Champions League Semi Finals (30th April - 8th May)

TBF we're not supporting Spurs so maybe their fans are just extremely frustrated with him while we're talking from neutral perspective.
He's been one of spurs best players so far

Why the feck are we getting linked to Trippier?! United best not even think about it. Damn crap rumour which needs to go away.

Kane is world class at holding up the ball and spraying passes to the wings. With he and Son in the side I doubt Ajax would be pressing like this.

I think they are missing Winks big time. Wanyama doesn't belong on the pitch in this type of match.

Ajax would definitely be pressing like this, but Spurs would be more dangerous on the counter. Ajax went at Madrid in the Bernabeu, I don't think their manager has them focused on limiting Spurs, even away from home.

Kane is a much better target than Llorente due to his mobility and just being more consistent than Llorente (who is quite good at holding the ball up and has sprayed a couple decent passes today).

Totally agreed on Son.

And same for Winks, who's nothing special at this level yet but who has the technical skill and intelligence to play in this game without looking like a random Brighton or Burnley midfielder but a bit of extra athleticism like Wanyama and Alli have mostly done. United fans saw this when Scholes came on at 57 years old in the CL final and was visibly our only midfielder good enough to do anything other than try to annoy the Barca midfield.

More to do with the fact that they suddenly can't control or pass the ball!

Spurs are playing with more conviction as they should if they are to take anything from a home tie. They are still not threatening. I see Ajax getting a second before Spurs get a first

Weltman seems to be quite a touchy-feely type of player, he has issues letting other players go.

Thats a weird sub, think Ajax wide players are killing them at the moment.

Spurs fan should be happy, if it stays like this, I feel confident that Spurs with the return of Son, Sissoko, winks and perhaps Kane with horse placement treatment will have a good chance to go through to the finals. Else, Barcelona or Liverpool are the champions league winners.

@SquishyMcSquish Why does it always seem Spurs start off with a back 5 important matches, get dominated, switch to a back 4, and get back in the match? Why not just start out with a back four? Honestly asking.

We're doing it due to our lack of available midfielders, but the fact is it so rarely works that I wish Pochettino would just stop.

Like I said before, it worked vs Dortmund to an extent in the first leg vs them, but since then has failed every single time.

Nah Ajax lost the edge. Is a good sub in terms of changing the approach.

I actually like this about ten Hag that he doesn’t wait things to go to shit before making a change.

I'm sure they'll be made up to lose at home in a semi.

It's Spurs game now. They managed to turn it into a game of physical duels, which is one of their strongest points. Ajax are struggling to reassert order

The Ajax keeper ain't half bad.

I fecking hate our full backs.

You watch liverpool play and you have two in Roberson & TAA who can deliver a great ball consistently. Our two constantly put in shite, weak efforts.

It's meant to be Trippier's strong point but he hasn't even been good in that respect this season.

I suggested before when we line up more defensively Poch seems to be happy with surrendering possession and try to win the ball high up. It worked again Liverpool last season, but rarely any other times. Poch isn’t perfect.

Makes sense. The did play well vs Dortmund in the first leg. He should stop though. It usually leads to them soaking up lots of pressure.

Trippier with another brainfart. Looks like United quality right there.

Must be watching a different match. He's trying for sure but all of those strikers save maybe Sturridge would offer a whole lot more.
Spurs took over the game by bypassing the ajax press with long balls for Llorente, who keeps winning those duels and get his team up

They'd still be chasing shadows without him

Trippier is a liability, what happened to airier?
