WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

I don't think not spotting first time makes it any less obvious
I agree but she didn’t spot it on her second, third, fourth and so on and on and then couldn’t decide either so I don’t think the ref though it was obvious either

We absolutely did see it. Why are people trying to deny this?

There were 55 replays for a start. Maybe the massive dive was an influencing factor.

I can easily see very little contact, thanks.

You know it’s not clear and obvious when the ref goes to their screen and watches a million replays in slow mo and full speed and you still don’t know what she’s going to call as she runs back in the pitch.
That pen could have gone either way, yes there’s contact when you frame by frame it but they’re running next to each other. She wasn’t knee’d @Nick7

You watch that replay in full speed only and I doubt the ref spots anything
The Americans knee clashed with the English players calf. That's very obvious. Saying Knee'd is simply shortening that because I can't be fecked writing that first sentence out for people that can't see.

Another win for the good guys!

Soccer's coming home, it's coming home!

Well if that's the excuse, then the second one wasn't a yellow card either as I dont think that was intentional, recklessness was there in both incidents.
The difference for me is that in the first one, she was just shielding the ball and a hand happened to catch the opposers face. An American player caught Scott in the face a few mins later and got no booking.

For the second one, that challenge really was reckless so It was u u understandable

USA will lose the final. They looked jaded for a lot of that game and I think they won't have much left in the tank for Sunday.

USA just fitter than England. England need to work on the fitness , should not be losing out on all the 50/50's

Or maybe she did and just wanted to be 1000% sure as after all it is a big big decision.
I knew it was a pen after one viewing but I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted absolute certainty

That last 15 minutes from dumb from England, just like then men against Netherlands, where it could have swayed one way with a Var decision and instead fecked themselves after it.

They clashed yes, I’ve seen you say she was knee’d a couple of times. I didn’t know you just couldn’t be arsed to type the extra word

True enough

I really enjoyed the first half, the second was a bit shit though. England should be happy with the performance but they should be livid with themselves for the result. If you get a late(ish) penalty to equalise and you mess it up, that's just throwing your chances away.

Oh Ellen White your tears taste so sweet

Can't wait for the next time the US team don't qualify for the world cup because you've lost to Trinidad & Tobago or Haiti.

The tears will inevitably flow from the country who still think Landon Donovan was good.

Just knocked out of the world cup and then you have to stand there with big toe giving you cotton mouth with a team talk when all you want to do is feck off to the changing room.

Good pen to concede all in all, she did well whoever gave it away.

Yes? The Americans players knee hit the English player. I mean, I don't understand how that's confusing you?

USA actually looked like a good team that you could watch week in week out, aprt from their tiredness toward the end. They looked dangerous at every attack. I can't say the same for England. I think they had three moves which were great, but nearly every other attack was rubbish and they never really looked like scoring. They need more composure and better tactical plays.
