Not that making a thread here is going to have any impact on whether Rashford is played or not but is it only Ole that is unable to see how bad Rashford is?

Yes we don't have any options up front at the moment but I would have any of our attackers play up front over this guy at the minute. Players being played based on reputation or due to being a 'local lad' or for being young and English needs to stop.
 
He should not be dropped, he should be coached better.

He can't shoot, he makes the wrong decision every time. He lacks ability. He is the definition of a pace merchant and I don't know if coaching is going to make lot of difference.
 
Won't happen when the team is just bones and full of worse deadwood.

Wish we had some ex-striker coach at the club to teach him a thing or two.
 
I would rather play Greenwood and Angel Gomes than Rashford and Jlingz. Both so called senior players are useless.
 
He’s not fully fit and there’s no one to drop him for. Whoever is playing we aren’t going to be very good this season.

His confidence is shot. I would agree if we had someone to bring in but there simply isn’t another option. He’s a terrific player but his head isn’t in the right place. He would actually benefit from a bit of time out. Shame we can’t give it to him.

There's just no one that really warrants a spot. He should be rotated more, as he's not worthy of a starting spot but, as others pointed out, who really is? This is a team in desperate needs of solid recruits and it's going to take more than January to fix this.
 
Since Martial is injured and based on who's available, I don't think we can drop him. Would much rather have him in the side than either Lingard or Pereira, so would rather drop one of those 2 for Greenwood, who can then interchange with Rashford on the right and up top. Whilst Rashford has been poor, there are some serious passengers in this side who are offering far less at the moment. Can pull him out of the firing line for a bit when Martial returns.
 
I don't think he's fit, but he's played worse than he did tonight. Sadly we're in a position where he'll start even when he's not 100%, great squad management.

Who you gonna play instead? We've put all our eggs into the Rashford basket, salary and contract included.

Darron Gibson has scored 14 goals in his career and he has very good shooting technique and an absolute hammer of a right foot. Rashford not being prolific has nothing to do with his shooting technique which is generally excellent.
 
Thought he was our best player tonight, not that he had an outstanding game.
 
Rashford's form has been terrible for quite a while, the pressure we are placing on him seems to be a bit too much for him by the looks of things. Additionally though, the poor cnut never gets a break, definitely wasn't 100% again tonight and yet there he is out there. Not good enough to be a consistent starter for a tradional big club in general but sure the Glazers made this bed for us and at the moment we're nowhere near being a top team in this league anymore so feck it...have at it Rashy:wenger:
 
He should be playing on the wing, but Ole didnt replace Lukaku, so he's stuck with Rashford up top, as Martial's injured.

I don't think he's fully fit, needs a rest badly and it doesn't help that Ole is running him into the ground because he is the managers favourite. Hopefully Martial is back soon and he can get some time on the bench.
 
He won’t be able to say he wasn’t given a proper go. He’s pissing away the most phenomenal opportunity.

The Phil Jones comment was tongue in cheek but yes I'd take a chance on a nameless individual from the youth over Rashford if Greenwood and Martial are unavailable.

He plays up front for a team that creates no chances. I wouldn't say it has been a phenomenal opportunity up to now.
 
He looks on the verge of tears. I fear for his sanity. The money can't help with that.
 
Not sure why he started over Greenwood who scored our last two goals? Especially since he's coming back from injury.
