The Independent Group for Change | Have decided to disband after ten months

Split confirmed. Luciana Berger, Chuka Umunna, Gavin Shuker, Heidi Allen, Sarah Wollaston and Angela Smith have all split from their split party.

Soubry is the new leader.

Difficult to take any political party seriously which chooses to have Sourpuss Soubry as its leader.

Funnily enough, whenever I've seen Gapes on TV he comes across as a fairly acceptable form of Socialism, although I suppose that's why he's no longer in the current Labour Party. and I reckon he'd be a much more acceptable ' face ' for the party than that face which I'd really like to slap.

Chuka and Heidi could both do a good job. The Lib Dems aren't exactly full of people who could do it.
The same Chuka who bottled running in the Labour leadership contest? There’s no guarantee they’ll even retain their seats as Lib
Dem MPs.

Guess it's more catchy than 'The Same Old Shit'.

Utter, utter embarrassment of a politician.

Question is, when's he going to quit "The Alternative" and start a group with an even stupider name.

Have to agree with you. When I first saw him and heard him speak I thought that he might be a future Labour leader.
But. He has made himself a laughing stock flitting from pillar to post.

Back in the day even as someone not necessarily keen on all his politics I generally felt he got a bit of a hard time and often spoke sense. But he's exposed himself as a vain and self-obsessed fraud over the last couple of months, the perfect example of someone who's achieved feck all but has bought into the hype surrounding them all the same.

At this rate we'll soon see the Labor Party.

'The Alternative Alternative'.

can he join the lib dem leadership election if he took the lib dem whip... not sure he would win but its his best shot at relavance

The Lib Dems would be fools to have him. Chuka is an absolute joke and the main reason I never really got on board with TIG.

The Alternative isn't anything new, it's just the name of his newsletter IIRC.

Journalists tweeting for likes.

So it's not a new group or anything new really ? Media are pathetic

The independent group is what they should have been called in the first place, so atleast its closer to that.

How could voters have any faith in this party's competence if its leaders weren't diligent enough about their own name?

I remember looking through some of their candidates up in Scotland before the EU elections and one of their candidates had accidentally linked to a parody account on their Twitter bio.

That's the part that makes me think it's not impossible.... I mean they elected Tim farron ffs

Chukka joins the libs...

Just watching him now on the BBC at a LibDem Press Meeting.

Droning on about the UK's political system being broken by Brexit, etc, etc....And how he and the LibDems will fix it.

What ?? Isn't he in particular and the LibDems in general some of the main contributors to the current problems.

Absolute slimeball !!
