They are showcasing why Pochettino is the best manager in the world right now. Chelsea has a transfer ban, they somewhat crumble. Pochettino doesn’t sign anyone due to lack of backing from his board, they reach champions league finals and finish fourth with the weakest squad depth out of the top six.

They need to be more clinical in front of goal, but generally they look good at creating chances (a skill I deem more important).
And defending counters is only one aspect of defending. Of course it will be more glaring against United and Leicester.
We might have weak depth but our starting XI last season pisses all over this Chelsea one. Without Hazard that attacking force is completely devoid of any top quality.
To be fair, Pochettino's squad had several top players.
Lampard has known most of his coaching staff for donkeys years. He said that his assistant (Morris) was his closest friend in football long before he took him to Derby.
I thought they were simply dead in the 2nd half. The match vs Liverpool going all the way to E.T after having much less rest than the Dippers. Lampard has a lot of work to do regardless

I'm not convinced about 2 things yet:
1. The ability of United or Arsenal to pull away from the pack
2. Leicester or Wolves' making decent pushes for top 6.
Who? The BBC asked about 30 of their "experts" and the only one who had Chelsea in the top 4 was an Ex-Chelsea manager!
I don't know anyone who is or was "so convinced" that we'll get top 4.

1. I don't think they'll need to pull that far away. Chelsea have taken a massive hit to their goals in the team by losing Hazard and it's going to translate to a lot more dropped points.
2. Don't think this will quite take shape, and Chelsea will probably finish relatively comfortably 6th, not miles behind 5th but never putting up a realistic challenge or actually entering the top four.
Sarri, despite all the criticism aimed his way, is a much more accomplished and experienced coach than Lampard is as well.
This is such a weak argument it’s actually laughable. We had players like Kane, Son, Eriksen, Verts, Toby, Loris... Chelsea have quite frankly not a great deal, their best players are defensive players and Lampard is an inexperienced manager better in attack than defence.
He said "they have enough quality to challenge for 4th place.". How do you get "so convinced they'll get top four" from that?
Because it’s their away kit and they were playing away against a team who has the same colour home kit.
Exactly that convinced me what he really thought: Chelsea are bankers for fourth. It’s just he chose to express himself in a more dignified manner.
It's the same pattern against us, Liverpool and Leicester today, they have a very strong start but they evaporate during the game. I think they need to manage energies better at this stage of the season, keep some balance initially and go from less to more. The way they're starting games is impressive but it's pointless if you can't sustain later some minimal level.
I tried to tell you guys in the matchday thread when they faced us that chelsea wont finish top 8. They don't have a great squad after losing their best play who was responsible for 70% of their creativity. Its like us if we lost Pogba and couldn't effectively replace him.
Lampard is also very naive keeping the likes of kante and pedro on who played 120 minutes against liverpool. So much space in between their midfield and defense. That tactic were they blitz out the first 20 minutes cant last. They just dont have the quality to play the way Lampard wants them to play. They are trying to replicate city when they have players like azpilicueta, kante, zouma for example who arent really comfortable on the ball.
If lampard wants to last till December he will have to change to a more counterattacking system where he doesn't leave the likes of jorginho easy to run past. Its going to be a long season for them I'm afraid.

You have to be worried with Frank, he was hailed as some up and coming manager when really he hadn’t done anything Derby haven’t done the previous year. Yes he’s attractive going forward but feck me at the back it’s an absolute shambles.

I m not too sure. Chelsea midfield is superior. Right back Chelsea is better and Rudiger and Emerson/Alonso is the same as Sanchez and Rose. Barkley, Pedro, William, Mount Odoi, Cheeks are not to far of from Ali, Son and Eriksen. I know I would take Odoi and Cheeks over Ali at the moment.
Kane is the only true top player. Then followed by Son or Eriksen who are at a level similar to Mahrez, Sane, Martial, Rashford, Etc. E.g., B/B+ players. Kane is A and I think on their day Son and Eriksen could reach A but are not consistently there yet. Chelsea had two A players, Hazard and Kante
This is a disingenuous (borderline deluded) argument. Chelsea lost their best player by far, and 2 games does not a crumble make.
Spurs did not lose anyone last year. They had nice continuity which Pochettino benefitted from.

Who exactly are going overhaul us in the top 8?
Yes Hazard will be a loss and short term will likely cost us top 4 but this notion he was single handedly preventing us from dining with Watford is as laughable as it is ignorant.
Forget about comparing players one by one. I would have Pochettino's team from last season over this Chelsea side 10/10 times and I think most would agree.
Derby weren't even consistently that good going forward. Scored less goals than the 5 teams above them. They had games where they destroyed sides but they were the standard Derby County, completely inconsistent and a playoff team, he changed nothing.
And that was with the likes of Mason Mount and Harry Wilson coming in to give him a helping hand.

They were a nice team to watch though, similar to Chelsea going forward.
Our defence was just as shit last season and we got 3rd. I'd bet we concede less this season that we did last.
I don't really care all that much about top 4. We'll just have to win the Champions League.
