They pushed Cameron into promising them a referendum in the manifesto, and look where it has got them.

It's been quite a big issue for British politics, not just the Tory's. Go back to the 80s and the likes of Corbyn and Benn were completely opposed to the EU and were as far to the left as anyone in UK politics outside the extremes.
It's an issue that for a variety not reasons transcends the normal political divide and always has.
1) They will obviously say that given the circumstances in attempting to protect her legacy
2) I'm not obligated to do as her husband says if I think that a sitting MP being murdered is a relevant fact in forming an opinion
3) The incident could be considered indicative of how the racist hate mob react so in my view it is relevant when identifying the threat of one side using violent rhetoric and threats

I'm not sure I buy that. Yes there has been a strain of labour Eurosceptism but it's not been significant - for years Labour presented themselves as a largely pro European party. Eurosceptism as a significant view has been a Tory preoccupation. It's leading voices have been Tory. It's the Tories who have been most split over Europe for the longest. And it is the Tories who birthed Brexit.

Of course you should learn the lessons and act on tragic events. We shouldn't let people like Farage, Johnson and Francois forget what the consequences of their rhetoric can be.

If there are lessons to be learnt there should be. That said, in my experience there has been no where close to the level of inflammatory rhetoric on the Remain side.
I'm from West Yorkshire, my facebook is full of leavers. All I see from them is 'EU is the 4th Reich', Immigration invasion, traitors, enemies of the people talk..
We should, but it needs to be done with sensitivity and not point-scoring, as the family said.
Both sides could do with toning down the rhetoric at times, but the last thing you want is a Johnson using her death for purely political ends.

I don't think the country will explode if we scrap leaving. Brexiteers deep down know they've winged it this far, they fear a second referendum and know they got a lot of people along for the ride. The last 3 years has been finding out what the EU is , the four freedoms and how it's setup/intertwined, for politicians let alone ordinary people.
To keep the democracy theme and lessen any blow, if there's an extension I'd cut to the chase and ask for a leave no deal - remain full member vote. Four months to get the info out there. I'm not sure kicking this WA tin can down the road again will lead to anything if EU members allow an extension.

problem is the low level understanding 'leavers' have been convinced or have convinced themselves that immigrants are the problem.
The bigger problem is things are going to get worse whatever happens. Its a matter of how quick. We are not in a position of strength to negotiate or tell the EU anything.
