Predict the United first team 2019/20

Considering we played 4-2-3-1, who do people see starting as striker? Martial or Rashford? I assume the one who doesn’t will start on the left.

I think it’ll be Martial. Only time they’ve started together on tour Rashford was wide.

Front 3 will be fluid anyway.

Assuming we get Bruno & Maguire, and Axel goes on loan.

Martial.

Much better at dropping off and linking play than Rashford. Can rotate well with the attacking midfielder, especially if the attacking midfielder likes to make runs in behind.

I also think Rashford is much more livelier on the wing than Martial.

All in all, I think having Martial up top and Rashford on the wings would create a better balance for the team.

The attack is probably not realistic as Ole will play Rashford and Martial together, and Lingard will start alot of games. But that line-up is what I see the most balance, with more pace and energy. Actually Lingard is good for pressing game, but he also lacks quality and not a good choice on the left. We still need to score goals, I'd rather have Bruno and Greenwood there.

Martial on no9 and Rashford on the left is logical choice.
But Rashford as main striker is Ole's project so Rashford is striker 100%

Going by what Ole said and BBC reported, it won't be fixed position. I think both will change the position through out the game.
 
Hi, just a muppets dream here...if Ed is able to swap Lukaku for Dybala and still get both Maguire+Bruno, I’ll start a gofundme for a statue in his likeness to be built outside of Old Trafford.

Question marks change depending on formation, opponent, fatigue, etc. Can be a 433 with Dybala pushing up to the wing and a classic mid there, can be a 4231 with Dybala being 10, a right winger coming in (Greenwood/etc) and one of martial/rashford going left, can be a more classic 442 with one of martial or Rashford going wide and Dybala pushing up eight behind the other, and someone like James coming on the right. Gives us a lot of flexibility either way, and option to have a brilliant attack even if we want to put Matic there for greater defence.

Realistic 11 (actual opinion for main 11 this year):

Bailly is already injured. And Rojo will probably hurt himself on the toaster the night before the match, while Jones manages to injury himself when getting out of the team bus at Old Trafford. Smalling will score an own goal after a few minutes and get injured. Young, who is playing instead of new signing Wan-Bissaka, gets bird-poo in his mouth trying to curl a free-kick like Beckham.
Pogba is crying and flashes a Real Madrid shirt in front of Stretford End at half time, while unused sub Maguire tries to get a move back to Leicester. But don't worry, Lingard comes to the rescue and scores a hattrick and celebrates with a speciel new "beans-beans-beans celebration" in front of Lampard. And Old Trafford will be bouncing to the tunes..

It won't be long before Jones has a howler and/or injures himself and Smalling takes over that spot.

Fred may not start the season but I think he will establish himself as he fits with McTominay and Pogba, and well who else is there?

If we do get Dybala he will be a starter and the other 3 forwards will rotate around him.
 
Hi all.
With no signings since James and Bisakka It is hard to put a good prediction in without knowing the facts.
One thing is for sure Matic has to come out,his legs are like someone dipped them in led and put a shorts on him and told him to go and protect phil jones..
Its the thought of that rather than the led that affects him most...

For me the biggest problem is not defensively,but that our forwards are too young and too inconsistent and not playing at the level required.
We dont have a player to get 20+ goals.Your Aguero or you Salah/Mane.Thus the opposition have no fear of us and put pressure on our defence.
Any team up there has a player scoring that sort of goal ratio.

I could be wrong but i dont think Dan James currently has the intelligence to be a full time first teamer but of course i hope I am wrong.My team
includes the hope that we sign 4 players which of course is wishful thinking.But after the last few years one can dream.Ideally i would love to replace
Martial with a high scoring centre forward.But ultimately i would hope the current squad come good but i cannot see it happening

I hope we sign at least one player to play instead of Lingard/Mata. Fernandes wants to leave Sporting and it seems that he wants to come, he would be a good signing. Sadly, we didn't go for a RW this transfer window. Our first team with a player like Sancho would have improved a lot.
 
I think we'll start the season looking like - DDG, AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Matic, Pogba, McT, Lingard, Martial, Rashford and end the season with DDG, AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, McT, Fred, Pogba, Lingard (yikes), James, Rashford.

I think we're done for summer signings and we'll be stronger defensively and perhaps have a clearer shape and pattern of play but lack of quality in midfield and attack. Will come 5th or 6th and DDG contract runs down and he leaves and Pogba leaves.

The youth really better get their chances. I'm all for not making any signings in the attack - provided we give the. Chances. By the end of the season, we really could be looking at Greenwood and Gomes as starters, despite the age. Both look as good of youngsters as we've had in ages who would stand out in any youth system.
