You either accept that a overhaul is going to take time or you hire someone else because you're desperate for a short term fix
I'm gonna go full racist on this and say I don't fancy him because he's Italian. It just never seems to be a long term smooth adjustment. Plus he's just taking English lessons now which bodes appallingly and winning stuff with Juventus over recent years is shooting fish in a barrel. It's another closed eyes roll of the dice. Tbh I haven't seen much of Allegri but from the the AC milan team and more recently Juventus.
Juve have had - Matuidi, Khedira, Cheillini, Bonnuci, Mandzukic etc..
We have tried that with Jose, we went down a different route this summer.
It is just abit annoying if we hire a manager that takes us back 3 seasons.
If this is happening I at least hope we let Ole know before the rest of the world unlike with LVG

Don't be ridiculuous.I'll feel far more confident and optimistic with tactical maestro Allegri in charge than with Nagelsmann, Rose, Poch etc. who have nothing to show for their careers so far. They never had to handle a job with high expectations, while Juventus aim for the treble every year.
He bought Pjanic at 24/25 to replace Pogba, he had Sandro at LB who was younger at the time and Bonucci was what, 28 when he joined? And Dybala too. Seems a brilliant balance to me.

Lazy or stupid? The vast majority of our signings under Jose weren't even old Matic and Sanchez basically, age was not the issue with our signings.
Signing a couple of 28 year olds to instantly raise the quality this squad is actually what we need. It's about balance.
Sorting this mess out takes time. As i've said before, back when Rodgers were managing Liverpool there wasn't a single person on here who thought that their setup was ideal with the committee and Edwards, now it's the holy grail of solutions.

Personally, I would leave Ole in charge until the right man is found. There is no point reacting to something, that's what the club have been doing for years.
We seem to be in trouble and then Ed goes into the managerial market.. who is available.. okay we will take him rather than working out a plan.
I don't think he's as defensive as Jose was, and yes he does have a knack of trying to close out games when he should just go for the jugular. However he's a winner and extremely well rehearsed tactician from what I know. I recall particular praise his way when they dispatched of a rampant Monaco and he switched systems during the game which Monaco couldn't cope with.
Obviously he's not the best of the best, and yes he has issues. But he's miles, miles better than Ole and could be a good option for 2 years, before we look to an attack minded coach. Allegri would be good to build in a system suiting the team best, installing a winning mentality and he undoubtedly has a better way of evaluating talent. We can do a lot worse than him to bring us back up.
Note he's not my first choice but I accept we may need pragmatism before moving to aesthetics.
This would not be an issue if we hired him straight after Ole, but then going to someone who wants to press and play attacking (ewven though Ole has failed) the players will have to adapt again to a different way of playing.
Can you Imagine some of these players have had LVG's possession, Jose's rigidity, Ole's attempt of fluidity and now another style in the space of 4 years?

Sorting this mess out doesn't mean we fight relegation a quarter into the season. You can't hide Ole's poor management with "there will be ups and downs" and "this takes time".
We know it takes time, but we also know our squad is better than what they showed against Astana, Rochdale, West Ham, Newcastle, AZ, etc.
Honestly I don't think Ole has a system, so it's a matter of players moving away from some random instructions and towards more clear drills and formations and positions that they can actually learn from.
Moreover, I don't give two shits about half of our team because they won't last beyond 2 windows, whereas Allegri/whoever will be with us for 2 years. They will bring in players who they know can fit their system (another reason to avoid Ole. I don't think he knows world football, or he knows of the best system).

To be fair, we've had an era of dominance not dissimilar to Allegri's Juventus and bottom table PL teams were far more sh*ttier than they're now.
I'm not comparing Allegri and SAF though, there's no "next SAF" because the great man was one of a kind and the sport has moved on as well. Klopp and Pep are the only consistently successful managers in the world playing attacking football, Zidane is equally as pragmatic as Allegri. Valverde is far worse.

In 2011 Allegri won AC Milan's first Serie A title since 2004. That was AC Milan's last Serie A title and their last major trophy won. Between 2012 and 2014 Milan were busy dismantling the side. Silva, Ibra, Cassano, Nesta, Gattuso and Pato left in 2012, Boateng and Ambrosini left the year after while Balotelli, Cristante, Kaka and Robinho left the year after that. Under Allegri, Milan won the league, they ended up 3rd and 8th. In 2015 they ended 10th under Pippo and 7th under Sinisa the year after.
Priority numero uno should be Poch, if we cant land him I'd be happy with Allegri. Juve were a great team under him. They reached two consecutive CL finals whilst he was at the helm.
The Juve part might be true. But Milan was in decline when he came in. They had finished 4th (69p), 5th (64p), 3rd (74p), 3rd (70p) the previous years when he came in. He won in his first season (82p). The next season the finished 2nd (80p) and then everything went wrong.
Oh come on, we're 5 points away from top 4, relax a bit.
No manager is going to come in and snap his fingers to have a fully fit squad. What's caused us problems is that the players we need to rely on have been out injured.
