League Cup 2019/20 | Semi finals: Man Utd v Man City, Leicester City v Aston Villa

Nicely rigged for Manchester Merseyside derbies in the semi finals

Good draw that. Let's not underestimate them like Spurs did.
We're at home, we've had a scare against Rochdale, we won't make that mistake again.

Still expect to see a couple of the young lads in there:Williams,Garner,Greenwood,Tuanzebe.

Just need to keep a solid defence

Rochdale, Chelsea, Colchester. Finally some good fortune after years of rotten and fixed draws.

So the draw is late and they don’t even seem to be mentioning it. Something gone wrong again?

I’ll take any home tie.

Took a bit longer than expected to heat the Manchester and Liverpool balls.

You're complaining about other teams getting easy draws when you've just been drawn against the lowest ranked team in the competition! At home!
How many hard draws have you had in cup competitions over the last couple of seasons?

BTW It's not other teams, just you Bluenoses

I love how you're looking at Chelsea away as good fortune! Can't complain with Rochdale and Colchester at home though. :D

To be fair, I'm feeling a bit less confident playing a weaker side at home than i would feel playing a strong opponent away. Hopefully it won't be a banana skin.

We're dreadful recently against that sort of team, its amazing how quickly some forget and are saying stuff like "we're basically in the semi finals".

We couldn't get a better draw. We might have a chance to win a trophy this season hopefully.

City
Utd
Villa (as they will be playing a week Liverpool team).
Everton v Leicester too tight to call.

City continue to get gifts in the domestic cup competitions. We just got through in an away game on our worst ground in England against the team that finished 3rd last season. Big difference.

I actually never get the over complaining every time about Chelsea, City and Pool getting easy draws. I feel like some here believe we are the only unlucky team among them.

It's not fixed you know.

I'd leave out the CL draws because they're mostly based on seedings. You make your own luck. But their cup draws are shocking every year.

great draw - we should beat them.

Leicester and City the main teams left now assuming Liverpool dont play because of the world club cup

This draw is good, but chances are high that we will face both Man City AND Liverpool in the semi and final IF we make it that far.

Yes! Just heard about the draw. Lucky I checked because the Liverpool fan in the office told me we had City:rolleyes::mad:

Very happy. Some luck on our side for a change.

Happy with that draw. More game time for the kids.. That's all the league cup is for..

What do you expect City to do? Reject the draws and keep re-doing them until we get one that everybody deems to be fair? We had a run of shit draws in the Champions League when we first entered it, we were drawn away to Premier League sides in 7 consecutive FA Cup draws between 2015 and 2017, we were drawn away in every domestic cup tie we played in the 16/17 season. That was a run of bad luck, now we're having a run of good luck. If you want us to have harder draws then demand more of sides like Tottenham who were knocked out by Colchester earlier in the competition.

Scousers on twitter trying to say we always get easy draws.

Erm, last season Chelsea away, Arsenal away, Juve, PSG, Barca. Already Chelsea away this season.

City's draws have been obscenely easy for a while now, in Europe too.

It's the still moaning about City when we've just drawn the lowest ranked team at home that makes me chuckle.

They must be utter imbeciles if they can't see we've just had Chelsea away.

Literally 1 day ago.

You'd pay good money for draws like that.

More of a bewilderment that they keep avoiding remotely hard opposition. But you're right, we should feel pretty good about having some draw luck for once.

Oh Jesus. "Is there a pro-City agenda, and if so, how can we stop it?"

If you want us to have harder draws in the later rounds of cup competitions then demand more of the idiots who were knocked out by lower league opposition because they didn't take their games seriously enough. Bournemouth were knocked out by Burton Albion of League One, West Ham were knocked out by Oxford United of League One, Spurs were knocked out by Colchester of League Two. While we're on that, United were nearly knocked out by Rochdale of League One in the last round. City on the other hand have breezed through against a good Championship side in Preston and a Premier League side in Southampton. If you're upset about City getting "easy draws" then you need to look at how lower league sides end up this far - it's usually because they've encountered and overcome a "top side" along the way.

People liking conspiracy theories is my only guess. They are fun though, tbf to them.:D

I think the draw could be rigged but only to try and ensure exciting ties for TV.

So to be clear not in favour of specific teams, more that they prefer to ensure ties like Arsenal v Liverpool; City v United etc happen

When we have plenty of ousted UEFA and fifa officials telling us that yes of course the draws were fixed in their day and how easy and barely cheating its was, it's really not a stretch.

Just throw in some corporate dickheads into the machinery who believe they have a duty or ambition to further the sport above and beyond impartially administering the sport and it's a short step towards normalisation. Heat the Manchester and Liverpool balls so they don't get drawn together and take it from there. What a great set of semi finals we'll have, great for the competition.

City are owned by a deeply corrupt and brutal middle eastern dictatorship. City have been proven time and time again to break the rules whenever they can. Why would it be so far fetched for them to be paying for easy draws in order to win more trophies and further the brand?

Or you can accept that you've had piss easy draws and be grateful that you have instead of getting embroiled in spurious arguments as to why those teams are there.

It really has nothing to do with it. It's the luck of the draw and you've had a good share of it. Move on

Not gonna dispute that we're owned by horrendous crooks who know how to exploit financial loopholes to get ahead, but I don't think they'd be so petty as to warm the balls up. Their criminal activity is reserved for the big stuff, the over-arching financial and international pedigree stuff. By accusing us of fixing draws you're sounding like the people on Bluemoon who accuse UEFA of working against City and rigging it so that United/Liverpool, etc. get favourable treatment.

It's too early in t'mornin' to be playing cruel jokes like this
