Internationals September (Euro Qualifiers + Friendlies)

Take the lead, stop playing, give up a predictable and predictably dumb penalty. 1-1

Oh well

England having a better/more competent football team than the likes of Italy and Germany feels weird.

Ma mai nella vita

Never ever a penalty this

I mean, i'm not complaining given these refs keep helping us out, but not having VAR in fecking euro qualifiers is absurd

Felt like a friendly match. Seem like there's more rivalry towards Denmark in football for both of these.

How is Alcacer not starting every single game for us when we struggle so much to find the net sometimes?

This guy scores for fun.

Barella has put on a show here. Unlucky for Finland but I reckon they'll qualify anyway

Alcacer scored 2 more for Spain, Barcelona selling him only to lack a substitute for Suarez is hilarious.

This sucks, I reckon we deserved a win today.

True - but this team is more and more looking the part. A bit more experience - and we are there.

5 of the outfield Swedes starting today are 30+ we had Reginiussen and he was only playing because Ajer is injured.

For those of you watching Greece - why are they so poor ? I haven't seen them for several years, but the clubs are doing fairly well and they aren't foreigners only, are they ?

Don't Greece have quite a few top level players? Manolas, Sokratis, Mitroglou, their clubs don't seem to do that badly in Europe either... their recent results have been truly atrocious.

They lost to the Faroe Islands not too long ago

Absolutely. Berge, Ødegaard, Ajer, Haaland, these are all looking the part and still have plenty of time to mature and improve. I also think Lagerbäck has done wonders for the mentality of the squad.

Look at the empty seats

They normally play their games at the new Olympiakos ground which is much smaller, surprised they played this at the Olympic stadium which is 80k, can remember Man. United playing CL games there 20 years ago.

Group F with Sweden, Norway and Romania will be so interesting because it's so tight and their fixture list is so similar :)

Italy deserved the win but still amazing that Finland were still so long in the game.

They must avoid a defeat in Bosnia-Herzegowina in the next match then it would look very good for them.

So Greece then ...

Euro 04: Winners
WC 06: -
Euro 08: GS
WC 10: GS
Euro 12: QF
WC 14: R16

... and since then losing to Faroër Islands (twice!), Luxembourg, Armenia, Estonia and drawing at home to Liechtenstein.

How does such a decline happen?

Lukaku will get a hattrick tonight against Scotland.
