it made the shot the right move, and he just failed to execute it correctly with a last-minute change. If he could do it again he'd pause a half-second and fire it the same way, just closer to the post.

Wow, this Ajax side are very impressive, De Ligt, De Jong, Ziyech, Van De Beek all really good.

Luckily our new DOF is there first hand to see these players.

Ajax are brilliant
That is modern day football. We however are stuck with players like young and lukaku that can't do the basics. Then you go deeper into the squad and ffind players like darmian and rojo that can't think past 1 move ahead.

Spurs missing Kane and Son badly.

Kane is obviously more mobile a target than Llorente but not sure he'd make a huge difference with this little service, but Son against this team, after what he did to the Germans and then the Dubai/City and their high lines/space on the counter, absolutely would be a real threat.

It's still a wrong comparison. You've still spent more over years to build your squad than them. They have to deal with all their best players being sold time and time again.

Look at this football, they are toying with you on a footballing level that goes beyond quality of players.

Add to that that this is ajax back in the CL since when? All guys with very few cl experience.

Boring. They're toying with us because most of our star players are not on the pitch.

They categorically do not do this to us if we have Son, Sissoko, Kane and Winks available. They make a huge difference. I don't give a shit what the two teams have spent, we have an injury crisis and they fecking don't, and that's HUGE.

To think Mourinho didn't want Blind in central defence but was happy to play Mctominay and Hererra there...

Kane is world class at holding up the ball and spraying passes to the wings. With he and Son in the side I doubt Ajax would be pressing like this.

I think they are missing Winks big time. Wanyama doesn't belong on the pitch in this type of match.

Please Sissoko and Winks aren't that good, you're making it sound like you're missing Prime Xavi and Iniesta

Kieran Trippier is consistently awful every time I watch him. £50m for Kyle Walker was a terrible deal for Spurs due to having to play Trippier instead.

Not much to do with the DOF. Teams like Ajax and barcelona have made it a priority to cultivate players with technique and high football IQ. At the top you find a team with balance between physique and Intelligence on the ball then there is us with no intelligence but a lot of physique.

Eriksen is the only effective looking Spurs player so far, pinched the ball a few times and done something with it
