I think people need to realise Andreas for what he is, a good pacy worker bee who is good at pressing, offers energy but don’t expect him to be a world beater. If we continue to build he will be a squad player next year.

Fred looked half decent coming on today. At the very least he is the type of player that fits in with our pressing style.

Huge three points against a rival, missing key players, take that every day. Very important win.

Defensively we looked the best we've looked so far, which is a positive.

But overall that performance was no different from anything served up by Jose or LVG. Drab, lifeless and no creativity or urgency.

We have not improved at all in my opinion. We are the same team we've been since around 2015 and Ole hasn't really changed anything apart from we run a bit more.

Onto the next one, be interesting to see who gets playing time on Thursday. I hope he 'gives Youth a chance'.

We completely shut Leicester down today. Everyone grafted and we dragged ourselves to a one nil win despite us missing two key players.

Anyone criticising our players today can frankly feck off. Yeah we weren't setting the world alight in attack, but we did enough to win the game with what we have at our disposal

We needed 3 points desperately and the lads fought 90 minutes to get it. I can't see how anyone can complain either!

Its not like we have been in good form and the football has been great (other than the opener). Thats obvious, but this is an important win that can prove to be a confidence builder and step forward to better football.

Mctominay wasn't the best at passing/keeping the ball at times, but that lad ran his bollocks off and gave his all for the team. Same with all the other players. Actually proud of them even if we are frustrated at the lack of flair in our football.

Watching a player like Mata "running" around doing nothing and being incapable of receiving the ball under any sort of pressure while Leicester's number 10 is dominating the game just makes you realize how shit we've been on the transfer market for years.

Man I like Matic and really hoped he would take his claim after complaining of losing his place recently. Unfortunately he showed again why he was dropped. He is simply done. Would be much better in a slower league.

While our Defence is now very good, we have some really glaring weaknesses at center midfield, right wing and number 10.

Agree as it stands though we need a proper DM, attacking midfielder, and someone who can play Pogba's role in his abscence( since we wont play AP there for some reason)

Lindelof is ok as long as there is no physical aerial threat against him.

But he looks the weak link in our back four. I wonder how long before Axel takes his place? Tuanzebe looks like an absolute unit.

He had a really good game today and was actually stronger aerially than he has been in the past. There looked to be better communication between him and Maguire as well. There was a ball that came in almost identical to the one Southampton scored from and this time Maguire made sure he was there to challenge for it and Lindelof was picking up the spare man..I noticed this happened quite a few times. Thank feck we've finally started to pick up on these things. Lindelof isn't perfect but if him and Maguire organsie themselves properly it's at least a competent centreback pairing, which is a big improvement on the chaos from last season.

We'll see how Axel copes in our squad but if he can force his way in all the better. He's a bit of an unknown though. We don't know how well he'd read the game at this level, cope with the pace, better quality of players, etc.

If you watched the game without knowing you'd think Bissaka was the 30 year old experienced defender of the two. Manchester United did with this performance. I get up every damn morning (I live in United States) to watch this team and support them. I don't expect titles, it's ok to be second/third. I expect fight, performance that looks like I am supporting a team, not bunch of discombobulated individuals. Is that too much to ask for? I might be a bad fan, and should just support this team no matter what. I mean off course I will continue to support them, but man I want to see a fight. I want to see desire, grit, I want to see a damn team out there trying to represent the colors of Manchester United. Very good win against a tough opponent. Maguire was fantastic against Vardy, very impressed with Young as well. Still a lot to improve on but was an excellent win when we didn’t have our best game and with a lot of injuries.

Also, we lacked some quality in attack today but that's understandable with our most creative players (Pogba, Martial and to some extent, Shaw) injured.

We were top class in defense. Literally no pundit/ pre match buildup discussion predicted a United win today. Everyone was going for a score draw. Limiting a good team to half chances says a lot about the desire I want to see from a United team.

We started the season with good performances and poor results. So it's good to get a win when we didn't particularly look like creating much.

Fair assessment. I'm by no means saying Lindelof is crap. Just that with our revamped defence, he actually went from being our best defender to being potentially the odd man out.

I noticed the change that Maguire made in picking up behind Lindelof. But that one saving header he had was a direct result of yet another missed header by Lindelof, if my memory serves me correctly. I just yearn for the day when both our centrebacks can clear that type of ball first man. Which is why I think Axel would be the better option, but of course he isn't "premier league proven". However, if Dan James can come in with such an impact, I don't see why Axel can't do the same. Villa were promoted with him being an integral part of the team and he drew rave reviews.

Its definitely encouraging that we finally kept the clean sheet we deserved and that the defence is shaping up nicely. I might be biased towards our homegrown lads but I hope Axel eventually takes Victor's place and partners Maguire in the long term. For me he is just much more imposing and confident, which suits the premier league.

That's the problem, though. He's never anything more than just ok, and he's the number 10 in a team that is crying out for some creativity, especially when Pogba is not on the pitch to bail them out, yet he never really does anything. It's a fecking mystery how he's gotten 7-8 years at this club. We could/should do so much better.

At 22 years of age, Darren was the whipping boy and favorite target of blame for most Manchester United fans. By the time he got to 26-27 he was one of the first names on the team sheet and deservedly so. Just a shame that illness cut that short.

Yes, agreed. Some people said it was boring?

I'm a United fan, seeing a gritty performance like that and seeing us holding on is entertaining as winning 3-0.

It's not like the players doesn't give a feck about trying to score, they did and it was a difficult game.

If people are expecting us to be consistently at the same level as City that’s on them. The point was that even City, who are several levels above us, struggled against this very decent Leicester side. Negativity is fair but maybe not after beating Leicester given the injuries?
