Champions League Semi Finals (30th April - 8th May)

Can’t believe keepers are legally allowed to challenge like that. He was flying through the air with both fists extended.
Anywhere else on the field that is dangerous play and the offending player gets a red card.

Should be no different for keepers.

Needs a neutral adjudicator to judge for head injuries. Dunno if it's feasible but it'd be sensible.

Love Neres. Wouldn't mind him here.

I agree with you.

That said, you won't get much sympathy from neutral fans on this one. A top PL side against a side from the Netherlands? Even with the caveats of Tottenham not spending much and being hit hard by injury, the narrative will only go one way if this holds, unfortunately.

I don't expect sympathy, just some level of understanding that this is a Spurs side which has been ripped apart by injuries. The core of the side has been torn out, both our goalscorers aren't on the pitch.

No amount of money can replace certain key players in the team, and we hardly have an embarrassment of riches.

Ajax are struggling with some of the runs Lucas is making, with Son up there that increases 3 fold. Instead we have a lamppost.

I can't imagine that the club doctor really cleared him twenty seconds before he became sick like that. Managers have to stop putting pressure on the medics. It's just fecking football, you pricks.

(If that's what happened, but I'm guessing that he would've shown some evidence of concussion before he came off)
This is why we need impartial medical staff on match days.

I think it is the plan, Ajax clearly playing the better football, so we were never gonna outplay them. We have played with three at the back a few times and it always seems to end up with a lot less of the ball.

So not plan. Spurs are trying to keep the ball but Ajax's work rate and pressing as a team is very good.

Nobody has mentioned so I have to. We're so awful compared to Ajax. Disgusting.

our players should watch this game and then hang their heads in shame

this is what teamwork looks like, everyone helping each other, no one hiding

Wanyama really struggling out there, surely Dier or Foyth can't be worse?

Spurs' team looks squeezed to the max depth-wise and fatigue-wise.

Pochetino looks like the ocassion has gotten to him. Well and truly rattled.

Excuses excuses.

Yeah god imagine making dumb excuses like 'we're missing our two star attackers' or 'Wanyama is actually having to play and is the worst player on the pitch'. You know, totally valid reasons.

Its shit. You want these kind of occasions to have all the star players on the field, we have almost none of ours. If Liverpool were playing Barcelona without Salah, Mane, Fabinho and Wijnaldum I'd be saying the exact same thing.

First 35 minutes is on Poch. bizarre starting with a back 5, just sent a negative mindset out and invited pressure on. Lost the midfield battle instantly and couldn't get anything going in attack. Look much better with a back 4 that they're used to.

Im saying against Liverpool and City we didn’t play our usual possession game and allowed the opposition more of the ball, it’s my observation of course I could be wrong and I really can’t be assed having a debate about it to be honest.

It's Ajax, not Barcelona.

Van de Beek. Third time I’ll say it but what a player.

Wish we’d throw De Jong kinda money at Ajax for him, or De Ligt. Not totally convinced by Neres.

Almost for Spurs

4 at the back is working well for Ajax.

It's Ajax, not Barcelona.

They are clearly a good side and very hungry.

Wanyama and Llorente are completely out of their depth against the likes of Brighton or West Ham, let alone in the CL. It's a fecking joke we're having to start them, they're a total and utter liability.

My eyes are hurting watching this semi. Where the feck are City? They would have destroyed Ajax by now.
