Internationals September (Euro Qualifiers + Friendlies)

Thanks

Portugal must find an better CB than Fonte because then the starting XI is so

And maybe maybe Ruven Neves for Danilo or William Carvalho.

I think both Danilo and William are better than Neves right now. Starting eleven is the same as the Nations League final against the dutch, Felix on the bench and Guedes starts.

Ukraine winning and just seen they're actually 11 points clear of Portugal in the live table. I know Portugal have games in hand but that's quite a lead. Serbia would go 5 points ahead of Portugal if they win tonight so bit of pressure there.

I know Portugal used to getting through in play offs but isn't it said they'd get a harder opponent than what they used to get when play offs were seeded.
A Portugal defeat in Serbia tonight and they are in serious trouble because Ukraine & Serbia will reach at least 16 points and that would mean that Portugal must win all their remaining games.

Patrício; Semedo, Fonte, Dias, Guerreiro; Danilo, William, Bruno; Bernardo, Félix, Cristiano

The usual 4-3-3/4-4-2 hybrid with Bernardo on the right and Bruno on the left while defending.

Big game for us, if we don't win we'll most likely go to the playoffs which will be very tough.

Guedes in for Felix.

Should call themselves the reds tonight... - MiasanFranzos...

Must win for Serbia imo. Portugal are guaranteed 12 points from the cannon fodders and if they get a result tonight they'll probably just need a point in Ukraine to go through.

Delay to the start of the French game due to the wrong anthem being played for Albania. The stadium actually had the anthem of Montenegro playing! Not sure how this mistake has come about but their fans and players were not impressed and the ref has lined the players up again to play the Albanian anthem.

Fernandes robbing ex team mate Matic on the ball.

Funny even the commentators have noticed he wants too much time on the ball

I know he isn’t playing but

Unpopular opinion: Neves is overrated.

Nice follow-up to this from Germany's game yesterday:

Bombastic music and stadium announcers screaming inanities before kick-off deadened the senses as per usual, but the choreography by the official fan club of the Nationalmannschaft brought a very interesting and unexpected note to the overbearing proceedings. The placards they held up formed the word “Volley!”, and had everybody in the Volksparkstadion and those at home watching on TV scratching their heads in wonderment. What were they trying to say?

The enigmatic slogan, it turned out, was the result of a last minute change of heart. Initially, the idea had been to project “Vollgas”, a term popularised by Jurgen Klopp well over a decade ago, best translated as full throttle: a synonym for all-action football.

But someone had belatedly realised that referencing gas in conjunction with the national flag and the Netherlands as opponents was perhaps not the smartest idea. The ad-hoc adjustment produced a weird and unsatisfactory result but it avoided a far worse outcome, at least.

Can someone explain to me how Guedes gets called up for Portugal let alone start?

Thanks.

Darko Lazovic paid his spot in XI, there is no other explanation.
