Saudi Takeover - Claim deal done

Would love for Bezos to buy the club, I’d imagine that MUTV would then be free with my Amazon Prime membership.

The guy is super competitive and if his stewardship of Amazon is any indication of his ownership expectations, he has shown how he is willing to forgo profits for long stretches just to plow back earnings into the business. Would be a refreshing change from the current owners.

You lot complaining about Saudi are hilarious.. I'm sure none of you use the oil they pump, or wear the clothes made by children in Bangladesh, or use Apple products from Chinese factories with suicide nets. I'm sure you're all active supporters of BDS and are boycotting Chinese made goods because thier country has Muslims in concentration camps. I bet you're all boycotting Indian products and services too because of the Genocide in Kashmir.

Selective outrage is the best kind.

All true but issue is being bought by the Saudi royal family.

i.e. I'm reading the same bullshit as the rest of you but if this somehow turns out to the real thing, I'll claim to have had sources all along.

I reckon it'll happen eventually, B.

The silence is deafening. Or maybe it's too small a rumour that the club won't even care to deny?

It's going to happen, its just whether its now or later.

 cannot wait for **that** grinning feckface showing up at OT waving his hands merrily in triumph

Why the feck hasn't the title of this thread been updated to accurately reflect the current situation? It would save people from having to wade through 20 pages of crap.

Yeah, we can start chronically underpaying our staff too while simultaneously crushing their spirits with aggressive, dehumanising performance targets that force them to piss in bottles to avoid repercussions.

Quite likely, Spoonez. If/when it does, not that likely to be broken by some tube on LinkedIn, though.

True. But imagine the money...we'll be rollin' in dough. Truth is it was always a worry once we floated - and with our value only a truly insanely mega massively loaded rich multi billionaire could afford the club. Either you keep following or you walk away. Moaning is utterly pointless.

That’s what I’m beginning to think as well now. If it was a load of bullshit, surely the club would have came out by now to refute these rumours, especially one this potentially huge.

I truly believe he won't be associated much at the beginning. Will let the dust settle before putting his name to it.

The Jake Humphreys 'Comfortable chair' video got more traction than this. The club coming out and denying every story posted by a mentalist on Bebo isn't really in anyone's interests.

If I was a betting man I would put money on the Glazers cashing in before the season is finished. That's my take.

Hope you're right.
They have drained us for long enough.
Just an owner who doesn't saddle us with debts and taking loads of cash out is instantly an upgrade.

An owner who might beef us up with their own money would just be a shocker!

This, if he buys he will use a proxy then slowly start to become more prominent. I don't know if it's happening now but I think if becomes close we will start to see the likes of Fergie going to Riyadh because the Saudis will need him to get the fans onside and get his input on the operational strategy.

Would love to see this happen. It could ignite a spending spree as they'll want to outdo the City lot.

Yep. It will be a slow and long process.

Right, now that the Saudis have bought United... How about we sort out Old Trafford? We need new seats for starters.

The guy who spoke of this on his LinkedIn, the Arab guy is supposedly a representative of the Royal Family.

Pretty solid source.

Glazers have gotten just about the maximum they can without the need for serious investment to bring the club back up and increase growth (from their business perspective).

They won't do that, the time to sell and walk away with billions from something that never cost them a dime is upon them.

Leak in the roof as well. Hell there is a lot that needs done, place was cutting edge 20 years ago.

He owns the Washington Post as well and hasn’t done any of the above there.
A buddy of mine used to report to him. He said that Bezos was a really difficult boss -- and I thought we had difficult bosses in previous companies together. He just didnt enjoy working at Amazon. Bezos is a bit like Jobs. They wring the most out of everyone who works for him like you are just some machine that exists to serve the machinery that is Amazon.

Manchester United are a publicly traded company, if something like that would have happen, a much mpre reliable source would have picked the story up already.

This basically. Not remotely true Unless someone bought millions of our shares on the New york stock exchange and no one batted an eyelid. No way that would go under the radar. Total guff

True. We know what their human rights record is like, but can they make a good burger? Because the last game I was over for I was so late I had to get food in the stadium and the burger tasted like absolute dog arse. And I have extensive experience of both.

Brent Di Cesare on the United Stand has said there that a club source has told Manchester Evening News they are "shocked and bewildered" by the rumours that the club has been sold.

The 'hot dog' wasn't as advertised either - 2/10, pointy elbows.

Behave mate. Human rights is only an issue in Saudi Arabia

Utd is a publicy traded company. Even if a takeover approach were made the company is legally bound to notify the NYSE as it would affect the share price. That news would be made public immediately.

Nothing to see here.

You must have inadvertently ordered the premium burger.
