In the latest episode of the United Hour Podcast, Nik (@Rood) is joined by CEO Duncan Drasdo and Financial Director Andy Green from the Manchester United Supporters Trust for a special episode on all things behind the scenes at Old Trafford including a brief history of MUST and their aims today, views on INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe so far, and the Old Trafford regeneration.

I totally buy Daenerys being angry enough to burn the red keep down and slaughter Lannister soldiers.
I don't buy her losing her marbles to the extent that she's actively attempting to slaughter innocent people across the city, like actively targeting running crowds of people who were just taking shelter in the city. It serves no purpose and would have made far more sense if she destroyed the gates to allow the army in, then burned the red keep to a crisp .. which lead to the fire spreading and killing civilians.
Having her seemingly just decide she wanted to kill a bunch of women & kids was over the top.
So the true lesson is that books should never be adapted to film and people who lack the mental capacity to read books should only watch film. GOT is only saved by the fact that the Hobbit and LOTR were ruined a lot more than it was.

Knowing this series Jon will probably go to her and be like you are still my queen while a dying Tyrion challenges him to a duel before arya kills drogon and Daenerys is killed by the onion smuggler.
Exactly, just have her target the red keep and you have the exact same scenes with people running/dying.
I also like how Tyrion I killed my father and would have poisoned my nephew and sister Lannister is suddenly a family man.
Especially as there was wildfire stashed all over the city, they could have had Dany burn the red keep and a chain of wildfire go off wrecking the city.
This bit makes perfect sense. Tyrion loves Jaime, like he says he was the only one who treated him well growing up. He also saved his life from Tywin.
He hates his sister/father etc because they were horrific to him, Jaime was not.
Also 'if you don't like it then why watch it? people. Have no fear I'll never watch the last episode because burning my penis on a candle would bring me more joy than putting myself through the butchering of something that I have followed for years. I live in stupid hope that those who really love ASOIAF will get the ending they deserve otherwise meh.

Tyrion has hated Cersei from day one but suddenly appealed to a humanity in her that he never thought existed. Tyrion was the most butchered of all characters. He is the one who sees her true nature from season one but suddenly at the end decides to believe in her better nature? Maybe it's love of his family? Nah he killed his own father. What an absolute shit show of United proportions. The hard fact is that authors will always shit all over show writers.
This episode also emphasised how utterly ludicrous the idea that the Iron Bank would ever back Cersei ever was.
She had 3 dragons when they decided to chuck money behind her, and a far bigger army than she did now. They should have just taken the Highgarden money and ran, instead they invested in her .. why? They're portrayed as ultra shrewd, emotionally disconnected bankers who will go with the best bet possible, yet we're meant to believe they decided Cersei had a solid chance against dragons .. because she said they had a 'solution' to them?
She had a shadow of an army left and controlled ONE city when they decided to back her financially. How are these dickheads still in business with these kind of decisions? Oh yeah here have enough to buy 20 thousand soldiers even though the whole country despises you, you have no allies apart from a mad pirate bloke, and most of your army just got melted. We're clever. The feckers even backed Stannis when he had no army or navy left, at one point they're referred to as 'the best gamblers in the world' so can we please revise that they're the fecking worst.
The Golden Company would also never have agreed to fight for Cersei. They know about the dragons, they saw how effective they were in their own continent, there's no way they sign up to get melted alive with none of their own counter measures.

Do people really think the books will be any different regarding Daenerys? You will be in for a surprise if so. It was always going to finish like that for her.
Biggest problem isn't what happened with her, it is how it happened, rushed, rushed and rushed, writing is terrible because of that.

Exactly. Which would have consequences to her going crazy and letting out the dragon. That would have had far greater impact to her character development imo. Going overkill to ensure revenge results in the deaths of thousands of innocent people including her own troops. Would have given her far more depth than her going the way of her father which is a pretty simple story, daughter becomes father storyline. The irony being the wildfire that killed all those people was created by her father and she would be responsible for accidentally setting it off.
Or maybe learn to seperate books from TV and accept many people either don't have time to do both, no interest to do both, or are capable of taking each at its own merit rather than insult people's mental capacity. Tons of people enjoyed the LOTR movies very much despite loving the books as well.

Him trying to save Jaime (who he knows will only survive if he can live with Cersei) makes sense though.

Honestly mate no I won't. I've been invested in this from before the TV show was ever even conceived. I'd rather no end (which is likely) than continuing to watch the shit that has been served. Quote this when Jon goes against his character and kills Dany. It's so bloody obvious that I don't need to watch it. It's obvious that the best shows ever written were the likes of the Wire which never had book counterparts. I've watched LOTR ruined and had to listen to shit about it so I'm done believing in this shite. Not saying that anyone should agree with me by the way.
Daughter becomes father seems a bit too simple for GRRM. Daughter realising that her greatest enemy is the Dragon within and not the enemies in Westeros seems to be a bit more intelligent, trying to control herself and not cross over the line (which she will do from time to time). That's my hope anyway.

This is just campaign facade that she's using to dupe lords into gifting her the throne. Once she has it, she will pivot back to her Pentos liberal positions - socially liberal, fiscally moderate, with a bit Daenerys lunacy thrown in for good measure.
Probably the best episode so far. I agree however that Dany’s transformation to insanity is unnatural. She went batshit crazy in the space of 2 episodes. Aye, that'll be the reasoning/excuse. All boils down to what I said before, plot convenience.
I just wish they'd been a bit more creative with it. If you're going to make the scorpions uber powerful, play around with that idea and have them think tactically about it, some clever ideas about how to counter that/take out the scorpions so the dragon can come in to play etc, rather than just ignore what you've already established.
